Spring 2010: Kiss Cosmetics Lip Chocolat Treatment UV & Pure Bloom Cheeks C

Kiss´ collections are usually really tiny consisting just of a few items. This spring it´s no different =) The collection consists of 2 items: Lip Chocolat Treatment UV and Pure Bloom Cheeks C in 01. Both items are a limited edition and will only be here while stock lasts.

I picked up both because I love last year´s Lip Chocolat Treatment and the Pure Bloom Cheeks are pretty much some of the best blushes out there (especially as they are affordably priced). I love the Kiss blushes so much that I only took those to my 1 month holiday in Egypt and both colors worked with all the lippies I brought with me (reviews are here and here).

The Lip Chocolat Treatment UV contains a measly SPF 10 PA+ which isn´t that much but better than nothing anyway =) You wouldn´t go to the beach or skiing with this I think though!

Admittedly lat year´s tube was a bit cuter (pink and some more colors) but this year´s has a better applicator (just a slanted one anyway).
The tube contains 8g and costs 1000 Yen. There is a little pouch included (this also comes with the blush) which is downright flimsy and cheap. I don´t see really the purpose for this and I would have preferred a cute box like last year.

The Lip Chocolat Treatment UV has the same delicious strawberry chocolate scent and a very light sweet flavour, too. It´s really yummy and not gross like some other chocolate flavors tend to be!
The texture is similar to last year´s, too. It´s a rather slick very glossy balm that looks great worn alone or makes a nice base for lipstick when blotted a bit. I think it´s pretty nicely moisturizing but I don´t have dry lips at all (I think this comes from contant lipstick-gloss-balm wearing) but I think slathering this on dry lips would feel nice and soothing.

The Pure Bloom Blush comes in a deep brown case instead of the usual tacky gold. Still the compact looks cheap but the imprint on the blushes is really cute (like quilted with hearts). Like the other Pure Bloom blushes each compact contains 2 colors, a lighter and a darker one but the lighter is not light enough to be a highlighter (for me at least).

The texture is silky smooth and the finish is this kind of pretty glow I love so much! The blush has decent pigment and can be layered.
The color of this limited edition blush is a very nice neutral pink beige which looks just gorgeous! I really love this as the color is so flattering and in the same time natural.

The blush retails for 1400 Yen and contains 3.4g. I got mine from Ichibankao. Might be that Adambeauty will stock this soon, too (he carries Kiss and got the last collections in, too).

So overall this is a pretty nice spring release and highly recommended!

Spring 2009: Kiss Pure Bloom Cheeks 05 & Rouge Kiss Melting Touch 06

So, finally back from the hospital =D Everything worked out perfectly (my surgery was on Monday) and I feel quite well today. I am already at home (there were 2 packages from Japan waiting containing wonderful body soaps and shampoos!) and wearing makeup today lol!

Time to get back to blogging!

I purchased 2 of Kiss' new spring items recently from Ichibankao so it's about time to review them.
Kiss revamped their lipstick line releasing 2 new ranges (Rouge Kiss and Rouge Kiss G). I've always loved Kiss' lipsticks so I definitely was interested in trying out one of the new lippies.

I also got the new Pure Bloom Cheeks shade 05 Cherry Blossom as it looked like a cute light pink that was sure to flatter my complexion. I really love my 01 Bougainvillea blush I reviewed here and 05 is absolutely adorable, too!

-Rouge Kiss Melting Touch:

The pink metal tube is very similar to their older range of lipsticks. Pretty and princessy but in a simple and subtle way.
The lipstick is quite pigmented with a nice creamy and quite moisturizing formula and a super light fruity scent.

The color 06 Berry Kiss is a pretty medium berry red with subtle brown tones. I'd say this color is quite neutral, neither too warm not cool.

-Pure Bloom Cheeks:

The blusher comes in a simple plastic compact. I think Kiss could have invented something prettier for their blushers like their eyeshadow quad cases but with the embossed hearts the blush looks cute nonetheless.
The brush is surprisingly soft but a bit too small to be of real use. It will do the trick when you're on the go though.

