Fall 2010: Clé de Peau Beauté Extra Silky Lipstick in 127 & 128

The Extra Silky Lipstick from Clé de Peau Beauté is probably the best (and one of the most luxurious) lipstick ranges I know...though still the difference to other great lipsticks quality-wise isn´t that high so e.g. in my opinion the Moist Melting Rouge lipsticks from Lavshuca or some of the lipsticks from Maquillage or Coffret d´Or are a great and more affordable alternative to the Extra Silky Lipsticks. That´s why I personally wouldn´t pay retail (US$52!) for the Cdp lippies but I am always happy when I can get a good deal on eBay. My limit is about US$25-30 & shipping as this is what I would pay for e.g. Coffret d´Or.
I got the Extra Silky Lipstick in the 2 new fall colors, 127 and 128, for a good price on eBay as I was the only bidder. Probably nobody else found these as the seller listed these as "Extra Silly Lipsticks" haha!

The twist-up tubes come in the elegant signature deep blue shimmery CdP color. The lipsticks are not retractable so be sure to only twist out the amount you need not to crush the tip of the lipstick.
To twist out the color the cap should be attached to the end of the tube for easier handling.

The 2 new fall colors are very different from each other and as I am used to from CdP they are exceptionally creamy with a gorgeous rich moist and nicely pigmented lustrous finish making my lips look plump and glossy.

These lipsticks wear very well, feel comfortable and moisturizing and last for several hours on me if I don´t eat or drink. They don´t gunk up on the inner part of my lips either so a great product all the way round.

They are definitely wonderful quality and a really nice indulgence however still the price-tag would turn me off lol but for the price I paid I am very satisfied for sure.

These lipsticks are unfragranced and unflavored and contain a measly 2g.

127 is a color that looks more suitable for spring and summer which doesn´t prevent me from wearing it whenever I want hehe =P It´s a very pretty coral pink.

128 is definitely my favorite color as it´s a soft raspberry rose shade.

Overall I love the lush texture and lustrous finish of these lipsticks but the price-tag certainly is very high.

Rating: 5/5 (not detucting for the price as I got them cheaper and the lippies totally deserve the 5 stars).

Clé de Peau Beauté Satin Eye Color in #101 & 102

Clé de Peau is Shiseido´s super high-end brand costing seriously lots of money. I am not the person to spend US$45 (+tax) on an eyeshadow *single* (I will on a quad/quint etc. though) but since there is eBay there are always nice deals coming along so I am the proud owner of 2 Clé de Peau Satin Eye Colors for less than the price of 1 =)

Clé de Peau is pretty much available internationally but sure here at the makeup butt of the world we don´t have it (well, I am sure they´d rob us €50 or so per shadow!)...anyway, at least we have internet to get what we want from abroad =D

Anyway, the compacts are the typical elegant night blue and golden ones you might know from other CdP products. Very luxurious and elegant as you would expect for such a pricey item.
The applicator that comes with the Satin Eye Colors is a standard sponge-applicator...nothing spectacular and actually they could have included one with a sponge and a brush on the other end. But anyway, I use my own tools so I am ok with that.

The eyeshadows are shaped somewhat like jewels which is quite pretty in my opinion.
The texture of these is not really soft but silky (sort of like baked shadows) and they are well-pigmented with a gorgeous pearl shimmer. The shadows don´t crumble or fly around at all so they are pleasant to apply. I find the darker color I got (#102) is a bit hard to blend though and can look uneven until I put a few layers. That´s quite annoying but the final result is really nice so I can live with that.

Staying power is not the best though. I found the colors faded a good deal after 6-8 hours. I rarely wear makeup for longer times than this but I expect my shadows to stay put for a timespan of 8-10 hours at least. I didn´t experience creasing or irritations.
Overall I think these are good but not outstanding so not worth the retail price in my opinion. If you can score them on eBay or so they are definitely nice to add to one´s stash.

101 is an off-white shade whereas 102 is a deep bluish gray.

Spring 2009: Coffret D'or Full Keep Gel Liner & Essence Lip Base (& a few gel liner swatches)

I am really enjoying this spring with all its pretty new goodies to indulge in.
I already reviewed 2 of the new Shine Drape Rouge lipsticks so today it's time for 2 more goodies from Coffret D'or's Spring 2009 collection.

