BB Creams: Quick Comparison VII

***Please click on the Label "BB Cream Quick Comparison Series" to read my other BB Cream posts***

As promised here are the other 6 BB Creams I wanted to review.
Most of this batch don't work for me because either the color or texture doesn't suit me.

1: Hanskin Water Action BB Cream SPF27 PA++ 43.5g:

This BB Cream doesn't work for me for several reasons.
First it's so thin and sheer it's totally useless. If I use BB Cream I want some coverage and the new Hanskin BB Cream doesn't provide anything but super sheer coverage.
The other reason is that even though it's super sheer it manages to make my face look orange and weird.
A big nay from me.
The texture is very lightweight thus probably more suitable for oilier skin-types. This carries a light scent and cost me about 22000 Won if I remember correctly.

2: Skin79 Dream Girls BB SPF30 PA++ 43.5g:

Lightweight O/W formula suitable more for oilier skin-types. Offers UVA and UVB protection.
Contains Papaya extract and licorice.
This lightly scented BB Cream is supposed to be formulated for younger girls who need little coverage and more oil control.
Even though the cream looks very pale on the swatch it oxidizes quickly to a darker brown color (you can see it on the bottom of the swatch) so it's not working for me.
Definitely don't like this because of sheer coverage and bad color match.
I purchased this as a special set containing 2 of the BB Creams and a Crystal Pact (which also is too dark for me). all cost me 22000 Won so it was an utter waste of money.

3: BRTC Jasmin Water BB Cream SPF30 40ml:

I had this on my Gmarket wishlist for about 2 months now and just never ordered it because 39000 Won seemed a bit pricey for a BB Cream.
Anyway, I finally caved and ordered it as it came with a free lipgloss (1 color, out of 3, randomly selected) and I had tried a sample of this before and liked it.
First this comes in a very pretty pearly lavender squeeze tube and has the prettiest scent of all BB Creams. The soft Jasmin scent is very pleasant and calming.
The BB Cream contains 5% Jasmin water and has the added benefits of whitening, reducing wrinkles and sun protection (no PA listed though).
I actually am not sure yet if this BB Cream works for me. While it's quite light-toned it has rather strong orange tones I feel get a bit obvious on my skin. The medium coverage and beautiful softly dewy finish is very pretty and you notice that this is a high-quality thus pricier BB Cream but I am just not sure if the color is really right.
This feels very moisturizing but not sticky or heavy.
I paid 39000 Won for the BB Cream and a gloss (sure they sent me the clear gloss which is something I never use anyway *sigh*)

4: Zamian Magic Cacao Whitening BB Cream Shining Water 43.5g:

I never heard of this brand before and stumbled across their BB Cream more on coincidence.
I ordered the BB Cream for 18000 Won and it also came with a huge tube of Gold Cacao face mask, a big tube of cleansing foam and 2 bars of hand made soap. Quite worthwhile.
However the BB Cream is the most disappointing item of the lot as it's just downright too orange for me, even though it looks lighter in the swatch.
The BB Cream has a very faint scent which is quite pleasant among the rows of heavily fragranced BB Creams.
The finish of this is satiny, not really dewy nor matte.

5: Begin My Pride BB Sun Blemish Balm SPF46 PA++ 50ml:

I ordered couple of kits from Begin My Pride, a brand I had never heard of before. I have to say their lipglosses and mascara are great and their powder is good, too.
However the BB Cream totally fails for me as it's too dark.
Since it's so dark I washed it off right away so can't say much about its qualities.
It's lightly fragranced and offers medium coverage if I remember right.
I paid 29000 Won and the BB Cream came with another full size BB Cream, a volume mascara (quite good), a loose highlighter and a little puff and brush.
(Btw the design reminds me of Elisha Coy! Especially the logo!)

6: Enprani Super Aqua BB SPF27 PA++:

I reviewed this already here.
It looks very pale and I can wear this, at least as makeup base but it's very sheer and I prefer BB Creams offering more coverage.
I will keep this and try using it up but definitely won't repurchase.

If you have very dry or mature skin I might suggest you try out Enprani S,Claa Revive Blemish Recover. It's a super rich thick moisturizing BB Cream with medium coverage. It was way too rich for my skin but if you're seriously dry this would be a good choice.
I have one sample sachet I can mail to someone who's interested. Just email me at lotuspalace@gawab.com.

