Canmake Bright Up Base SPF15 PA++ in 01 Beige Pink

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!
Eid mubarak to all those who celebrate =)
I stopped by the Canmake "counter" in one of Hong Kong´s department stores when I was there so I picked up this Bright Up Base as it swatched really nicely.
You get a cute shiny pink box housing a simple light colored squeeze tube containing the Bright Up Base.

This is a makeup base which offer slight coverage to even out your skin and contains ingredients to keep your skin "happy".
Here are Canmake´s claims about this product!

This is a slick cream with a fair beige tint to it. What is a bit weird is that when applying it I get a sort of slightly grainy/scratchy feeling that I don´t like. I don´t know where this feeling comes from but it makes my skin feel slightly irritated.
This stuff is unscented and offers very light coverage to even out my skin. The finish is slightly shimmery but not too glittery in my opinion.

25g retail for 900 Yen so this is one of the more inexpensive Japanese beauty products. This product contains a SPF of 15 and PA++.

Overall this is a decent base but I don´t like the feel of this during application. After application the weird scratchy feeling is gone though.
I wouldn´t repurchase this as there are nicer cheap makeup bases (e.g. Media or Integrate) out there.

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Canmake Cheek & Cheek in 02 Rose Tiara

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!

I found a Canmake "counter" or rather stand (but with a Canmake sales person to assist in picking out products) in the Harbour Plaza Mall (in a big Japanese department store but can´t remember the name =X) and hauled some products (I even got a free hair care oil as I purchased stuff worth over HK$500), among them the new Cheek & Cheek blush in 02 Rose Tiara.

The cute little Cheek & Cheek blush consists of 2 colors encased in a clear plastic compact, including a quite soft but tiny blush brush.
This product contains jojoba oil, squalane, hyaluronic acid, cranberry extract, bilberry extract and rosemary leaf extract. Read about the virtues on Canmake´s website here!

This blush seems really finely milled and quite pigmented, especially for such an afforable item (RRP 680 Yen in Japan)! It applies smoothly and evenly and stays on well all day long (as long as my makeup doesn´t melt off in this unbearable heat hehe).
The finish this product creates is a softly shimmery but not too shiny or glittery look.

02 Rose Tiara is a pretty hot pink/light candy pink combo. I like either mixing the colors or use the lighter one like a highlighter. As mentioned it shows up well on my fair skin but can´t comment how it would perform on deeper skin-tones.

Overall a really nice blush with good color pay-off, good lasting power and a pretty glowy finish.

Canmake Melty Nude Lip in 03 Baby Pink

I picked up a few super nude lipsticks recently from Apopofkawaii and among them was this Melty Nude Lip from Canmake in the most popular color 03 Baby Pink.
All 4 available colors look really pale so I decided on 03 Baby Pink as it seems to be the only color with some subtle pink tones.
Check colors etc. here.

I think the Melty Nude Lip comes in cute packaging, I like the rosey peach metal tube and also the shape of the lipstick´s tip looks interesting.

The texture is creamy but not overly emollient. The lipstick feels comfortable to wear and doesn´t dry out my lips but it tends to look uneven after eating so it needs to be reapplied completely new, a touch-up won´t do in my opinion.
Like with other nude lipsticks it needs 3-4 minutes to melt into the skin so if it looks a bit weird at first after application give it a bit of time to adjust into an even color.

The color is quite opaque which means that such very pale nude color can look blotchy (as it might accumulate in fine lines etc.)...having healthy smooth lips and prepping the lips with a good lip base is a must in my opinion or it might end up looking chalky.

For me a pale lip is more high-maintenance than red lips. I hate when nude lipstick wears off on the inner part of the lips leaving a red ring. Checking the lips in the mirror from time to time is necessary to do quick touch-ups and keep my lips looking neat.
The Melty Nude Lip wears surprisingly well and stays looking smooth even for longer time and it vanishes without gunking up in certain areas.

03 Baby Pink is a very light beige with a subtle hint of pink. It looks quite nice when worn with a strong smokey eye makeup. It has a satin finish as it´s neither glossy nor chalky matte.

It´s still about a shade deeper than my skin so it doesn´t wash me out.

