Fall 2010: Fasio Chandelier Shine Eyes in SV-5

I don´t pay so much attention to Fasio these days as many times this brand has let me down with its inconsistent and often mediocre quality. Given that this brand is produced by Kosé and the prices are on a par price-wise with Kate, Integrate and even Kosé´s other affordable drugstore brand Visée (well, it´s generally maybe a few 100 Yen more expensive) I think one should expect a good consistent quality etc.
Anyway, enough blabla, the new Chandelier Shine Eyes palettes are actually pretty nice and affordable so it´s very worth picking one of these up!

The case is quite pretty for a drugstore brand with the embossed jewels on the cover.
Each palette contains 3 shimmery powder shades and a glittery color which (to pat on top of the other shades) probably is some sort of "chandelier shine powder" or so. Can´t read Japanese but I am guessing that hehe =P
Pigment-wise the Chandelier Shine Eyes show up really well. These shades don´t blend that easily though and they have the tendency to crumble a little so I recommend doing the eyes before the face makeup.

Still they are good shadows and last the whole day on me with just minimal fading and no creasing.
SV-5 is a really gorgeous quad as the deepest shade is quite unique, a deep gray bordering purple or blue, hard to say actually. The other shades are medium silver, white and a silver glitter shade with engraved jewels.

I used this quad along with the Lunasol Gel Eyeliner in 06 Dark Gray which shows up just a little but fits oh so well with this quad!

I got this Chandelier Shine Eyes from Adambeauty for US$17 incl. shipping, Japanese retail is 1470 Yen (=US$18).

Kosé Fasio Hyper-Stay Mascara Magne-Plus Curl Volume BK001

Fasio seems to be quite known for their mascaras... I tried several and found they´re pain in the butt to remove but still I couldn´t resist to try out the newest addition to their line: The Hyper-Stay Mascara Magne Plus Curl Volume (what a name!). What sold me was the comb applicator and that it´s a volumizing formula, 2 things I always prefer when it comes to mascaras!

The Hyper-Stay Mascara comes in a rather unexciting gray/silver tube and features a comb applicator as I mentioned above. I got the black one (BK001). I think there is also a brown one available.

While the applicator is good I dislike the formula. The mascara is rather thick and sticky and doesn´t covery my lashes well as due to the stickiness it doesn´t glide on nicely. It takes about 3 layers to cover my lashes so that they don´t look grayish but the stickiness is hard to manage as my lashes start to stick together and just don´t look nice.
I don´t think this contains fibers and it´s a pain in the butt to remove (as Fasio mascaras tend to be). Make sure you own a cleansing oil and a dual-phase mascara remover to get rid of this stuff from your lashes!

I hoped this might be a good mascara and able to replace my favorite discontinued Majolica Majorca Lash Enamel Glamour Neo but unfortunately it fails for me.

Retails for 1260 Yen and contains 7g. I got mine from Adambeauty.com.

Spring 2010: Kosé Fasio Shadow Trick Eyes GR-4

Fasio´s eyeshadows used to be utter crap... the shadows were hard and had no pigment and an overly dull finish.
That´s why I stayed away from their eye colors for quite some time but got interested again last year when the Gradation Deep Eyes came out.

This spring Fasio released a series of pretty eyeshadow quads called Shadow Trick Eyes. One color (GR-4) caught my eye so I ordered it from Ichibankao some time ago.

The Shadow Trick Eyes contain 4 powder colors from light to dark in the typical Japanese graduated color scheme.

The eyeshadows contain a mix of "silver pearl", "glass pearl" and "lightning pearl" for a bright finish whereas the darkest color contains "shading pearl".

While the colors aren´t exactly silky the pigment in these shadows is just fabulous, especially the color which stands out most in my opinion (the deep emerald). The eyeshadows also blend well and don´t have a dull finish but a rather pretty soft shimmer. Lasting power is good, I experienced light creasing after about 8 hours of wear but otherwise the colors held up really well.

GR-4 is a gorgeous green quad. The colors are ivory, pale mint, deep emerald and dark greenish gray.
Tip: The colors have the tendency to dust a little so I recommend doing the eyes before the rest of the face (as I always do so I never have problems with dust or glitter fall-out.) Furthermore I usually pat the colors on my lids with a dense eyeshadow brush rather than swiping them on to reduce dusting and to get a more intense colors finish. I apply the other colors from my crease upwards with a soft eyeshadow brush with a swiping motion though.

All in all I am quite liking the quad, especially the emerald color! Very pretty and fresh combo which is a bit unusual among Japanese brands (most greens lean towards golden/olive). Also good value for money as the retail is 1470 Yen incl. tax in Japan.

