Summer 2011: Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist Lemon

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!
Sorry for my absence but I just passed my 2nd last exam today with an exellent result so I am really happy and have time to blog again =D Well, there might have been actual time for blogging but when I am so focused on my studies I can´t do much else (e.g. I have only been wearing makeup 3x the whole last month!)

I reviewed the Hadanomy Collagen Mist from Sana a while ago and I really love it (and have used up a bottle by now) so I definitely wanted to try their summer LE in a lemon fragrance! I think the mist is the same, they just filled it into a cute heart-shaped bottle and added a really lovely sweet lemon scent.
I personally like the lemon scent even more than the regular one so I wish this could become a part of the regular line =D

The mist is slightly viscuous and refreshing and the dispenser really creates a super fine mist. This doesn´t irritate my skin at all so I can highly recommend this product!

The cute bottle contains 90ml (vs. 250ml in the full-sized regular version) and retails for 500 Yen. I got mine from Alphabeautyuk on eBay.

Sana Pore Putty Keana Pate Shokunin BB Cream SPF50+ PA+++

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!

And another Japanese brand released a BB Cream! Seems the craze has not calmed down yet!

The Pore Putty from Sana Noevir line is quite popular and has quite a variety of bases, powders and concealers to choose from so it was just a matter of time they´d release a BB Cream!

I like the squeeze tube which looks quite pretty in my opinion. 30g retail for 1260 Yen in Japan but I got mine from Alphabeautyuk on eBay. Adambeauty is listing this, too, I believe.

As with many Japanese BB creams the texture is incredibly smooth with a slightly siliconey feel but not as heavy or suffocating as many of the Korean brands. And best of all it´s not scented!
My skin feels really smooth and soft and not dry when wearing this however having a very fair pink-toned skin-tone the color is not a good match for me as it´s darker and more yellow than I can wear. The coverage is decent but as the color doesn´t fit I can´t wear this.

Overall this could be such a nice product but the color match is a total no-go for myself. Ladies with a slightly tanner complexion will probably enjoy this product a lot though! And it seems to be very popular in Japan!

Rating would be 4/5 but since I can´t wear it I have to give it a 1/5

Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist & Cream

You might know that my absolute favorite skincare line is from Rosette (review here). I felt I wanted to add something to my winter skincare though and this super cute Hadanomy Collagen skincare from Sana just kept popping up in all the online shops so I thought of giving it a try.

Of course what sealed the deal for me were the cute pink bottles... you know which kind of shallow creature I am, don´t you? =X

There were 3 or 4 items available at the time I purchased these 2 products but now there is also a series of masks available (and I actually tried them but didn´t really like them that much).
I purchased the Collagen Mist and the Collagen Cream to add to my daily skincare regime (cleansing or double-cleansing at night), Soys Lotion Rich, Soys Milk).

The Hadanomy Collagen range contains of course micro-sized collagen (1000mg...per ?), honey extract, hyaluronic acid and acerola. The products are free of mineral oil and colorants and have been allergy-tested.
The Hadanomy products are scented, to me it smells like rose and something fresh blended in...orange or lemon perhaps.
As I said packaging is simply cute, very sweet pink with white lace design printed on, made of a high-quality plastic.

The Mist contains 250ml and retails for 900 Yen...that´s quite affordable given the good amount you get. It´s a liquid with a slightly viscous quality so it´s not completely runny like water but it´s much thinner than my Soys Lotion Rich which more reminds me of a liquified gel.

This is a spray-on toner (aka lotion in Japanese beauty terms) to be used after cleansing but before moisturizing. I am not a big mist person but I started using this regularly 2x a day before my Soys Lotion Rich and I just love the extra kick of freshness. To me it´s not a vital step in my beauty routine but I use it nonetheless =)

This is also a nice prep for sheet masks, as it´s always recommended to use a toner before applying one of them.

The Cream (100g for 1000 Yen) is actually more of a gel-cream than an actual cream. This is nearly only moisture but I believe low in lipids so on its own it´s not rich enough for me and my skin feels tight and uncomfy. However when applying this after my Soys Milk this is an excellent moisture-booster and skin-softener perfectly suited for the dry and cold winter weather.