BB Creams: Quick comparison III

I compared a total of 17 BB Creams so far, and today I am presenting you 5 more reviews. I actually have reviewed 4 of them already but I personally think it's helpful to see their swatches side by side. I won't go into details as I thoroughly reviewed them already and I will provide you with the links to my reviews.

Read more here:
BB Creams: Quick Comparison (7 different BB Creams)
BB Creams: Quick Comparison II (10 different BB Creams)

1: Cathy Cat Colorist It BB Cream Season 2 SPF10:

I have already reviewed this here.
It's a thick balmy cream with sheer-medium coverage which makes my skin feel super smooth but it's more suitable for colder months due to the thick texture.
70ml

2: Cosline Total Sun Base 3 in 1 SPF36 PA++:

I have already reviewed this here.
This is super sheer and has a weird light peachy color. Has good sun protection so it's a decent sun cream but doesn't perform like a real BB Cream.
70g

3: Skin79 Lovely Girl BB Cream:

This is brand new and I haven't reviewed this yet. I got this together with a BB Pact from Skin79 for around US$13 or so so it was very cheap for me. It comes in a cute light pink squeeze tube with silver butterflies and hearts printed on.
The box says that this products is soothing redness, irritated skin and provides even coverage.
It contains Mulberry and Marigold extract. It's supposed to control oil through their porosity powder and naturally covers blemishes while providing your skin with moisture through added Chlorella extract and Herb Complex.
This BB Cream is formulated for younger girls but hey, even at age 27 I love cute packaging =P
The cream has a light pleasant scent, fresh and slightly fruity. It's a rather thick cream with little bit of a waxy feeling. However the coverage isn't bad (about sheer-medium) and the color match is very good for me.
The squeeze tube has the annoying habit to ooze a bit so the cap gets messy quickly if you don't wipe it after every use.
All in all this is a good basic BB Cream for starters and young girls.
50g

4: Jadilla J Whitening BB Plus SPF30 PA++:

I already reviewed this here.
This is the darkest BB Cream in today's lot of 5 BB Creams but the color match is fine and the coverage is good (about medium). Comes in 2 colors of which I chose #1.
50ml

5: Lotree SPF21 BB Primer Tinted Control Base:

I have already reviewed this here.
Lightweight BB Cream with sheer-medium coverage and quite pale color.
Deluxe sample size 16ml

I want to add that none of my BB Creams lasts more than 5 hours (now in the still somewhat hot and sweaty summer weather) unless I set them with a bit of powder or twin/triple cake powder. Then they last pretty much all day long. I think now that the weather starts to turn cool and will stay cold for the next half year it might be not necessary to set the BB Cream.
My face makeup routine currently consists of makeup base, BB Cream, concealer, powder (or triple cake etc.) blush and highlighter and I am very happy with the results.

Skin79 Sweet Honey Sugar Scrub & Rose Moisture Mask

Black sugar masks seem to be a hit in Korea. I've seen various brands offering black sugar scrubs (Hanskin, Skin Food etc.) so I finally decided to get one when I saw Skin79's version of it (and it came with a free mini BB Cream, too).

-Sweet Honey Sugar Scrub:
Skin79 claims that the Sweet Honey Sugar Scrub accelerates skin's rejuvenation process. The ingredients are neutral and non-irritating and provide a deep cleansing action. The scrub contains black sugar, honey, olive oil, rice extract, rose oil, macadamia nut oil, Vitamin E, Jojoba Oil, cacao extract, lavender water, marigold ad chamomile water.

This is a quite rough thick paste but the sugar granules melt during scrubbing and the oils prevent too much scratching. I massage this about half a minute-1 minute gently into my facial skin (but first wet it a bit) and it gets really super soft.
This smells really yummy, a bit like cereals with honey.
All in all it's worth picking up a jar and using it 1-2 a week for glowy soft skin.

The jar contains 100ml and comes with a little spoon. I take about one spoon full which is not a lot of product so the jar will probably last me several months with 1-2x/week use. I paid around 9000 Won for my pot w/ free BB Cream.

-Rose Moisture Mask - Home Self Spa:
This came as part of a 3-piece set containing the mask, a tube of my beloved Classic Intense UV BB Cream and a lipgloss all for 22000 Won. So it was a very sweet deal.

