GCOCL Nail Color Machine

Maybe you have seen those "DIY Nail Art Machines" on Ebay... I found them by coincidence already a year or so ago and thought they looked interesting and they were cheap but I didn't believe they would work so I didn't order one of them.
A few weeks ago I saw more and more postings popping up showing beautiful results people achieved with the stamp and metal templates from Konad.

Being really cheap when it comes to experimenting with nail stuff I decided to order one of those Chinese Nail Color Machines by an obscure brand called GCOCL as it came with 6 templates, the special nail polishes (6 colors and a clear top coat), nail stickers, a stamp to use without the machine (e.g. to use on toe nails) and some little crystals (I am pretty sure I'll never use these on my nails though...but my daughter will like to use them to craft something beautiful hehe). I think I paid about €20 for the whole lot (that includes shipping...the lot alone was about €8) which is not much considering the amount of stuff you get. I am sure you can find this for even less on eBay though!

When I first opened the box with the machine I was sure it wouldn't work hehe. The included instructions - even though they're written in English - are totally Greek to me lol! But with the included pics etc. I was sure I'd figure that thing out hehe.

Ok so I put that template in the machine, applied a thin coat of polish and pushed the movable part of the machine forward, making sure to push the scratcher down lightly. Then I pressed on the stamp button, pulled it back and tried to print my nail. Nothing. There was nothing on my nail... hmmm... tried again and again and nothing transferred at all.

I finally figured the problem out: Each of the metal stencils was covered with a thin protective plastic film which just had to be removed. *pats dumb self*
After that point the machine worked most wonderfully! It's really easy and takes like 3 or 4 minutes to do all nails.
the included patterns are really nice, there is even a Hello Kitty there! Awwww! Some of them will only work on really long nails though.

The nail polishes included with the machine are supposed to be safe. I don't know if that's true but as I don't use them on my bare nail I think they're fine. I use one of my quality polishes as a base for the stamp design and this works perfectly.

I read that the nail color you use with the machine has to be pigmented, thicker and quick drying otherwise the pattern won't look nice. The included ones work perfectly, haven't tried any of my polishes as stamp colors yet though.

All in all a cute little gadget and well worth the money.
I purchased from
paul_lee_design on eBay but if you search for DIY Nail art you will find tons of them popping up.

I have those too. I just use my regular Konad stamp with them since I managed to break the machine while unpacking it lol. The plates are amazing. Almost better than Konad brand plates.

hahah you're not alone, it happened to me too, I was so frustrated with the plate and after the nth try, that's the time I realized there's a thin film on top of the plate! hahahah :)

Hello Kathi, I was looking through your older posts and I saw that you've tried the Skin79 Luminous Pearl Beblesh balm Diamond BB cream. You said it had a luminous (pearl) effect to it and I was wondering if it was subtle or on the more noticeable side? Could I wear it alone or should I pair it up with foundation? I'm a fan of shimmer and I was just curious before I bought it! I'm a highlighter addict and I was debating on purchasing this or Revlon's bare it all lustrous lotion. Any input would be appreciated, thanks! :)
