Kosé Cosmeport Softymo Speedy Instant Cleansing Foam

Softymo by Kosé Cosmeport is one of my favorite cleanser brands, their Speedy series is really good and I reviewed some products here on my blog already.

I love cleansers that dispense as foam when they come out of the pump so I definitely was interested to try out the new Speedy Instant Cleansing Foam from Softymo. Such cleansers are often gentler to the skin than regular foaming cleanser gels or pastes in my experience.
The Speedy Instant Cleansing Foam comes in a nice looking pink bottle with a pump dispenser.
The foam that comes out of the pump is a very dense and rich lather scented with the typical Softymo smell (some unobtrusive floral note, think Airy Whip).
This is a perfect and mild cleanser to use in the morning or as a 2nd step cleanser after cleansing oil or milk in the evening.
I almost used up my bottle by now and this stuff really cleanses my face well it neither dries out my skin nor irritates it the least bit so I can highly recommend this lovely face cleanser!

I got my bottle from eBay (Alphabeautyuk), I don´t see it listed elsewhere (yet).

Kosé Softymo Q10 Lift Cleansing & Q10 Lift Wash

The Q10 range from Kosé Softymo seems to be quite extensive as they have everything from bath essence (a liquid oily bath), body lotions, hand creams, face care etc. So far I love everything I tried from this line and will continue trying out new things.

I picked up the Q10 Lift Cleansing and Q10 Lift Wash about 3 months ago on Sasa but didn´t get round to using the goodies until recently.
Their slogan is: "A soothing touch that keeps your skin active and brilliant." Hehe...

I first was puzzled about the difference between the Lift Cleansing and Lift Wash...the Lift Cleansing is a cream-type makeup remover and the Lift Wash is a very mild slightly foaming wash so first use the Cleansing and then the Wash.

Both of these come in silver colored plastic squeeze-tubes (150g of the Lift Cleansing and 120g of the Lift Wash) with flip-tops. I believe they´re both unscented however the Lift Wash seems to carry a light orangey scent to me.

The Q10 Lift Cleansing is a smooth rich cream you apply on your dry made-up face and massage it to dissolve makeup and dirt. Then just rinse it off with warm water.
This seems to be effective in removing face makeup and rinses off nicely but nonetheless it leaves my skin super smooth and moisturized. While I am used to the power of cleansing oils I have to admit that I enjoy this item a lot! I think it´s because it´s being rinsed off.. I dislike cleansing milks one should just wipe off with cotton pads!
All in all this is really nice and pefect for dry skin and/or cold weather when other skin-types might feel dry or tight.
Contains Coenzyme Q10 and Shea Butter.

The Q10 Lift Wash is an extremely interesting product. When you squeeze it out it looks like petroleum jelly. It´s a translucent white extremely thick paste with an almost oily feel. However when you rub it onto your wet skin it foams up to create a very moisturizing foam (not a very dense one though) which aids in cleaning my skin thoroughly however it doesn´t dry my skin out at all so this is the ideal companion for the Lift Cleansing.
Contains Coenzyme Q10 and Shea Butter.

I paid about US$7-8 for each of those 2 goodies on Sasa. I am very pleased with both and think they are wonderful cleansers for dry skin. To me these are probably the most moisturizing makeup remover and face cleanser I tried from Japanese brands to date.

Kosé Cosmeport Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil & Speedy Cleansing Wash

I am currently on a cleansing oil/face cleanser kick. Totally insane I know but I have now a decent stash of cleansing oils and face washes waiting in my beloved backup stash drawer to be used (I don´t use more than *ahem* 3 cleansing oils and face washes at the same time (so I have about 6 bottles standing around cluttering up my bathroom lol *sigh*)...

Recently after finishing my Shiseido Tiss 2-way Off Oil (which I really liked but haven´t reviewed yet) and the HA Bubble Face Wash from Juju Aquamoist I started using the Speedy Cleansing Oil and Speedy Cleansing Wash from Kosé Cosmeport Softymo.