The box says:
"This smoothing mask makes your skin feel even more moisturized and relieved with an excellent moisturizing effect of Rose ingredient. It is a wash-off type mask with ingredients of leaves of Rose evening out your skin tone and refreshing skin. The Rose aroma enhances pleasantness when using it and extracts from Cucumber and Aloe make your skin feel refreshed.
After cleansing apply a thick layer to the skin avoiding eye and lip area. Rise after 10-15 mins with lukewarm water."

This is a thick sticky gel with a fine rose scent. It feels smooth and cool when I apply this and it's really refreshing. My skin feels soft when using this so I am very pleased with the result.
Comes in a heavy 75ml glass jar with a spoon for hygienic usage.

Skin79 Body Emulsion & Hand Cream

I generally don't pay so much attention to Korean or Japanese body care but on my last Gmarket spree I decided to order a body lotion and hand cream set from Skin79 as it cost only 9900 Won and looked nice in their mint colored packaging.

-Body Emulsion:
This is a lightweight yet moisturizing body moisturizer.
The products claims:
-24hrs moisture due to Imperata Cylindrica Root extract
-Amino Acid Complex locks moisture, increases and prevents loss of moisture
-Vitamin E for firm and smooth skin
Other ingredients I see are Papaya and Witch Hazel

This is a very smooth lotion with a very pleasant light scent that reminds me of lavender and lemon but only very faint. I love the scent as it's refreshing and not causing me headaches (a common problem for me with most perfumes and strongly scented products).
The lotion sinks in my skin quickly and leaves it soft and moisturized.
It's a very good basic daily lotion and looks pretty on my bed-side table.
Comes in a practical pump-dispenser bottle and contains 300ml.

-Hand Cream:
Contains: Shea Butter, Macadamia Nut Oil, Polyglutamic Acid and Betaine.
The box says that this provides long-lasting nourishment and softens and repairs damaged skin.
I think this is the best Hand Cream I found in the previous years. It's a very thick cream but my hands feel like silk for several hours after applying this. And they are still smooth after the cream vanishes.
I will definitely order the 1+1 free pack for 4800 Won soon to distribute the cream to some strategical places all over my home =P
Contains 40g.

There is also a Foot & Heel Cream available I want to give a try soon, too.

BB Creams: Quick comparison II

I already did a post on 7 BB creams and here is my 2nd part presenting you another 10 mini reviews and swatches.

If you're new to BB Creams please click on the link above where I explain what are the benefits and purposes of BB Creams.

1: Etude BB Bright Cream:

Comes in a cute pink squeeze tube with black pump dispenser. Has a light herbal scent and contains 60ml. I honestly can't say much about how this performs as it's downright too dark for me so I haven't really worn this. Medium thick cream feels smooth upon application. Offers sheer-medium coverage.
Not sure about retail, probably somewhere around 10000-15000 Won

2: Dodo Club BB Cream:

This is a 4-in-1 product:
-Essential Cream
-Sun Care
-Makeup Base
-Foundation
Oddly I don't see a sunscreen level listed at all. This looks quite pale at first but oxidizes to a dark orange pink which is not very flattering on me.
Can't say more about how this performs as obviously I didn't wear it really.
This was quite cheap from sasa.com (I think around US$12 for 60ml). Dodo Club is a brand I will skip from now on. I tried several items and all were crap.
Thick creamy texture with a slightly sticky feeling and a bit hard to blend.
Has a light fragrance and comes in a simple (and ugly) squeeze-tube.

3: Skin79 Derma RX Beblesh Balm SPF15:

Contains Co-Enzyme Q10 (against free radicals), Arbutin (whitening) and SPF15. The box says it's antimicrobial so it's good to use on acne and irritated skin.
I didn't really test-drive this as again it's too dark for me. Smells slightly medicinal and is probably a good choice for women with a slightly tanner skin-tone.
Contains 43.5g and retails for 35000 Won (it runs usually much cheaper on ebay, skin79's website and Gmarket). I got mine as a part of a set of 3 products for 22000 Won for all 3.
Comes in a simple squeeze-tube.

4: Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm BB Triple Functions SPF25 PA++:

I already reviewed this here and compared it to the golden version.