Spring 2009: More from Fasio

After my good experience with Fasio's new eyeshadow palettes called Gradation Deep Eyes I ordered one more color as it looked right up my alley. I also ordered one of Fasio's Rich Stay Rouge lipsticks as the color looked really lovely and it was rather cheap.

I already described packaging etc. here.
I just want to add that the texture of the quad in I-7 is a little different from the other colors. It's matte, rather dry and chalky. The pigment is quite good though so the colors show up if you blend well.

I like the bright blue-toned purple theme of the palette as it's exactly my kind of palette. However the texture leaves a bit to be desired and the matte finish isn't really for me.

The Rich Stay Rouge in PK831 is fantastic. It has a great creamy texture with good staying power and the color is just gorgeous!
I can't detect a scent so if there is one it must be very light hehe.

I love this lipstick really a lot! The color is a light nude pink which works perfectly with my coloring.

Definitely check out the Rich Stay Rouge series if you can. I got my items from ichibankao.

Spring 2009: Fasio Gradation Deep Eyes & Gradation Mix Face Color (+Double Perfection Rouge)

Fasio by Kose is one of those brands I tend to ignore most of the time. Most of the items I tried from them were mediocre or below that (though I also found a few items I really like)

Recently I noticed that the prices went up and the design of the items changed a bit, getting more similar to brands like Kate and Integrate.

Honestly I have never been impressed with Fasio's eyeshadows as they were always unpigmented and chalky.
Some of the new Gradation Deep Eyes palettes looked really yummy but I had no real intention to order them until I found this post by my dear buddy Iris. The green/aqua quad looked REALLY delicious and the taupe quad was right up my alley, too!

I ended up ordering more from Fasio because I liked their revamped blushers and also found an interesting long-lasting lipstick in their lineup I hadn't noticed until now.

I got:

-Gradation Deep Eyes in I-3 and I-6
-Gradation Mix Face Color
in RD420
-Double Perfection Rouge
in BE30 and PK80

-Gradation Deep Eyes:

The new eye quads come in a simple black/silver/clear plastic compact reminiscent of Kate and Integrate (esp. Kate).

I find these quads quite pigmented but the texture is a little strange. It feels like the shadows are a little damp?! They have the tendency to clump up a little in one place so blending them well is a must.

But it's not a big problem as the shadows blend quickly and once applied they stay in place.

I-3:

Gorgeous neutral taupe quad. I couldn't resist picking this up even though I probably have 80786078785657645485296145 palettes like this.

I-6:

Most gorgeous aqua/deep green combo. It's bright but not in an overwhelming way. The colors are vibrant but wearable!
I got mine from Ichibankao (around US$19/each)

-Gradation Mix Face Color:

The new Gradation Mix Face Color comes in practically the same compact as the eyeshadow quads.

It contains 3 hues of the same color from light to dark.
The blusher has a satiny finish (leaning towards matte not shimmery) and is decently pigmented.

I find the 3 colors are too small to really pick them up separately (you can with a smaller brush though) so I just swirl the whole thing together and get a very pretty color.

I chose RD420 which is a perfect neutral red beige palette. It fits most nude/natural and also red lipsticks.

I think I paid about US$19 from Ichibankao. Btw the included brush is rather soft but very small thus for me it's more or less useless.

-Double Perfection Rouge:

Some years ago (before I was into Japanese/Korean beauty stuff) I used to love those Cover Girl Outlast lipsticks. Many brand have released those 2-step lipcolors (lasting color and gloss top coat) in the past years and in general they're rather uncomfortable to wear but last very well.

I honestly didn't spot those 2-step lasting lipcolors from any Japanese brand yet until I discovered the Fasio Double Perfection Rouges.

I was super curious so I got 2 colors.
You get a quite pigmented color and a sheer shimmery gloss in 1 rather large stick.

You first apply the color coat and let it dry for about 2 minutes (keep your mouth lightly open till it feels really dry) and then dab on the gloss topcoat (which looks tinted in the tube but looks clear when applied on top of the lipstick). Just reapply the gloss if your lips feel dry or the shine fades.

I think these are quite comfortable to wear and they last decently. However these are neither as long-lasting but also not as uncomfortable to wear as many other brands so I quite like these lippies.

There is no scent added to these and they remove easily with normal cleansing oil/makeup remover.

I will definitely pick up more of these. I am already quite happy with the 2 colors I got:

PK80 (the shade pictured on top): Happy warm medium pink and gloss.

BE30 (the shade you see on the bottom):

Pretty pink-beige which fits really nicely with the blush.
These are also around US$20 on ichibankao.

All in all a Fasio haul I really like. I will review the quad in I-7 and one of the Rich Stay Rouge lipsticks soon (they're on their way here =D)
