Skin Food Honey Black Tea Cleansing Oil & Milk Mania Cleansing Foam

While I am a faithful user of FancL's Mild Cleansing Oil (MCO) and Washing Powder for over 3 years now I decided to get a cleansing oil (to remove makeup) and a facial cleanser (for morning and after the cleansing oil at night) from Skin Food as they seemed to have pretty cute items to try out.

I decided to go for the Honey Black Tea Cleansing Oil & Milk Mania Cleansing Foam.

Honey Black Tea Cleansing Oil:
This is a very liquid oil (FancL's is slightly viscous) that has a very soft and pleasant scent (a bit like baby powder with honey?). It's a bit on the greasy side and needs some time to wash off. It removes my makeup thoroughly and leaves my skin very soft. I couldn't use this cleansing oil without another cleanser afterwards though as it can leave a slight film on my skin. Overall FancL's MCO is definitely better as it's unfragranced, not greasy and leaves my skin feeling very clean.
Retails for 7700 Won/170ml. Comes in a hygienic plastic bottle.


Milk Mania Cleansing Foam:
This is a thick white gel that lathers up to a beautiful rich foam. The gel has a very light sweet milky scent and it really leaves my skin feeling clean. It can be slightly drying if I use too much/rub my face too long but that also depends on my skin condition that day. Overall I find the Milk Mania foam more convenient than the washing powder and I love the rich creamy foam it makes.
Retails for 6300 Won/150ml. Comes in a hygienic squeeze tube.

Etude House Baby Skin Veiling Pact SPF22 PA++

As with many of my items I found this little cute compact on ebay. I thought to give it a try as it was just US$16.99 (that's just around €10) and looked very promising. Who doesn't want to have baby skin? =)


Etude House Baby Skin Veiling Pact SPF22 PA++ comes in a pink princessy compact with a puff enclosed. There are 2 colors to choose from and of course I picked the lighter one (#01 Bright Beige) as I am very fair.


The description says:
Silky powder supplies sun protection and moist, sheer coverage.

According to the auction description the powder contains: Pure Baby Powder, Moisture Baby Powder, Green Tea Oil, Camellia Oil, Vitamin E Acetate, Porous Powder.
Due to the content of oils this might not be suitable for oiler or acne-prone skin-types.


I find this powder to be quite moisturizing and it gives a bit of coverage so it evens out my skin nicely.
This has a light baby powder fragrance which is quite pleasant.
It's definitely a nice little item to add to add to my growing Korean makeup collection.

VOV Castledew Shirring Eyes: I am NOT impressed...

When I saw that VOV released new eyeshadow palettes in their Castledew range I picked up the quint in 02 Secret Potion, a lovely collection of purples and blues.

I really love their other palettes, called Color Shot Eyes. So I was expecting a good pearly eye palette with smooth and pigmented colors.

But no, it's not =(


This comes in the same cute case like the Color Shot Eyes but the silver metal color has a slight pinkish tint. There are 5 stripes of color pressed into 1 eyeshadow pan and I have to admit that the arrangement looks really pretty.
But unfortunately 4 of the 5 colors are super sheer. The texture is fine and soft but the pigment just totally lacks. The only color that shows up a bit better is the darkest color but the others just show very subtle colors. Also the colors are a bit too dull and flat for my taste.


No thanks.

RRP is around US$18 if I am not wrong. Save your money for something better or get one of their eyeshadow quads instead!
There is also palette #1 Lovely Tender consisting of warmer colors like orange, brown and yellow.

Etude House Peach Collection: Addition =)

I posted already about the Etude House Peach Collection earlier but ever since I received 2 more items and here is my review on them.


First I wanna present you the Peach Tint Blusher in #3 Watery Pink.
I own some cream and gel blushes but honestly hardly ever use them. So I hesitated for some time before I finally gave in and ordered the Peach Tint Blusher.
I have to say I am happy I got it as it's a really pretty little item. The box says: "Supplies cheeks with moisture coating for a peachy complexion. Dual applicable to lip and cheek for tint."
So this is a tint to be used on cheeks and lips. I don't use lip tints so I just use this as a blusher though.

The tint feels slightly cool upon application and for a short time afterwards and the color is sheer but buildable. I swipe it across each of my cheeks for about 2-3 times and then blend with my fingers and really like the shimmery dewy result it delivers. I use this on top of my powder (most cream/gel blushes get streaky this way so I apply them before powder) and it goes on absolutely smooth and it's a breeze to spread it evenly.


There is also a red and an orange tint. The red (#1 Watery Rose) looks interesting and I will probably get it some time soon. I think this would be more suitable for darker complexions as the pink tint might be a bit too light to make a decent blush.

Like most of the Peach Collection items this has a soft peach scent I really like.


The other item I got is the Dear Darling Ultra Shine Lips in #14 Strawberry Milk.
After being really disappointed with the bright bubblegum pink of #11 (read in the original post about the Peach Collection) I am now delighted that I have found a wearable soft pink shade. I have generally a bit bad luck with Korean lipsticks as many of them are too warm or bright and the online swatches are generally totally off.
It's not a super moisturizing lipstick but the color is pretty and the peach scent is really yummy.


I paid around US$20 for each product incl. shipping. Retail in Korea is quite a bit lower though.

Etude Marbleade (Baked Blushes & Highlighters)

Among my most recent purchases are 4 pretty little compacts from Etude called "Marbleade".

As I wrote in my earlier posts I am really a sucker for all those pretty baked blushes, eyeshadows, powders and highlighters so I couldn't resist those cute Etude items when I saw them in one of my favorite online stores (I paid US$19.99/each incl. shipping).


The Marbleade blushes come in simple round compacts with a clear top. They don't come with brushes but that's fine with me as I never use those little useless brushes anyway.

There are 4 pretty marbled colors available, 2 blushes and 2 highlighters. The powders leave a fine iridescent shimmer on my skin which looks really good as it's free of glitter bits.

The powder texture is not really silky, rather the typical slightly rough texture some baked items have. But my brush picks up enough of the Marbleade blushes to give a flush of color/iridescent highlights.

The colors are
#1 Pink: A pretty rather cool pink but with golden flecks which warms the color up a bit.


#2 Orange: This is a gorgeous light orangey gold that's quite wearable and pretty


#3 Highlighter: Consists of different pastel colors like pink, green, purple. The colors mix into a pretty iridescent pinkish white on my skin.

#4 Highlighter: While #3 is cooler/silvery #4 leaves a soft golden pink shimmer.


I think these probably retail for somewhere around US$10 or so and they're quite worth picking them up if you have the chance to!

PS The blushes are by Etude (not Etude House), but I can't seem to add Etude to the labels, it always changes it to Etude House =X