5: Skin79 Diamond Collection The Prestige Beblesh Balm SPF25 PA++:

I already reviewed this here along with the rest of the Diamond Collection so please click to read more.

6: Skin79 Intense Classic Balm UV SPF20 PA++:

This is a very basic BB cream with a short list of ingredients.
The box claims this is
-UV protecting (SPF20 PA++)
-Calming
-Concealing, creating an even skin tone and texture
-Protects against free radicals and harmful environment
Now this might sound odd but this is my favorite BB Cream from Skin79 and one of my favorites altogether. It's quite thick and offers really good coverage, better than most of the other BB Creams. Furthermore it's one of the palest BB Creams so it's a good color match.
Contains 43.5g and retails for 28000 Won even though it's usually selling for less than half on Gmarket. Mine was a free gift with the purchase of the diamond collection.
Comes in a hygienic simple squeeze-tube and has a pleasant light scent.

7: Lioele Beyond The Solution BB Cream:

While this has a really pleasant light silky texture and blends really well I have come to the conclusion that this is a bit too dark for me. I can wear it but it's not the best color-match and will be unwearable for me in winter when my skin is even paler.
It's a shame as this is an excellent product otherwise.
You can read more about it here.

8: Banila Co Let Me Finish Multiple BB Cream SPF27 PA++:

I was actually quite sure that this would be too dark as the other items I tried (Mineral Pact and the concealer in the lightest color) are way too dark for me. To my surprise the BB Cream is quite light and a very good color match for me. I chose the version with sunscreen which is more expensive but I just prefer to have the sun screen in the BB cream so I can skip 1 step in the morning.
Comes in a pretty squeeze-tube with pump dispenser and has the typical light Banila Co fragrance added. The texture of this is rather lightweight and the coverage is sheer. Overall a pretty good BB Cream.
The tube contains only 35 ml and retails for 25000 Won which is a lot for the small amount.

9: Innisfree Trouble Care BB Cream SPF 27 PA++:

This is one of the cheapest BB Creams (retail price, not what I paid) I have as it retails for only 10000 Won. Furthermore it comes in one of the prettiest tubes with pump dispenser.
Contains Tea Tree Oil, Lily Extract and some other plant stuff so it smells slightly herbal. I had a sample of this and the color match and soft feeling skin convinced me that I needed the full-size.
I read somewhere that this is not recommended for normal-dry but only for combination-oily skin-types. I don't see why as my skin tolerates the cream very well without any problems and feels moisturized all the time when wearing it.
The coverage it offers is sheer-medium.
Contains 35ml but for 10000 Won that's fair.

10: Hanskin Magic BB Cream:

I just reviewed this yesterday so please click here to read.
I want to add that this is the palest BB Cream of the lot and the best color match beside Missha M Perfect Cover in #21.

All in all I have now a wide variety of BB Creams that match my skin-tone and type. Most are on the thicker side and quite emollient and moisturizing.

My top 5 would be:
-Missha M Perfect Cover #21
-Hanskin Magic BB Cream
-Skin79 Intense Classic Balm UV
-Innisfree Trouble Care BB Cream
-Banila Co Let Me Finish BB Cream
(the next 3 would be the golden and pink ones from Skin79 and the Diamond Prestige BB Cream)

I have tried samples of a few more BB Creams. I want to add that BRTC Jasmin Water BB Cream is a very good pale choice, too, and smells lovely due to the Jasmin added.
I also tried Missha M Vita BB Cream but it was too dark.

Here are some of the haul pics for your viewing pleasure =P

My 2nd Gmarket order =)

Today I received my 2nd Gmarket order and I am really thrilled. This time I ordered from 4 sellers so it took a bit longer till all the items arrived in the Gmarket headquarters to be packed for international shipping but today everything came in the morning and I am really happy with the stuff I picked. I love paying retail (+actual shipping) and receiving great GWPs from the sellers (Etude House was very generous!).

Here's a first pic of some of the stuff. More pics/reviews will follow later.

Skin79 Super+ Beblesh Balm Golden & Pink version comparison

When I started getting into BB Creams I was pondering whether to get the pink or golden Super+ BB cream from Skin79.

I finally settled on the Gold Label VIP Gold Collection as it seemed to have more great ingredients like gold and caviar extract.

