Bison Rosefull Moroccan Rose bath salt

I am not so much a fan of rose scents but from time to time I like a good rose scent if it´s not overly sweet or powdery as that way it will give me a headache.

Sasa has a huge range of individually packed bath salts/powders and among them the Rosefull range from Bison which offers 3 different rose scents in 3 different textures (essence, salts, powder) to choose from. I got a package of the Moroccan Rose bath salts as I thought it sounded yummy =)

The package contains 50g which is good for one bath. At around US$3 per pack this is definitely an indulgence but still less than e.g. a Lush bath bomb.

The bath salts actually are a mix of salt crystals and a red-tinted bath powder so the water will show up as a nice bright pink red color.
The scent is really wonderful, a subtle spicy rose scent which is neither heavy nor cloying and absolutely relaxing.

I am not so sure about the skincare properties of this product but my skin felt soft and not dried out when I finished my bath.

Overall one of the best and most authentic rose scents I found so far and I am sure to pick up a few more packs when I order next time from Sasa.

Bison Dynabody Lotion Bath (Refresh, Beauty & Hot)

So Sasa listed another bunch of new bathing powders from Bison and certainly I could not resist. I swear I must have bathing powders here good for like the next 150 baths or so and I just ordered huge containers (700 grams or so/each) of Japanese bathing salts/powders to try out even more stuff!


Anyway, the new Dynabody Lotion Bath powders are really good stuff...actually now after trying a vast variety of Bison bathing powders I think the Funwarich and Dynabody ones are my favorite kinds. The Finland Spa ones are probably my least faves. I also tried those Additive spice and skincare ones and they were nice and all but not as lovely as Dynabody or Funwarich.

The Dynabody Lotion Bath salts come in bags containing 60g/each. Actually they think that you need 1 bag per bath but for my moderately sized tube half a bag is easily sufficient.


There are 3 kinds available (at least Sasa has 3 different ones listed). As far as I understand each Dynabody Lotion Bath concentrates on one body part (which should be massaged while enjoying the bath):

-Refresh: This is for the leg area. This is my favorite scent as it´s a very fresh herbal/lemon scent, reminds me a bit of a crisp Eau de Cologne =). Turns the water green.
-Beauty: For the breast area... smells like fresh wild berries and gives a pink tint to the water
-Hot: For the abdomen and butt area. Smells like grapefruits and gives an orange tint to the water.

I honestly don´t care for the body part thing as I just relax and read a magazine when I soak myself in the bathtub =)

Retail is 240 Yen per package which is rather much but since I spit the sachet into 2 baths it´s ok for me =)

Bison Funwarich Time of Luxury Mousse Bath Powders

Sasa keeps listing new bathing powders and I simply can´t resist bathing powders from Japanese brands as they´re such a wonderful treat!
Bison makes great bathing powders however they´re on the pricey side (after all it´s quite expensive to pop a US$2-bag into 1 bath one will enjoy for 15 minutes. But anyway, I splurge and indulge myself (that being said a Lush Butterball costs like double that amount at least with the prices here).

One of the most recent additions to the Bison bathing powders range is a line called "Funwarich Mousse Bath". There are 4 variations available and they all give a milky tint to the water and create a very moisturizing foam (the foam feels almost like a gel or even slimy when you take it and spread it over your skin)... a very weird kind of foam I have never experienced before. The foam is not very strong but the bath is overall very moisturizing and leaves my skin very soft and smooth.


The 4 available versions are:
-Apple & Chamomile:
Sasa lists this as Apple & Daisy but the flowers on the package look like chamomile to me (also chamomile extract is one of the ingredients). This is my favorite one as it smells really good (apple). It turns the water a milky light green.
Contains milk powder, Hydrolized Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and Chamomile Extract. Softening agent: Malic Acid.

-Rose:
This smells like your average rose scent. Not overwhelming but not cloying either.
Turns the water a pretty light milky pink color.
Contains milk powder, Hydrolized Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and Eglantine Extract. Softening agent: Malic Acid.

-Pudding:
This smells like caramel pudding. I like it but it´s not my favorite scent as it has a slightly harsh note.
Turns the water a bright milky orange.
Contains milk powder, Hydrolized Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and Lecithin. Softening agent: Malic Acid.

-Vanilla:
This is my 2nd favorite scent. It´s a rich soft vanilla fragrance.
Water color is a milky yellow.
Contains milk powder, Hydrolized Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Ascorbic Acid and Honey. Softening Agent: Malic Acid.


Each bag contains 30g and retails for 180 Yen. Selling price on Sasa is US$2.20.

Bison Roserity White Rose for Body

I got this body lotion about 3 months ago from Sasa. I liked the cute bottle and while it wasn´t the cheapest (around US$12) it wasn´t terribly pricey either so it ended up in my cart.


Bison Roserity White Rose for Body comes in a cute turquoise bottle with white roses printed on and contains 200ml. It´s supposed to whiten and brighten your skin and contains hyaluronic acid and collagen.


In all honesty I wasn´t very fond of the lotion (I have finished up recently and will not buy it again). What I didn´t like was the strange texture and chalky rose smell.
The texture was a bit sticky and not overly moisturizing so it wasn´t my first choice for the past winter season. What I really disliked was the scent which was like rose with a heavy talc overlay, sort of like mixing a cheap rose perfume with chalk. Very weird, I know!


The general reviewers´consensus on Sasa seems to be that the ladies like this lotion a lot but for me it didn´t work.
I think my Beautymate Rose Nano Lotion smells so much better! Even Rose of Heaven and Happy Bath Day have a more pleasant perfume (albeit stronger).