This lipstick is unscented and unflavored.

Overall a good choice if you want a nude lipstick. Since it´s affordable it´s great to have this in one´s stash for experimenting with the pale lipstick trend that´s going on in Japan right now.
I am definitely getting more and more fond of the pale lip look!

Canmake Cream Cheek in 02 Cherry Pink

I believe the Cream Cheek blushes from Canmake are very popular and much raved about. Of course that meant I have to try one, at least for the sake of this blog (and for pretty flushed cheeks of course hehe).
Read here is what Canmake has to say about this product.
The color I liked most was 02 Cherry Pink which looked like a pretty rich pink that should fit perfectly with my skin-tone.
The Cream Cheek comes in a cute little plastic case without any kind of applicator so you should use your fingers or a foundation/cream blush brush. I use my fingers and find the smooth pigmented texture spreads and applies absolutely evenly even when used on top of powder and not underneath. Though this blush is very pigmented so it will show up well even with powder on top (which helps to set the creamy color).
I find this lasts very well but right now the weather is very cool and rather dry so I don´t know how good the lasting power is in hot and humid weather.
The only thing I dislike about this blush - and actually this bugs me very much - are the huge pieces of golden glitter found in the blush. Even with powder on top the glitters show up and this is something just not very appropriate for me. I love fine shimmer on my face and would never wear flat matte makeup but I am just not a fan of glitter on my face.
The color 02 Cherry Pink is really a gorgeous rich pink color but the golden glitters sort of ruin it a bit for me. The glitter doesn´t show up well on the pic but it´s obvious once the color is spread.
I got this from Apopofkawaii.com.

Camake Gokubuto Mascara & Gokunobi Mascara

I picked up the Gokubuto & Gokunobi mascaras from Canmake recently (maybe you remember my Apopofkawaii haul).
The Gokubuto Mascara (volumizing) seems to be very popular and raved-about in Japan and on many beauty blogs and the Gokunobi Mascara (lengthening version) is getting more and more known, too.
Both of the mascaras come in a hot pink tube though slightly different shades of pink and the Gokunobi has a silver cap and is slim and long whereas the tube of the Gokubuto is short and fat. It bugs me a little that the design is a bit inconsistent but still both tubes look pretty and cheerful.

Gokubuto Mascara:
Here is what Canmake says about this product:
"Apply in layers for ultra-thick lashes! Achieve fluttery lashes!
The super-volumizing and curling mascara is here!
Film-type formulation that washes off with warm water☆
The powerful volume will give you the fluttering lashes.
・The thick liquid covers each lash, and as you apply more layers, you create the ultra-thick, super-volumized lashes!!!
Has a long-lasting curling effect, even though it’s a film-type mascara.
・Keeps your lashes looked as though you had only just curled them! Casts aside the image of film-type mascaras as being unable to maintain a great curl.
Can be washed off with warm water, so it's easy to remove your make-up
・Can be washed off quickly with warm water, without the need for a special eye make-up remover.
No need to scrub it off, so it’s kind to your eyes; recommended for those who use false lashes, lash extensions or other beauty salon treatments for lashes.
“Multi-proof” formulation
・Waterproof formulation that is resistant to tears, sweat and humidity.
・Resistant to sebum, so won’t run and leave you with panda eyes.
Special wave-shaped brush that takes up plenty of the liquid
・The soft brush takes up plenty of the mascara.
The wave section fits the shape of your eye perfectly, ensuring that the mascara coats your lashes without missing any.
Lash-conditioning effect
・Contains sodium hyaluronate (moisturizing agent).
Will not impose a burden on your lashes."

The mascara liquid is on the drier side which I actually prefer as those super wet formulas tend to be messy and they often weigh my lashes down which is something I absolutely detest when it´s about mascaras. On the other hand the drier mascaras need more layers to cover my lashes well enough to show up truly black.

What I really like about the Gokubuto is how it gives me a fan of well defined lashes and a bit of volume but still it´s a rather natural look.
The mascara doesn´t smudge or flake on me and washes off easily with just cleansing oil. It comes off in black flakes so good rinsing is necessary or you might get some of the black bits in your eyes.