Furthermore I was told that the pink version is dreadfully dark so it wouldn't be suitable for my pale skin-tone.

The VIP Gold Collection is a perfect color match for me so I decided to jump into the cold water and order the pink one, too.

Now I am going to compare both:

Packaging:
Both BB Creams come in a great bulky pump-dispenser bottle which looks really luxurious and prettier than most of the regular squeeze-tubes. So packaging is equally good in both versions
Price:
Regular retail for the
Super+ Beblesh Balm Gold Label is a whopping 53000 Won (about US$55) and 52000 Won for the Super Plus Beblesh Balm Triple Function (Hot Pink collection) as listed on the website. I paid less than US$20/each on ebay so they're not that expensive in my opinion.
It seems that most Skin79 items are actually freaking expensive if you pay their retail price but come in extremely discounted kits or are sold from time to time at 70-80% or so off (like discounted from 50000 Won to 10000 which is a HUGE amount)

Ingredients/benefits:
The golden version contains Adenosine, Arbutin (whitening and anti-wrinkle), UV-A and UV-B sunscreen (SPF25 PA++), Gold and Caviar extracts, Osmopur (various plant extracts), Phyto Complex and some other things good for your skin.
The pink version contains Adenosine, Arbutin, UV-A and UV-B protection (SPF25 PA++), Osmopur (various plant extracts) and Phyto Complex.
Both claim to be whitening, wrinkle-reducing and protecting from the harmful sun rays.
While the ingredients listed on the boxes are very different/in different orders both BB creams feel about the same to me.

Color:
I was really scared the pink version might really be the "dark chocolate" color it was described to me.
In fact both are about the same color and if my eyes are not wonky then the pink one seems to be even slightly lighter.
Both creams are rather neutral-slightly pink toned and pale so they blend into my natural skin color perfectly.

Coverage:
Both offer sheer-medium coverage so major skin troubles won't be covered.

Wear/feel:
To me both feel the same when on.Both are slightly thicker creams that spread evenly without much effort.

All in all they're pretty equal to me. The pink bottle looks cooler but the added caviar and gold extracts make the golden seem more luxurious.
Anyway, either is a good choice in my opinion.

Swatches in artificial/flash light:
Gold collection is on top and pink version on the bottom:

Under bright daylight: (Gold is left, pink is right)

Skin79 BB Diamond Collection

From today on I am the proud owner of diamonds. Well, I have diamonds but none that I can smear on my face.

I got the pretty Diamond Collection from Skin79 from Gmarket as I noted below and I'm very pleased that a week after ordering the kit I am able to review it.

My main worry was that the BB cream and other items would be too dark and/or orange-toned. I read in other places that Skin79 BB creams are the darkest on the market and not suitable for light skin-tones.
Honestly the ones I have tried as of today are all some of the palest BB creams and among the least yellow-toned so they're perfect for me.
You'll soon find me doing another BB cream comparison as I acquired quite a few more since my last BB Cream post.

The BB Diamond Collection contains 8 products and I also got 1 full-sized and one trial-sized gifts with it. The kit costs 69000 Won (around US$70) which is the same price as on the official Skin79 website.

The individual retail prices seem to be very high (like over 50000 Won for the BB cream etc.) but some of the products in the kit are discounted on the website right now. However the kit still saves some €€ and I believe it's a fantasic value for he price (the value of the 8 Diamond products is almost 300000 Won so around US$300 which is an outrageous price!)

1:
Sun Protection Balm Moist SPF50+ PA+++:

This is an interesting product. The box claims that this sun protection balm is stronger than other sunscreens and that it has a double effect against UV rays. It's a thick light purple solid balm that you apply with the enclosed sponge after your skincare.

This goes on really smoothly and feels smooth and light. It goes on clear, I haven't noticed any white cast when wearing this.
20g

2:
The Prestige Beblesh Balm:

I've seen this on eBay in regular pink squeeze tubes but the one in the kit comes in a very elegant pink bottle.
The 3 benefits of this product are:
-Wrinkle Improvement
-Whitening
-UV Protection SPF25 PA++ (UV-A and UV-B)

It contains Adenosine, Arbutin, Diamond Powder, Jewel Complex Powder of Ruby, Amethyst and Pearl and some plant and other ingredients (I see Caviar, Aloe, Camellia and some other stuff listed on the box)

This is a really light-toned BB cream that leaves a dewy shine. The coverage is sheer-medium so if you have real skin troubles this will not suffice to cover it well.
40g

3:
Perfect Cover Beblesh Balm:

This is a concealer with more coverage than the BB cream. The box says it's for covering blemish parts, freckles etc.
I was astonished about the odd color of this. It's a strange orange-yellow rather dark cream. The even weirder thing is that it applies rather light and just slightly peachy on my skin so I can actually use it. It blends in well into my natural skin-tone.

