Rohto Kodomo Soft Eye Drops

The Kodomo Soft Eye Drops from Rohto are actually made for children but while I have kids I am sure they wouldn´t be too happy if I use eye drops on them if it´s not absolutely needed... so I actually got the Kodomo Soft Eye Drops for myself =P

Rohto makes my favorite eye drops, I really love the Lycée ones for contact lens users (but not the regular kind as they really burn, being "cooling" level 3 out of 5), they are so refreshing and make wearing contacts a comfortable thing.
I also regularly use the Lycée Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion and the Eye Moisturizer drops for nighttime use.

The Kodomo eye drops come in the same style bottle like the Eye Moisturizer drops. There are 15ml inside and the bottle should be tossed after a month of usage.
These eye drops are good as they have absolutely no cooling feeling at all, probably since they are formulated for kids. They are good for washing something out of the eye or to moisten the eyes in the moring when you wake up but otherwise there is no special effect I see from these drops.

Overall nicely simple and basic eye drops, good to have in one´s medicine cabinet.
I got this from Sasa for around US$4 (there was a special promo going on). There is a small plastic pouch included to store the bottle on the go, too.
Made in China, not Japan btw.

Rohto Lycée Contact (eye drops & free case)

I´ve been prescribed new contact linses back in May so I ordered the Lycée Contact eye drops to keep my eyes healthy and comfortable when wearing them.
This is the first time I got contact lenses in about 10 years as previously I could only wear hard ones and found them too uncomfy to even bother...so I was just wearing my specs. Anyway, finally I can wear lenses again (1-month disposable ones) =D

I found an offer for the Lycée Contact & a free case so I ordered them from Alphabeautyuk. Incl. the case the drops just cost 0.20$ more so I got the ones with the storage case.

I honestly thought the case would be a container to hold the lenses but it´s actually a storage case for the eye drops. It comes with a mirror but I neither use a mirror to insert the lenses or drops nor to remove them but a mirror can always be handy anyway.

The Lycée Contact eye drops come in a very cute little bottle in light pink. I can surely get eye drops for contact lenses in Austria but why not get the cute ones from Japan hehe? And they´re not pricey and the 8ml will last a while (though please remember to discard your eye drops regularly, about every 2-3 months max).

I tried the regular Lycée eye drops before and honestly they stung too much since they are "cooling". I don´t mind a little cooling effect but the regular ones just felt painful and not refreshing.
The Lycée Contact seem to be milder (they are only cooling level 1 out of 5, I believe the regular one is 3) as I feel a light cooling sensation but not the heavy burning and stinging like in the regular ones. The Contact drops seem to make my eyes feel refreshed and awake when I use them so they´re really perfect for a contact lens wearer.

Overall I recommend the Lycée Contact eye drops even if you don´t wear contacts over the regular kind. If you like the cooling sensation you might want to try the Rohto Z! drops as they are obviously the most cooling (aka burning, cooling level 6 respectively 7) drops from Rohto as far as I know (available in various kinds incl. for contact lens wearers, regular, multi-purpose etc.) =P

Use 4-6 times per day (at most), 1-2 drops per application. Don´t touch the nozzle to prevent contamination and always close cap tightly after use.
These eye drops are free of colorant, the pink tint comes from the Vitamin B12 contained in the liquid.

Active ingredients:
Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate 0.5%
Potassium Chloride 0.08%
Sodium Chloride 0.44%
Sodium Bicarbonate 0.05%
Hydroxyethylcellulose 0.02%

Like all my reviews these are my personal opinions. Please use at your own risk!

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Shills Avocado Eye Cream

Hmmm...this product might look familiar to you as a known US brand has an avocado eye cream in a very similarly designed pot... (*cough* KIEHL´S *cough*).
Shills loves to get "inspired" by other brands so this doesn´t astonish me hehe =)

Anyway, for around 8 bucks you can get a 15ml jar of Shills Avocado Eye Cream from Sasa and I recommend doing that if you are in need of a very rich moisturizing eye cream.