Still this doesn´t give me wow-lashes like the Aube Couture Designing Mascara or Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo. It´s a good basic natural mascara which keeps the curl and gives a pretty soft fan of lashes but they don´t look super thick or lush in my opinion.

Gokunobi Mascara:

Canmake´s claims:
"The secret lies in the fibers and the rich, stretchy liquid ♡
With the dual effect of fibers and stretchy liquid, your lashes will be super-long, as though you’ve had lash extensions!!!
● Packed with fibers with a highly lengthening effect.
● The clay-like liquid flexibly coats your lashes, exerting a lengthening effect.
● Contains strong curling wax, so it also has a perfect curl-preserving effect ☆
Waterproof(*) formulation, but can be removed with warm water!
● Can be removed quickly with warm water, for simple make-up removal.
● Can be removed without the need to rub, so can be applied over false lashes or lash extensions ☆
● Waterproof formulation that is resistant to water and sebum."
On me the Gokunobi Mascara looks pretty much the same as the Gokubuto: soft natural nicely defined lashes. There is a light lengthening effect but it´s not really very strong or obvious in my opinion.

This also keeps the curl and doesn´t smudge but comes off easily. The brush design is different as it´s a straight brush but the overall result for me is similar.

This contains fibers and I had one stuck in my eye and irritating it a whole day long as i had no chance to remove my eye makeup but wasn´t able to wipe it out.

Both mascaras are designed to be used with false lashes and it takes me about 3 coats to get evenly black lashes.
The mascaras are very affordable as they retail for only 600 Yen/each.

Gokubuto:
Gokunobi:
Overall I´d say these are good mascaras for everyday but they are a bit lame and I just prefer stronger lashes. When layering Gokunobi over Gokubuto the effect is better so in conjunction I give them:

First haul from Apopofkawaii.com

Apopofkawaii is one of the newest Japanese makeup shops I believe. Sometimes there are blogger specials posted here but this haul was a regular purchase from the website.
I like the website as it looks cute and pink and all that =) Service was excellent, too, as everything was shipped out within 2 days after ordering and arrived just a week later (I used the regular airmail service).

I placed an order for some Canmake goodies and an Integrate eyeshadow palette and everything came cutely (piggy gift bag) and securely (bubble-wrap) packed. I also received a pack of blotting paper as an extra!

I am definitely going to order from the site again, in fact I already did as I took advantage of the last blogger offer hehe =)

Anyways, this is what I ordered:
-Canmake Gokunobi Mascara
-Canmake Gokubuto Mascara (had to order these 2 as I see them on other blogs so I am reallllllly curious for them)
-Canmake Cream Cheek 02 Cherry Pink (looks very nice so far!)

-Canmake Melty Nude Lip in 03 Baby Pink (very pale stuff!!)
-Integrate Rainbow Grade Eyes VI708
´
Will review the stuff individually once I tried them =) The cheek color and eyeshadow palette are definitely winners as far as I can judge right now.

Canmake Glossy Holic Lips in 02 Lollipop Pink

Canmake released a cute new small collection of lip glosses called Glossy Holic Lips promising to be lipgloss, lipbalm and sun protection, all in 1 product.

There are 4 colors, all on the transparent light side (beige, pink, orange and milky pink). I chose 02 Lollipop Pink as I felt it was the most suitable color for me.

The Glossy Holic Lips comes in a normal clear squeeze tube with a slanted plastic applicator.
It has a light sweet scent reminding me slightly of cherries but with a plastic-y overlay. Otherwise there is no flavor to the gloss.

The color I chose is a very sheer shimmery pink. I´d have liked a little more color but for just swiping a layer on before I go out it´s a good choice. I like using the Glossy Holic Lips on my no-makeup days when I just apply BB Cream and lip balm.

The gloss is a bit sticky, not overly much in my opinion and lasts decently. The finish is very glossy and shiny. I feel it gives moisture to my lips as they are always smooth and soft when this stuff wears off.

This product contains SPF 15 PA++ so it offers a bit sun protection.

All in all I quite like this and can recommend throwing a tube of this in your purse.
Retails for 504 Yen, I got mine from Ichibankao for 1000 Yen incl. shipping.