Bison India Esthe Body Massage Oil

I am generally fond of Bison as I just love the certain ethno vibe many of their products deliver.

I noticed their India Esthe products on Sasa for some time now but somehow was hesitant to order as I wasn´t sure regarding the scent etc.


Anyway, I was just too curious so I ended up placing the Inda Esthe Body Massage Oil. Also the reviews on Sasa were good so I thought I´d have to give a try to it myself.
The India Esthe Body Massage Oil comes in a 250ml plastic bottle.
This is what Sasa says about this product:

"You can apply the Bison India Esthe Body Massage Oil on skin with excess body fat. Body massage effectively promotes blood circulation and the renewal process of skin cells. Leaves your skin firm, refined and refreshed.

Bison Body Massage Oil contains the following skin-care ingredients:

• Sesame oil: to protect the surface skin
• Oriental Herbs (tea extract, asenyaku, red pepper and ginger) : to nourish skin and to strengthen the result of fat-burning
• Emollient oil: to soften skin
• Indian sandalwood: pleasant aroma to soothe mind.

How to use: Apply on preferred areas such as waist, hips and legs. (Please make sure your skin is dry and clean before use.) Gently massage for 3 minutes. Rinse well with water.

Wait? Rinse well with water? Yep, you read that right! This India Esthe Body Massage Oil is actually a cleansing oil for your body! Apply on dry skin, emulsify with a bit of water, then rinse! Isn´t that way cool?


Honestly this doesn´t remove my excess fat haha! Well, it´s too much fat to handle for a mere massage oil anyway lol! But it makes my skin wonderfully soft and smooth and the sandalwood scent (I can also detect ginger) is very nice and lingers for some time!

The oil is on the thicker side and has a light orange tint. I spread it over my body and massage and then step in the shower to rinse it off. The oil rinses off well as it emulsifies and turns milky upon contact with water, just like what you might be used to from your face cleansing oil.


All in all an excellent body care product and well worth purchasing. I paid about US$14 (which is less than the 1500 regular retail price in Japan!) but the bottle lasts for quite some time as I don´t need a lot of oil per application.

Bison makes wonderful stuff, too!

The Grapia Peeling was the only bad thing I tried from Bison so far (and it's only bad for my skin, for others it might do wonders so I try to be fair lol!)... Bison makes very cute things different from what you might find otherwise in the Japanese drugstores.

Sasa carries a ton of Bison goodies so along with my most previous order (which took an annoying week to ship and another 2 weeks to arrive!) I received some new goodies from Bison.
Many of Bison's products have a cute ethno-vibe or a super kawaii style and come in really nice and pretty packaging.

I picked up the following goodies from Sasa recently:

-Finland Spa Relax Bath Salts in Lemon Grass & Herb, White Birch and White Flower & Berry...


I really like the bath salts, they disolve and give a milky tint to the water. I feel these are quite moisturizing (especially compared to regular bath salts) and leave my skin soft and nicely scented. I use half a bag per bath which is easily enough to enjoy the scent/skincare properties.

-Murumuru Butter Lip Cream (SPF16) and Lip Balm (SPF11)...


the Lip Cream (in stick form) is unscented and offers decent sun protection for daily use. It makes my lips soft and supple.


The Lip Balm (in the tub) is a thicker slightly sticky balm with a sweet scent (very subtle) and is a perfect overnight treatment. I really love this!


I paid US$4.60 for the Lip Cream and US$5.50 for the balm.

-Cacaw Choco Esthe Treatment Scrub...


this is a deliciously smelling body scrub. The little peeling particles aren't that rough so it's a rather mild scrub in my opinion. Very good stuff and the chocolate scent is a pleasure to sniff in the shower!

Bison Grapia Peeling Massage Cream Programme EX - Stay away if your skin is sensitive!

Since my skin has been stable for the previous months I got a little more adventurous and decided to try a mild AHA peeling from Bison's Grapia line. Bison btw is the same company that makes Baby Pink and other cute little drugstore items(Murumuru Lip Butter etc.).
Grapia products contain Italian Fermented White Grape Essence. Sasa lists 4 products from this line.

The Grapia Peeling Massage Cream Programme EX (what a name!) comes in a huge 250g tub so you'll get plenty of uses out of it.
When I received this huge thing I thought I had mistakenly ordered a bodycare product but it's indeed meant for the face (Sasa says that this dissolved makeup and it's listed under skincare, not bodycare).


Anyway, you get a tub full of white cream heavily scented with a sweet artificial grape scent (Sanrio used to put a similar perfume in their cute little grape-scented fineliner pens I used to love when I was a kid!).
When I first scooped out some cream I thought it felt quite nice and thick. I applied to my face and massaged it as instructed on Sasa's website.

I then washed the gunk off and followed with my regular cleanser, toner and face care.
That's where the itching began! Before I used my toner (super mild stuff from Kanebo Freeplus) etc. I noticed that my skin felt tingly even though I had only used the Grapia stuff for less than a minute on my face. My skin felt itchy and big red bumps started to show after a few minutes.

Big no-no! I removed the tub from my bathroom right away as I am sure I will not use this again. I only wore a thin layer of cortisone cream with a layer of Hanskin Magic BB Cream the next 2 days because otherwise people would probably have run away screaming when they would have seen blotchy red me =(

I don't know if this is actually exfoliating but I can say that ladies with sensitive skin should not really consider buying this. The product got a positive review on Sasa though so perhaps it does work if your skin can tolerate it.