My skin stays perfectly hydrated and looks plump and radiant when using this skincare routine.

I have been using the Hadanomy range for about 5 weeks now in conjunction with the Soys line and have not encountered any sort of adverse reactions so I suppose it´s very suitable for my skin (allergic reactions or irritations never occur later than 2 weeks after starting to use a new product on my face, usually this shows in just a few days).

Overall I am very happy with these products. The Mist isn´t really a necessary product since I already use another toner but I enjoy using it and there is nothing negative to say about it at all. The Cream is excellent and a welcome addition to combat the current temperatures. It might be too much to use this on top of the Soys Milk in summer though.

Sana Uruotaishi Hiaruronsan Moisture Lip Balm

Sana added a new product to their cute small Uruotaishi Hiaruronsan skincare line... a Moisture Lip Balm, yay!
I reviewed the other 2 products (Moisturizing Mist and Moisture Gel) quite some time ago so if you are interested in this line please read those posts.

The key ingredient of the Uruotaishi products is hyaluronic acid in 3 different variations (sealing, plumping and penetrating). You can check Sana´s English information of the gel and mist here (the English site is not updated so the Moisture Lip Balm is not listed there yet).

The Moisture Lip Balm is a bit pricey for a lip balm since it retails for 980 Yen (that´s more than US$12) but it comes in a pretty a bit chunky swivel-up tube just like regular lipstick.

The lip balm is totally unscented (not even any icky plastic smell or taste) and even though this is a solid stick it has an easily melting texture which spreads like a dream.
The balm leaves a lightweight moisturizing layer with a light sheen (but not glossy look) on my lips.

My lips feel and look smooth but to be very honest the effect isn´t that long-lasting so I am slightly disappointed that the hydrating effect isn´t something that stays. My lips are softer after the balm has worn off but not to a very remarkable extent.

Overall a nice lip balm but a bit expensive for its performance.

Love package =) Jill Stuart makeup bag & Sana Natural Resource Treatment Base UV SPF18 PA++

I received this wonderful gift from my dear long-time friend (5-6 years now?) and blogger buddy Iris from Rouge Deluxe and just wanted to post about it here =D

She sent me the makeup bag that came with the Jill Stuart mook and a Treatment Makeup Base UV SPF18 PA++ from Sana Natural Resource which is a new brand to me so I am so excited that she picked this out for me!

The Jill Stuart bag is really large with tons of compartments in various sizes so it´s a perfect thing to hold lots of and organize makeup and/skin care when traveling or taking along. I love the pretty floral print and the nice touches like the glittery JS logo and the ribbon charm!
The whole bag is really a great quality item incl. the materials and finishing.
The Treatment Base UV from Sana comes in a really sweet pink squeeze tube and is tinted in a light pink shade. The Natural Resource base is made for even the most sensitive skin-types as it´s free of additives, alcohol, parabens, mineral oil, artifical colorants and ultraviolet absorber (do they mean chemical sunscreen?). See how well my dear friend knows me =D Sensitive skin all around lol!

It´s non-comedogenic and contains 6 botanical extract.
Contains "luxury rose water" to give the base a subtle rose aroma (which I personally can´t detect, to me this is pretty unscented), squalane (I suppose the one from olives), silk sericin and bran ceramides.

It´s a lightweight base with a pink tint making my skin look bright and evened out. The base feels very light and comfortable and doesn´t give a slick or moist feel, rather a good silky matte base for makeup to cling to, soft with a very light stickiness to it. I can´t see shimmer in the base and I wore it the whole day today and it kept my makeup in place beautifully. So far I didn´t experience any kind of irritation and will update if that should happen later on.

So far I really like this base as it feels comfortable, makes my skin silky and evens out my skin tone nicely. And it does what a base is supposed to do: Keep my makeup in place =)
Rating: 5/5

Thanks so much to my dear Iris for sending this to me! *smooooch* =D
You can read more about the Natural Resource line here (Iris provided me the link) =D

Sana Quzulangelo Cover Liquid BB SPF 29 PA++ in 01 Light Beige

Sana jumped on the BB craze bandwagon and release a new product called Quzulangelo Cover Liquid BB so granted I had to pick up a bottle to try this stuff out. I got mine from Adambeauty for US$20.50.