Sasa writes about this stuff:
"
Enriched with high nourishing vitamin E, natural avocado oil extract, giving ample moisture to the delicate skin around your eye. Hence, it enhances the flexibility of the eye area. Formulated with a unique "Dual Moisturizing Whitening Mechanism"— it is enriched with licorice resin and Chamomile extract to improve uneven skin tone, so that skin around the eyes is supple with a translucent glow. The use of Shea butter, Hawaiian nut oils helps retain nourishing ingredients within your skin. By the moment the cream touch your skin, it will transform to a watery texture, its innovative texture allows better absorption than other eye product, giving you maximum benefit without burdening your delicate pericular area."

The pot this comes in is not cute or even pretty in my opinion. Shills has so many cute items out so they could have chosen a more beautiful design but I think they wanted this product to be more "inspired" by the other product mentioned above hehe =)

The Avocado Eye Cream is very rich and thick and a little goes a long way. It´s very mild as it doesn´t sting or burn and it doesn´t irritate my delicate eye area at all. On the contrary, this stuff is really an excellent moisturizer as it makes the skin around my eyes so smooth and soft and smooths out very fine lines caused by dryness.

I only use this at night as it´s so rich and the weather is hot now but I think in fall/winter I can also use this during the day as it will help to protect from the harsh cold wind and weather in general.
This cream is scented, the sort of soft avocado-scent you might know from other brands but which actually doesn´t smell like real avocados at all =)

Overall a great little product for a good price. The jar should last ages as you only need very little per application.

Rohto Eye Moisturizer (overnight treatment)

I am really extremely happy with the Eye Wash Lotion from Rohto which I use daily. I recently ordered a (I think new) product from Rohto which is an "Eye Moisturizer" to use during the night.

The Eye Moisturizer comes in a very pretty bottle which looks more like a perfume or nail color bottle. You can use this up to 6 times a day but I only use it at night which is the intended usage.
The 4 active ingredients are printed here:

They are helping to relief eye tiredness, promote blood circulation, moisturize and hydrate the eyes.
Unlike the Rohto Lycée eyedrops this product does not have a cooling sensation or burning feeling so I personally feel it´s very comfortable to use.

All in all this is a really nice product. I can´t say how well this moisturizes my eyes lol... but my eyes feel comfortable and I didn´t have problems with the scratch on my cornea since I started using this (as the scratch stings when my eye gets too dry which is a rather painful experience).

I got this from Alphabeautyuk on eBay.

Rohto Lycée Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion

I´ve been using the Rohto Lycée eyedrops for some time now and really like them (will review soon, too!) so when I spotted their Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion I immediately ordered it (from alphabeautyuk on Ebay, also ordered the 450ml jumbo bottle!).

My eyes are one of my weakest points... I had several surgeries as I was born with a squint leaving me with small scars inside my eyes which makes it hard to wear contact lenses (I used hard ones but they were so uncomfy I always wear glasses now as I am very hyperopic). Furthermore my left eye has a scratch on the cornea which usually doesn´t cause any problems but when I open my eye too quickly after sleeping deeply it hurts like someone punched me in the eye with his fist as the cornea is a bit dry and the lid can stick to the scratch and open it when I open my eye.

Anyways, I always take good care of my eyes as I am visiting my ophthalmologist frequently, replace mascara often and use gentle eye products. Even though I consider my eyes sensitive I rarely react to any makeup or eye care products and I have an eye infection once in 5 years at most. I never rub my eyes and generally keep my hands off my face (I really trained hard to do that lol!)

The new Rohto Lycée Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion is a welcome extra step of my evening facecare routine as it helps in removing any last traces of mascara (those little bits that enter the eye) and dust and generally making my eyes feel fresh and rested.

You get a bottle of rose-scented liquid with a special suction cup to wash your eyes. You pour 5ml of liquid into the cup (up to the line), place it gently over your eye, squeeze it lightly and then lift your head a bit till the liquid is over your eyes. Open your eyes and blink several times for around 10 seconds. Discard liquid and fill again to do the other eye.
This stuff doesn´t burn or sting at all which makes it really a comfy thing. If you have a slightly blurry vision from removing eye makeup this stuff will help getting rid of it.

All in all I really like this and will continue using it! Contains Vitamins B6 and B12, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid, is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
Besides that the bottle is darn cute =)
You can use this up to 6 times a day but I use it 1x at night after removing makeup and sometimes in the morning if my eyes feel very dry.

I got the 80ml bottle which costs about 600 Yen and waiting for the 450ml bottle which costs about 1100 Yen so it´s MUCH better value for money! The smaller bottle is convenient for travels etc. though!
