Spring 2009: Paul & Joe Eye Color Palette CS #002 Starlet

Generally all eyeshadows from Paul & Joe I tried were a disappointment. Most turned out dull or sheer or both and I just didn't feel any love for them.

However the Eye Color Palette CS in #002 released for Spring 2009 looked so pretty (OMG that case! SO beautiful! And great colors!) I had to have it (and found it a great deal cheaper than retail on eBay).

Anyway, the mirrored case is super pretty and rather large. The compact contains 3 full-sized Paul & Joe eyeshadows and a good-quality dual-ended brush/sponge applicator.

Paul & Joe describes the colors of palette #002 as "Pearl pink, pearl gray and purple"... ?????????!!!!!!!!
The colors are: dull light pink, warm muddy brown and deep powdery super dull gray. Ugh!

I tried several ways to wear the palette but it always turned out crap. Furthermore this was one of the first eyeshadow palettes in ages that creased like mad on me (despite base).

The texture of the shadows isn't that bad, rather soft and silky but the colors are dull and boring beyond belief and the creasing problem annoys me.

Here are 2 boring looks I did with the palette:

All in all definitely not worth the money. Better pick up a few of the new Kate or Lavshuca palettes!

to be honest, i don't think it's boring. you look quite nice. yes, it's neutral but it's well composed. but i agree with you on being too pricy. :)

yea but the creasing is the main problem. The shadows look ok when applied and blended but an hour later it's just a strange mess lol

I have this in 001 and it works great for me!The one i have is more neutral taupe colors, which surprisingly i don't own any. Anyway it does not crease on me although I prime my lids first always, the packaging is gorgeous!!!

Thanks for the review! I've been looking for reviews on P&J's powder eyeshadows for forever and I'm glad I waited! I was thinking about getting this earlier this month, but if it creases on you, then they probably don't stand a chance on my oily lids.

An understated neutral eye, good for everyday wear. Your eyes are so pretty here!