I like how the box is designed as this stuff looks very different from other Sana products.

The Cover Liquid BB comes in a hygienice pump bottle containing 25ml.
According to Sana these are the 6 benefits of this product:

I picked up shade 01 Light Beige which looked like a very nice pale ivory shade that should work for fair skintones.
Unfortunately (for me hehe) this liquid BB turned out to be quite yellow and about 2 shades too dark for me so it doesn´t fit my skintone.

I still tried it out and wore it at home and this is a very lightweight liquid product, very different from the typical BB Cream which generally has a rather heavy silicone-y feel. This is very nice and gives silky skin however it seems to be more suitable for normal-oily skin-types as it feels a bit drying on the long run.

Coverage is about light-medium and slightly buildable.
There is also a darker shade available if you are interested to try this out. So the Quzulangelo Cover Liquid BB feels like a good product but the color doesn´t work for me.

Rating: 2/5, would be higher for texture but removed 2 points for the color.

Sana Hime-Ichigo (fragrance spray)

I found this fragrance spray from Sana called Hime-Ichigo (Princess Strawberry?) on eBay a few months ago and have almost finished my bottle by now.

Hime-Ichigo comes in a cute pink glass bottle with flowers and strawberries printed all over.
Honestly when I ordered it I thought it´d probably not smell nice, much too sweet and childish but when I received it and sniffed it I was really impressed with how lovely it smelt.
Hime-Ichigo smells fruity but not really like strawberry blended with a soft floral note with an overall rather fresh tinge. It´s refreshing and soft and not tacky or overly sweet at all. More like a fruity light cologne.

Honestly the staying power isn´t great as the scent fades rather quickly but this is just a cologne spray so one shouldn´t expect a very long-lasting perfume here.

Overall a cute fragrance spray at an affordable price (700 Yen for 50ml). I think I paid somewhere around US$10-12 plus shipping from eBay.

Sana Make Essence Face Powder SPF15 PA++

If you follow Sana´s releases you might have noticed a cute new product in their Make Essence range. Each item from Make Essence features a cute animal with its beauty woes (like the bear with eye circles, the crocodile with wrinkles etc.). This time the elephant has a problem with his shiny nose! Hehe!

I ordered the Face Powder from Adambeauty a while ago for somewhere around US$10-12 or so? Can´t remember exactly but it wasn´t pricey.

When I got the powder I was quite astonished by how tiny the compact is! Its diameter measures just about 5cm!

The Make Essence Face Powder is an oil-controling face powder which I personally only use for touch-ups during the day (mainly on hot days on my chin, nose and forehead after blotting a little). I always have this in my purse as it has such a handy size.

This is a quite finely-milled sheer powder which comes only in 1 shade (a light translucent beige which should fit most light-medium skin-tones). It mattifies my skin for long time and can feel drying if I apply too much or in the wrong places (cheeks or under my eyes as the skin there is drier than the rest of my face).
This seems to carry a faint smell of mint or menthol or something fresh like that.

Overall the Make Essence Face Powder is a good cheap travel-sized powder to set and/or refresh your makeup during the day.

Contains SPF15 PA++ and costs 950 Yen. I can´t seem to find the gram weight listed anywhere on the compact or package!

Sana Covercom Foundation Stick SPF50 PA+++ in 01 (Light Beige)

Sana Covercom is a small range of powders (I did a review for one of the powders eons ago...just check the label below) however recently they also introduced new foundation sticks giving full coverage.
There are unfortunately only 2 colors available of which I chose the lighter one 01 (Light Beige).

The Covercom Stick comes in a hot pink twist-up tube and offers high sun protection (SPF50 PA+++).

The color 01 Light Beige is a light (but not fair) tone with noticable yellow undertone so it would be perfect for many light-skinned warm-toned ladie (think about NC20-25).

For me it was too yellow and slightly too dark so I had to set the stick aside after trying it out (it will end up in my blog sale) =)
This doesn´t contain fragrance but otherwise I can´t say much about staying power etc. as I didn´t really wear this for longer than 5 mins.
Overall I don´t have really an opinion about this product as the color just doesn´t match.

I got mine from Adambeauty. Price was on the cheap side (maybe US$13ish?).