The cleansing oil from Softymo comes in 3 different kinds: Deep Cleansing Oil (yellow bottle/blue label), Deep Cleansing Oil White (yellow bottle/white label with blue circle) and the Speedy Cleansing Oil (light pink bottle/light blue label). I picked up the Deep Cleansing Oil and the Speedy Cleansing Oil from Sasa recently and decided to use the Speedy Cleansing Oil first simply because it is pink lol (yes, I am THAT shallow!). I also got a bottle of the Speedy Cleansing Wash which is a mild facial soap.

First off the Speedy Cleansing Oil and Speedy Cleansing Wash are really inexpensive. I got the cleansing oil in a value pack for US8.80 for a bottle containing 230ml and a refill with 170ml...that´s 400ml for that price!
The 230ml bottle of Speedy Cleansing Wash cost me US$8.80, too. Still a reasonable price in my opinion! That contains shipping already but I should add about US$1.5 per item as I paid customs fees (still a good deal =D)
I got both items from Sasa.com.

The bottles both contain a pump dispenser and are generously sized (230ml as I mentioned, most other face washes are around 120-150ml in my experience).
The design of these isn´t cute or that pretty but I somehow dig them nonetheless. They look sort of "exotic" with all that Japanese written on them hehe (I am shallow I said!)=P

Speedy Cleansing Oil:
The oil has a lightweight and thin texture. It´s very slick so 2 pumps easily cover all my face and give a pleasant slip for massaging my skin.

This is an excellent makeup remover as it leaves my skin very clean but not dry or tight. It emulsifies perfectly leaving no gross greasy film behind. As soon as the oil comes in contact with water it will turn milky and wash off really well. I also use this around my eyes to remove last traces of eye makeup.
I can´t detect a scent at all so I suppose it´s perfume-free.
All in all I am very pleased with this oil and can highly recommend it!

Speedy Cleansing Wash:
This is supposed to be a 2-in-1 cleanser for removing makeup and cleansing your face in 1 step. I just can´t do that though! I need a cleansing oil or else I will always think there must be some makeup left over on my face!

But I really love this as my face cleanser in the morning and to use after the Speedy Cleansing Oil at night to double-cleanse my skin.
This happens to be my first Japanese face wash that has a regular liquid soapy texture, not this thick whipped shimmery texture the foaming face washes tend to have (as the Muse says, much like good old razor paste).
I use 1-2 pumps and lather this up with a little water. It creates really rich and mild bubbles and doesn´t strip my skin too much of its natural oils.

This has a pleasant light fresh scent and is really mild, not too drying for my sensitive skin.

My first forray into Kosé Softymo´s cleansing oils has been a really positive experience and I also love the liquid face soap!
Since I have a refill pack this oil will last me quite a while (I am guessing easily 3 months or more with daily use!).

Bubble face wash showdown... who´s the winner?

I have accumulated quite a bunch of bubble face washes (those that come out of the pump as foam) and found them all quite different so I thought of doing a little comparison between them. I haven´t done a product comparison for long time now (except for mentioning similar products in general reviews and comparing them with each other) and I thought it would be fun to compare the foam face washes.

The contestants are:
(1) Kosé Softymo Airy Whip

(2) Juju Aquamoist HA Bubble Face Wash

(3) Kao Bioré Marshmallow Face Wash

(4) DHC Moisture Fruit Foaming Wash

(5) Sana Konuka Bubble Face Wash

1. Packaging/Size/Price (what I paid):

(1) Cute Pink metal can, 180g, US$7.60 (Sasa)
(2) White/blue plastic pump bottle with lots of Japanese writings, 150g, US$9.70 (Sasa)
(3) Pretty white/pink bottle, 160ml, US$13.50 (Adambeauty)
(4) Cute pink bottle, 100ml, US$15.40 (Sasa)
(5) Very large white bottle with Japanese writings (looks nice and somehow traditional), 150ml, US$7.50 (Sasa)
Please note that some of the washes might have a lower or higher Japanese retail price.
Best packaging: DHC, because it´s the cutest bottle =)
Best size: Airy Whip and Kao Bioré offer the largest quantities
Price: The best value for money is definitely Airy Whip, Sana Konuka is 2nd!

2. Scent/Texture:

(1) Very light floral scent with a hint of hair-mousse smell (I think the gas they use for the can). Actually it´s not really fair to compare this to the other washes as this is a mousse and not really a normal foaming wash. The mousse is super soft and dense!

