Sana Moroha Eyeliner Liquid x Pencil

One of my favorite recent beauty find has to be the Sana Moroha Eyeliner Liquid x Pencil. It's very practical to have a super fine waterproof black liquid liner similar to my favorite Kate Supersharp and a pink highlighting pencil to use on inner rims in one pen.


I have seen this on adambeauty in other combinations of black x white and black x black but they're constantly sold out.
Sasa.com stocks this pencil, too, for about US$16.

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Canmake Four Shiny Eyes

Canmake is a very affordable drugstore brand in Japan that offers a huge selection of products.

I am not really a fan of Canmake makeup though. There are some products I love and use on a regular basis e.g. their Shiny Underliner for Eyes which is one of my staple inner rim highlighting eyeliner (3 colors: peach, pink and white available) but the overall quality of the whole line is mediocre so you get what you pay for.


For Summer 2008 they released a pretty line of eye palettes called Four Shiny Eyes with a compact that doesn't look as flimsy as the other eyeshadow cases. I am not fond of Canmake's eyeshadows in general but I thought it's really cheap (costs just around US$6 in Japan however I paid US$13 shipped from ichibankao) and the color combination in 02 Choco Mint (white/light green/light aqua/dark greenish brown) looked fresh and pretty for summer so I ended up ordering it.

The pigment is sheer-medium but can be built up a bit. I layered each color 2-3 times and achieved a pretty but not overly bright greenish aqua look. The darkest shade is a bit more pigmented than the other 3 but for me it's not strong enough as a liner so I use the darkest color in the crease.
The shadows are very shimmery and have some fine glitter throughout.
You need to dig a bit into the shadow with your brush or sponge applicator to pack pigment so there is a small dent in the shadows quickly.
Texture-wise it's not silky nor overly soft but has a slightly creamy feel. It's very hard to describe honestly but I like it.
The shadow doesn't really fade much and I have no problems with creasing so it's good in the point for me.


There are 2 more colors available: 01 Strawberry Chocolate (pinks/brown) and 03 Milk Chocolate (brown tones).

Overall this is a nice little addition to my makeup stash, it's a good pick when you travel as it's a very small palette and replacing it doesn't cost too much in case you lose it or it gets damaged.

My makeup storage =)

I have a ton of makeup that takes up quite some space to store. I purge my stash every 3-4 months to be able to fit in new items and get rid of older ones I don't have use for. Since I order online only it happens unfortunately that some products just don't deliver what the pics and online swatches promise. It's a waste but I can't prevent it. I sell off all the good items on ebay later though so they usually find someone who can appreciate them more.

I have a big drawer commode from Ikea of which more than half is only used to store my makeup. I use 1 small drawer and 2 of the big drawers only for my collection.

In the small drawer I store my Etude Peach collection, Skin Food Bordeaux kit, sample sets, my makeup brushes and tools and my sheet masks:

2nd drawer is only for eyeshadows, liners, eyebrow products and mascara/base items:



3rd drawer stores my face products such as foundations, concealers, highlighters, blushes and my lip products such as glosses, lipliners and lipsticks.

Skin Food Fresh Garden Face Kit

Skin Food Fresh Garden Face Kit offers 3 face makeup products in deluxe sample size to try out and that will give your face a soft fresh look.
The box is a cute vintage-style cardboard.

-Lime Secret Shine Base in #65: This is a face primer that imparts a soft pink iridescent glow in a white base. Smells fresh like lime.

-White Grape Fresh Foundation in #21: Medium coverage foundation with a soft fresh scent. I like how this feels on my skin as it seems to be moisturizing but gives a more satin-matte finish.
The color in comes is #21, the 2nd lightest shade in most Korean brands and a color that works for most light-medium skin tones. Even though my color is usually the lightest #13 I can wear this foundation though but only now in summer as I got a very slight tan. A better color match would be #13 though.

-Tomato Cool Jelly Tint in #3: I don't like lip tints and this is no exception. It's almost clear when applied but it leaves a slightly odd orangey color on my lips. I don't like orange lip products at all so I don't care much for this product.
Has a soft and pleasant slightly floral and fruity scent.


All in all this makes a pretty little gift and the Lime Base and Grape Foundation are good products. Lip-tint lovers will probably also like the Tomato Jelly Lip tint.

I don't know the retail price of this because I received this as a gift.

Asian brands gel/cream eyeliners in pots comparison

I think eyeliners in pots are a great invention. Applied with a good brush they are usually easy to handle and offer great results if the formula of the product is right.
The boom started about 1 1/2 years ago with Kate's release of their Powder Gel liner and now many Asian brands offer their own interpretation of pot liners. I am aware that gel and cream liners are different but for me they're the same when a creamy product dries down to a smudge-proof finish. (all of the products below dry down and don't budge once the color set)

Kanebo Kate Powder Gel liner:
Kate was one of the first brands to come out with small gel liners. I know that Sonia Rykiel had a similar product out first but the quality is just horrible in my opinion.
Kate's liners have a smooth soft formula so a light dab with the brush is needed or too much product will end up on the brush.
Comes with a great brush I love to use with other liners, too.
Is very affordable at around US$15 or less if you get it in a Japanese drugstore at about 25% off.
They constantly add colors to the line-up and discontinue others.
Soon the whole line will be replaced with Powder Gel Liner N which is supposedly improved.

