Summer 2011: Lunasol Full Glamour Liquid Lips EX-02 Coral Pink & Eye Pencil N EX-02 Blue Green

Lunasol released a pretty summer collection but nothing tickled my fancy. The main popular item were/are the summer palettes but they just looked a lot like the previous years´palettes Lunasol put out for summer so I skipped them.

I got one of the new Liquid Lips in EX-02 Coral Pink and the Eye Pencil in EX-02 Blue Green on eBay recently so time to review them before I forget =)

Both products come in Lunasol´s signature packaging/chocolate bronze metallic packaging.
The Liquid Lips is one of the nicest liquid lipsticks/creamy lipglosses I know and wears absolutely comfortably.

As I said above the texture is very creamy, not sticky or goopy and stays on decently. It feels quite moisturizing as my lips are very soft when this wears off.

EX-02 Coral Pink is a beautiful sheer color with fine shimmer. The name coral pink fits the color very well.

The Eye Pencil N EX-02 Blue Green is a fat pencil-shaped twist-up pen so it does not require sharpening.

It´s a creamy pencil with good pigment and fine shimmer. It blends nicely and looks really bright as it´s such a gorgeous teal shade. This cream eyeshadow/pencil wears well with minimal creasing but does fade a little over the day.

It´s a bit too thick to use this as a eyeliner but it´s a nice eyeshadow in my opinion.
EX-02 Blue Green is a nice sparkly teal.

Retail is around 2800 Yen for the lipgloss and around 2600 for the eye pencil. I believe Adambeauty has them up for grabs.

Spring 2011: Lunasol Ocean Scene Eyes 04 Smoky Ocean, Cream Cheeks EX01 Light Pink, Full Glamour Liquid Lips 07 Sugar Pink

Lunasol released a pretty big collection for spring including new eye palettes. Out of the 5 colors one really appealed to me so I ordered the Ocean Scene Eyes in 04 Smoky Ocean. I also got the Cream Cheeks in EX01 Light Pink and one of the new Full Glamour Liquid Lips (in 07 Sugar Pink).

-Ocean Scene Eyes:
To be honest most of the Lunasol palettes I tried so far didn´t work for me. The older generation of eyeshadows didn´t have a nice texture/good pigment and were just very mediocre and in general the color combinations don´t work for me as they tend to be on the warmer/bronze/colorful side. I usually have better luck with Kanebo´s cheaper brands like Lavshuca, Kate and Coffret D´or.
 
I have a few fantastic palettes though including the ones from the Xmas 2010 and 2009 coffrets!
The palettes come in the usual bronzey case along with high-quality applicators.

The texture of the Ocean Scene Eyes is really good as the shadows feel smooth and silky with a gorgeous glistening but not glittery finish. In fact finally this is a palette without that useless glitter shade!

The shadows have the right level of pigment (sheerer lighter colors, very pigmented dark color) and blendable and last throught all the day for me. 
I have to say I am very impressed with the Ocean Scene Eyes quad!

04 Smoky Ocean is a very elegant combination, the included colors are a smoky deep bluish gray, pale powder blue, light golden beige and an off-white. While the 3 lighter colors appear all similar in the swatch there is still enough difference to them for giving an interesting look.


I actually really loved the EOTD I did with the palette yesterday where I paired the palette with a royal blue gel liner from Kate and the Heroine Make Long & Curl mascara from Kiss Me.

-Cream Cheeks:
I am not a big cream-blush user but I was sure Lunasol would come up with a really nice product in sweet versatile colors.

There are 3 colors, all light and natural as far as I can judge. These come in squeeze-tubes with a thin nozzle so you can dispense as little or much as you want. 
The texture is indeed creamy and easy to spread on top of cream foundation, BB Cream etc. You can´t apply this on top of powder or powder foundation though as it gets really blotchy.

The texture is quite pigmented but sheers out when blending it into the skin. Still you should use really little or you end up with clown cheeks =P
The finish is shimmery, almost dewy. For me it´s actually a little too much so I like to tone it down with a bit of translucent powder on top.

When topped with powder the staying power is really good and the color EX01 is a very pretty fresh coral pink perfectly suitable for spring.

Overall a good-quality cream blush but not a must-buy for me.
First pic shows the blush spread out a little, the 2nd how it looks like when blended in completely.

Full Glamour Liquid Lips:
Lunasol´s lipsticks and glosses are always great, period. Kanebo in general is a fantastic lipstick-maker...Kate, Lavshuca, Coffret D´or - all have great lippies in their lineup.

The Full Glamour Liquid Lips is a true liquid lipstick and not just a pigmented gloss. The texture is very creamy and easy to spread and the finish and feel is like a pearly lipstick....also there is no stickiness in the formula, just creamy goodness.

Staying power is good, too, about 3 hours without reapplication. This product wears off without gunking up so overall it´s really a great albeit pricy lipstick.
07 Sugar Pink is a gorgeous light coral pink.