(2) Unscented (slight no-scent-smell though, you know this slightly chemical one). Nice fluffy and rich texture

(3) Light floral scent, very dense and fluffy foam.

(4) Light grapefruit scent (in my opinion yucky), the foam is dense but not as fine as the other ones as you see some larger air bubbles

(5) Unscented (slight chemical smell) and nice fluffy dense texture.

Best scent: Airy Whip, then Bioré. I also like the unfragranced ones (Juju and Sana Konuka)
Best texture: Airy Whip by far, then Bioré and Juju.

3. Cleansing Power/Result:

I should add that I didn´t use any of these to remove makeup, I always use a cleansing oil, then the face wash and I use the face wash alone in the morning. So cleansing power means cleansing my face without makeup.
(1) Leaves my face very clean but nicely soft and doesn´t dry my skin out at all!
(2) This leaves my skin skin very clean, too. This is also mild and not too drying but not as mild as Airy Whip and Bioré.
(3) Again very good cleansing power and not drying at all.
(4) I only used this once and it left my face clean however I reacted to it so the result was a desaster.
(5) Leaves my face very clean however this is quite drying as my skin feels tight and uncomfortable after rinsing this off.
Best cleansing power: I can´t really notice a difference, all cleanse well
Best result: Airy Whip followed by Bioré and Juju.

Overall result:

1. Kosé Softymo Airy Whip is my winner!
2. Kao Bioré Marshmallow Face Wash is 2nd, I really love this one a lot!
3. Juju Aquamoist HA Bubble Face Wash is a great pick, too!
4. Sana Konuka Bubble Face Wash is just too drying for me so I set this aside, will mostly use it up as a body or hand wash
5. DHC Moisture Fruit Foaming Wash just didn´t work for me despite the cute bottle! A real pity! Also this is very espensive considering it only contains 100ml but costs about twice as much as Airy Whip!

I hope you liked my little showdown =) At least it was a colorful post =P

Kose Softymo Q10 Powder Wash

Ah, here we are in 2009! You can bet it will be a year full of reviews and giveaways! Time for the first post!

I used FancL's Washing Powder for about 3 years as 2nd step after the Mild Cleansing Oil and was very pleased with it. I don't know why but the idea of a foaming powder appeals to me.

Within the past year I got unfaithful to FancL even though the cleansing products are really good but I just was interested in trying other things now.

Recently I found the Softymo Q10 Powder Wash from Kose on eBay for US$10 straight (incl. shipping...seller japanbeautyproduct) so I thought it looked interesting enough to give this a try. Adambeauty does also list this for US$12.50 shipped.

For some odd reason I like the bright orange bottle the powder comes in. I think it just looks nice, no idea why exactly! =P

The bottle contains 75g of Powder Wash and comes with a normal cover and a 2nd tight cover so there won't be any spillage.
The bottle is only filled about 2/3-3/4 of its volume so don't worry when you notice that.

One thing all powder washes seem to have in common is a higher amount of enzymes. I don't know why, maybe the enzymes survive better in a dry form or something? I am far from having any idea though so that's just a guess lol.

Using the Powder Wash is easy: Just pour a little on your hand, mix with a little water to lather it up and then wash your face with the soft dense foam. I noticed that the FancL Washing Powder had the tendency to clump up a bit wheras Kose's version dissolves right away.

Nope, that is not cocaine!

The Powder Wash leaves my skin very clean and honestly I feel it's slightly drying. Anyway, my skin seems to tolerate this product very well even though my skin was messed up with a severe allergic reaction (to the My Beauty Diary Masks I used *sigh*...shall review [and rant about] them soon!)

The
Softymo Powder Wash I picked is the moisturizing one with added Coenzyme Q10. There is also a Pore Care (green bottle) and a Whitening (blue bottle) version available.

The
Powder Wash is unfragranced and doesn't contain any colorants. It smells slightly soapy, almost a bit fishy in my opinion. However the smell is not untolerable or strong and washes off right with the product.

All in all this makes a good substitute for and is comparable to the
FancL Washing Powder which only contains 50g and costs a bit more than the Softymo Powder Wash.