Esprique Precious Matte Lasting Cream Liner:
This is one of my favorite range of gel liners. It applies like a breeze with the included flat liner brush. I don't know why they call this "matte" as one of the colors I have is a super shiny metallic color. BK002 is one of the most unique and great colors to own (a purple-gray with a metallic finish) and their newest color BL901 is a great not overly bright aqua shade.
I think the retail price is somewhere around 2500 Yen. There are 5 regular colors and 2 LE colors available for the moment.

Shiseido The Makeup Accentuating Cream Eyeliner:
One of the worst pot liners in my opinion. VERY pasty and thick and impossible to spread evenly. Comes with a slanted liner brush that just doesn't work for me.
2 color available (black and brown)
It costs around US$25 in the US and more here in Austria.



Shiseido Maquillage Dramatical Gel liner:
New with the Spring 2008 collection. These are pretty good liners with a pleasant not overly soft texture. 2 of the colors are really pretty metallics and the blue shade is outstanding as it's not a flat boring navy but a pretty royal blue. 5 colors total.
Comes with the same style liner brush as the Shiseido The Makeup liners.
Cost is in the 2500-3000 Yen range if I am not wrongly informed.



SUQQU Eyeliner Creamy:
This is the most expensive pot liner in my collection. I am pretty sure it retails for around 4000 Yen (I paid US$50 from ichibankao) so it's quite expensive.
The Suqqu liner is really great though. Perfect formula: not too thick, not too soft. Applies very evenly and smoothly.
There are only 2 colors (green and black) and I picked the green which is a very dark forest green.
Comes with a great brush, too.



B&C Labs Makemania Markabull Eyeliner GB:
Pretty inexpensive liner from B&C labs (former Sony CP). It's a good creamy liner and comes with a thicker but good brush, too. Good value for money though it's not as good as Kate or Esprique.
I've only seen a black color available.



Laneige Multi-Shaping Eyeliner - Gel & Powder Liner:
This is by far the worst gel liner I own. The gel liner is so thick you'd need a knife to scrape any color off. (well not THAAAT bad) No, honestly it takes a lot of effort to make this work. I had to spread a tiny drop of eyecream to soften the formula enough to be able to pick it up and spread it somewhat evenly. The result still leaves a lot to be desired. It comes with 2 powder coats in the top compartment which is a really nifty idea but the product just is crap. 3 colors available. I paid around US$30/each online.



Etude House Orgel Light Gel Eyeliner:
This is an ok liner, but not outstandingly good. The texture is a bit sticky so it's a bit of a pain to spread the liner smoothly. Also the colors turn a a bit dull even though they look so gorgeous in the pan. The colors you see are a pinkish gray (#04) and a bright pinkish purple (#03) which turns even pinker when applied.
These are quite cheap, somewhere around US$8 retail. There are several colors available, I think around 5-6.



Skin Food Choco Eyeline Jam:
This is a surprisingly nice liner with a smooth shimmery finish and a good soft texture. It sets really quickly so quick application and smudging (if desired) is needed or the line will start to look a bit uneven/flaky. I got a pretty green color and the black one is on the way.
Several colors available (around 5-6) and retail price is quite cheap (around US$6-7)


Of course the list is not complete, there are more brands that offer liners in jars.

Etude House Princess Cake Fragrance

While searching around on ebay I found a pretty little item called Princess Cake Fragrance from Etude House.
It was quite cheap (US$9 or so) and I wanted to buy a mascara from that seller anyway, so I decided to give the perfume a try, too.

Now Cake Fragrance sounds quite interesting but after all it's a normal solid perfume in a cream base.

The Princess Cake Fragrance comes in a cute little pink box and is filled into a little glass jar with a pink cap. It's the same jar they use for their Orgel Light Gel eye liners. Really too cute!
The description says: "Funky pinky princess... Crunchy Fruity Floral".


The scent reminds me a lot of D&G Light Blue or Canmake Make Me Happy (in the light blue bottle) but the solid Etude version has a slight sharp additional note that can cause me a headache. I am VERY sensitive to fragrances and this sure smells good but I am always risking a headache =(

On me the Princess fragrance lasts quite long. I can still smell it after some hours of application but it doesn't last as long as most of the regular spray EdTs I am using.

All in all this is definitely a nice fragrance, great for travelling as it's a solid and really cute in its princessy little pot.

I have seen a very cute spray version of this on ebay but I can't order it since it's not allowed to import any liquid perfumes by mail here (I did before but don't want to risk a fine). I can order about anything else available but no liquid perfumes =(