The blush is finely milled and carries decent pigment. You get a light shade you can use as a highlighter and a blusher. You can also swirl the colors together to make the blush a little lighter.
The colors of #05 Cherry Blossom are a beautiful light pink and a pale fleshy pink shade. The finish is a soft satin glow. Very lovely!

I really can recommend both items. Adambeauty doesn't carry the items yet but Ichibankao has them listed on the site.

I also purchased the mascara value pack from Kiss! It comes with the Volume & Glamorous Curl WP mascara and their Mascara Remover and retails for only 1680 Yen. This means you only pay like 200 Yen for the Mascara Remover (about US$2!). However sure online you'll pay quite a bit more but it still works out to be a nice deal all in all.

Let me tell you that the mascara is really great! It gives very good volume and holds the curl.

I don't experience smudging, flaking or fading all day long.

The Mascara Remover doesn't convince me really.

It can do its work in an emergency case but for removing my mascara with it daily this is much too time-consuming as I have to apply like 5 coats of the remover and wipe in between to get most of the mascara off.

Spring 2009: Kiss Chocolat Collection: Lip Chocolat Treatment Strawberry Chocolat

I haven't purchased anything from Kiss for nearly a year I guess (last was the fabulous Bougainvillea blush I reviewed some time ago). Kiss usually releases smaller collections with just a few products so ever since I stocked up on their products with the help of my friend Iris about 2 years ago I got pretty much everything I liked from Kiss.

However this Spring they released this super yummy looking lip balm/gloss thingy in a cute little squeeze tube so I really was extremely delighted to find it listed (under "Isehan" along with Elizabeth and Kiss Me) on Adambeauty for only US$11.50 (retail is 1050 Yen = approx. US$11.60) so incl. shipping you will even pay a little less than if you went to the Japanese drugstore yourself =) I love Adam, I just wish he would update with new products quicker!

The Chocolat Collection (the missing "e" in chocolat is intended as it's French) also offers 2 new eyeshadow duos (Dual Chocolat Eyes) but both look a bit bland and each duo comes with a powder and a cream shadows so I am not sure how they'd perform. I am generally not a fan of Kiss' eyeshadows but I still might pick up one of the duos just to try!

First off I have to say that if you need to find a cute little gift this Lip Chocolat Treatment is the PERFECT choice. It is presented in a very pretty sturdy little box just like precious little pralines!

The tube is a cute soft squeeze tube with a slim nozzle so you have to squeeze the balm on your finger to apply it. I like that but some might find that annoying or bothersome.

The Lip Chocolat Treatment is a sticky pale milky pink gel which applies very smoothly and leaves a very glossy shine. It's like a long-lasting clear gloss with moisturizing properties to me.
The color doesn't show up on my lips so it looks just clear.

The scent and flavor are very delicious! It really smells like strawberry chocolate and has a sweet taste.

All in all this product truly rocks and I already ordered a backup as this is Limited Edition so get one while you can!

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Kiss Cosmetics Pure Bloom Cheeks

I've been falling a bit out of love with Kiss Cosmetics, but not for a really specific reason.
Their newest blush, Pure Bloom Cheeks, was released quite some time ago but the casing and whole thing didn't appeal enough to me to order it.
Anyways, when checking out adambeauty.com I stumbled across their Kiss section (it's under Other Brands -> Isehan -> Kiss) and found the blush in 01 Bougainvillea quite pretty so I ordered it. It cost me US$14.50 shipped which is a good price (retail is 1470 Yen so you get a good deal on AB).

The blush comes in a golden plastic case with a clear flip top. There are 3 colors in each of the 4 blush combinations available.

#01 Bougainvillea has a really pretty bright fresh pink on one side and a soft peachy pink on the other. I usually swirl them together or I apply the lighter shade all over my cheeks and the hot pink just on the apples.
The blush is finely milled with a soft and very pigmented texture and it's a breeze to apply this evenly. It leaves a soft shimmery glow but without obvious glitter.

All in all I can really recommend this blush and I will probably get at least #04 Rose later.