The concealing strength of this is good but I didn't apply too much as I don't want the yellow tones to get obvious.
10g

4:
Luminous Pearl Beblesh Balm:

The box says that this is a trendy pearl BB Cream that has a light and moist feeling and brilliant pearl to make skin appear luminous.
It comes filled in a big brush with push button on the bottom. It's like the Silky Highlighter BB Touch from Lioele but the Skin79 version is lighter and sheerer so it's a better color match for me.

It's a shimmery pearl cream you apply on the forehead, nose bridge, cheeks and chin for highlighting effects.
20ml

5:
UV Screen Pact SPF22 PA++:

On the box it claims that the powder pact effectively protects against UV-A and UV-B rays and that Diamond Powder, Jewel Complex (Ruby, Amethyst and Pearl) give a radiant finish.

A pressed powder compact to use as last step. In my opinion a powder is needed if you use all the other items I described above as otherwise you'll end up looking greasy.
The UV Screen BB Pact is a medium-coverage powder but it's a tad bit yellow. Ir blends into my skin-tone but it's not the best powder pact I tried. Also the puff that comes with it smells like fish (yes, fish). It's just the material it's made of but it's a yucky smell so I applied this with a brush.
The result is satiny skin with a very light yellow undertone. Due to the slightly yellow tint this is my least favorite item of the lot.
This got cakey after some hours of wear so it's definitely not the best powder out there.
13g

6:
Star Glow Cheek:

This is a really cute blush compact consisting of white, beige, pinky peach and orangey peach. The overall result is a soft shimmery peach which is really pretty and flattering.

The box states that this consists of natural pink and orange to express a 3D effect with fine pearl to create glossiness and shimmer. It supposedly gives more radiance and vitality as a finishing touch for facial makeup.

Like all the products this contains diamond powder and the Jewel Complex.
10g

7:
Star Glow Ball Powder:

This is a highlighter that is pressed into little pastel-colored beads like Guerlain Meteorites or other similar products released by many companies.

According to the box this makes your skin look bright, shining, mysterious and attractive. It gives a translucent effect and corrects facial contours.

All in all this is a nice basic shimmery highlighter that applies as a translucent white on me. It's a pretty addition to the kit and a good finishing touch after applying the other items.
14g

8:
Luminous Body Bronz Balm:
This is a soft shimmery bronzing gel for the body, especially the arms, legs and shoulders.

Contains caviar extract and Q10 to moisturize and nourish the skin.
The color of this is a light peachy bronze, it looks really pretty when applied.
45g

One of the gifts in my kit was the Intense Classic Balm UV SPF20 PA++ which is a basic BB cream.
It has the benefits of UV Protection, Calming and Concealing.
On the box it says it is perfect for covering acne, couperose, vitiligo, age spots, sun spots and dark circles.
It's not pore-clogging and soothes irritated skin and furthermore it fights against free radicals.

This has a very fine herbal scent and comes in a rather light pinkish color, similar to the other Skin79 BB creams I tried from Skin79.
From swatching it I'd say it gives medium coverage but I have to try it on my face to confirm that.
43.5g

The other gift was a miniature Super+ BB Triple Function SPF25 PA++ in the Hot Pink version (which I just ordered and received today, too).
I love the Korean companies for giving us cute sample tubes in useful sizes even with a small string to attach it to your mobile phone, key bunch or purse. I have now 2 BB creams, a sun cream and 2 lip glosses to attach to whatever I want hehe.

All in all I am really thrilled with the beautiful kit and know that I will get good use out of it.

Of course I haven't tried these items on the long run so I can't say if they will irritate my skin or not (as it's quite sensitive). Someone told me that she got red bumps from using Skin79 products so sure it depends on your skin-type.