I have my eyes also on 02 and 09 and might eventually pick them up =)

Xmas 2010: Lunasol Nail Finish in EX27 Sheer Gold Red

Sorry for my lack of updates but I was ill the previous week... it turned winter here the previous days which often means I am getting a cold hehe =P

I think this is only my 2nd nail polish from Lunasol, the other one being the glittery one from the Party Coffret 2008. 
I don´t buy nail colors these days as I have quite all the colors I like and I just have too many anywa... but I couldn´t resist this pretty color from the Xmas collection that seemed to be a color I don´t have yet. 

Like all products from Lunasol the packaging is simple and sleek, the glass bottle contains 10ml and retails for 1575 Yen (= approx. 19). Not cheap for nail polish but still quite ok compared to other high-end brands.
I got mine in the color EX27 Sheer Gold Red on Adambeauty for US$16 incl. shipping which is quite a good deal, after all it´s below retail price =)

The Nail Finish nail polishes have a smooth fast-drying texture with a nicely lustrous and glossy finish. Lasting power is fine, about 3 days before first tip-wear starts to show.
EX27 is a gorgeous deep plummy red with golden iridescence. Even though the name says "sheer" it´s definitely not sheer, 2 layers are easily enough to give a fully opaque finish. Overall the result looks like rich red velvet with a golden sheen. Really gorgeous and a very festive color!

Xmas 2010: Lunasol Party Coffret 2010U - Sheer Gold Holiday collection

This year the Lunasol Party Coffret 2010U turned to be out the most anticipated release for me as the kit looked like an incredible value for money and the contents like very pretty and wearable products.

I reviewed the sets from 2008 and 2009 so check out the reviews if you are interested.
The 2009 collection contained my favorite Lunasol palette (gray and pink!) and featured very pretty white compacts instead of the regular bronze color. 
2008 saw a pretty blush and a nice reddish-brown palette along with other goodies.


This year´s theme is Sheer Gold and for 6825 Yen the kit includes the following products:
-Aurorized Eyes in EX01 Sheer Gold Beige Brown, 5.5g
-Coloring Cheeks in EX01 Sheer Gold Beige Pink, 10g 
-Full Glamour Gloss N in EX18 Sheer Gold Beige Pink, 7.3g
-High Stylized Mascara in 01 Clear Black, 4g
-Makeup Pouch

All products are full-sized except for the mascara which contains half of a regular size. Overall a fantastic deal and great value for money!


So here are the reviews for the individual items:
I tried the Aurorized Eyes in the purple version but wasn´t so impressed so I sold it on LP Sales.

The Sheer Gold Beige Brown palette that comes in the kit is really an amazingly nice eyeshadow quint and a nice departure from the Lighting For Eyes series Kanebo put in every single Xmas coffret for at least the past 4-5 years.

This eyeshadow palette has an incredibly smooth and pigmented texture with a gorgeous glistening metallic finish. Really, the interesting thing about these eyeshadows doesn´t lie so much within the colors but rather in the finish of them.
Lasting power is great, I wore the palette today from morning till evening and the shadows still looked very fresh and crease-free.


The colors are very safe neutral beiges and browns, suitable for probably about any skin-tone out there.

 

The Coloring Cheeks blush doesn´t come in the regular-sized case but in a smaller one without a brush. Still the exterior of the compact looks like the normal Lunasol range and the blush itself is full-sized so it´s perfect for me.
The Coloring Cheeks has a sheer, glowy and silky texture. The pigment in this appears quite weak when swatched with fingers but oddly when applying it with a brush it shows up very well on me. 

The color is a very soft beige pink with fine shimmer which shows up as a pretty glow with a few scattered glitter bits on me. There are 3 shades ranging from lighter to medium so you can apply the lighter colors as a highlighter.
 

The Full Glamour Lips N is full-sized but comes in the special rounded instead of the angular tube. 
 
It´s a slightly thick and sticky gloss with a gorgeous pearlescent and shimmery finish which makes my lips look plump and pretty. The applicator is a regular soft doe-foot type.

The color is light but pigmented enough to show up and it gives those perfect nude-ish glossy lips without washing me out as still my natural lip color can shine through a little.
This is a hue of soft pearly pearl beige pink.


The High Stylized Mascara has thin application wand and contains fibers. It´s a lengthening mascara which looks super natural on me and since it features a drier formula it takes several layers to coat my lashes sufficiently.
The main draw-back is that this mascara weighs my lashes down even despite its dry texture.

It gives a super natural result and this is boring as I don´t like natural lashes :P

The makeup pouch is really pretty, it´s made of a glittery fabric which reminds me of the middle shade in the eyeshadow palette. It´s lined with a heavy pale golden satin fabric and has one interior pocket.

Overall my favorite Xmas coffret so far this year as it contains all pretty and wearable items and no single fail in my opinion...well the mascara is so-so but still it´s usable. I am waiting for the one from Esprique Precious but I doubt it can reach the Lunasol one in terms of color composition and wearability. 
Actually this year I didn´t really buy much of the Xmas stuff as there weren´t so many interesting collection featured for Xmas 2010 in my opinions.

PS the background I used for these pics is a pretty Japanese Xmas fabric printed with pale blue deer, trees and silver stars =)