First is the Lip Essence Base which is a lip balm to be used before you apply lipstick or gloss (I always use a base!).
It's a pretty slick and slightly thick unscented/unflavored balm with a very subtle pink tone to it. It leaves a pretty glossy shine so it's pretty worn on its own.

If you want to use this as a base I recommend using just very little as otherwise it will sheer out your lipstick or gloss too much unless you want to tone down a very pigmented lip color.
The 7g are packed in a hygienic squeeze tube with a slanted applicator.

I got mine on Gooddealer for about US$24 (shipping already included). Adambeauty lists this for US$20 incl. shipping so as most of the time he's the best source to purchase this.

I was hesitant trying the new Full Keep Gel Liner after my friend Iris from Rouge Deluxe said it totally sucks (lack of pigment etc.).
However I was really drawn to the color GY-05 which looked like a pretty basic gray (it's not basic at all, more later).

The Full Keep Gel Liners come in frosted little glass jars with a high-quality brush (it's the twist-out type like many lip brushes).
The texture of the liner is quite soft and a little crumbly if you dip your brush too deed inside.

And Iris is right, it's hard to get pigment at first because of the soft slightly waxy texture but oddly after softening the gel a bit by digging around with the brush and if you load enough of the gel on the brush you get a pretty nicely pigmented even line. I used 2 layers to make it show up as intensely as I wanted it. Once it's dry it's totally smudge-proof.

It's not the best gel liner (Kanebo can do a better job as they proof with their fantastic Kate Gel Liners).

However the color GY-05 is a pretty unique purple gray base with multi-colored micro-glitters (mainly red and blue). My cam couldn't capture the color correctly though! It's much more complex than it looks on the pic!

I paid US$25 shipped from Adambeauty.

This is yet another pretty gel liner I discovered within the previous months and I really love the color a lot!
So here is a comparison of the gel liners that are more special than the typical blacks, browns, navies and whatnot.

Spring 2009: Cle de Peau Le Natural Absolu - Intensifying Cream Eyeliner #103 & Extra Silky Lipstick #118 & 119

Cle de Peau is a brand I rarely buy from. Their prices are obscene as it's Shiseido's super high-end brand so I only buy on eBay when I think the price is ok.

The theme of their Spring 2009 collection is very simple: Super natural beauty. The whole collection features browns and beiges so if you are into super natural makeup the Cle de Peau Spring collection is your ideal choice for picking up a few high-quality items great for everyday use.

The whole collection was listed on eBay from one of my favorite sellers but honestly the eyeshadows quads looked too blah (rather warm beiges) for my taste, the 2 regular lipsticks were too brown/warm and I wasn't interested in the black and brown cream liners.

But since I really deeply love the Extra Silky Lipsticks (I liked 2 of the new colors) and was interested in the deep gray Intensifying Cream Eyeliner (#103) I decided to pick these items up.
They still were so pricey but a bit cheaper than retail so it was the best chance to get them at that point.

-Extra Silky Lipsticks in 118 & 119:

I already reviewed the Extra Silky Lipsticks here so I won't go too much into details.
These lipsticks just have the most divine lush creamy buttery texture ever!

Each Extra Silky Lipstick retails for US$50 in the US but 5250 Yen in Japan (=US$58) which is very steep for a lipstick (but I am a spoiled brat and think these are worth it!).
Be careful when you twist the lipstick out as it does NOT retract. Just plug the cap on the end of the lipstick and twist out the amount you're planning to use.
Contains Cle de Peau's Hydro-Wrap Complex and Argan Tree Oil.
The 2 Spring colors have a very translucent glossy finish which is really pretty!

#118 (left):

I first thought that this was clear when I swatched it on the back fo my hand. However it's a pale pink mother-of-pearl colors but very sheer so it just looks very soft and natural.

#119 (right):

A light sheer glossy peachy beige. Very pretty for an understated natural look. This has a bit more pigment than #118.

I am VERY pleased with the new colors I picked out. #120 looked really nice, too, but I wanted to limit myself to 2 lipsticks as they were still rather pricey (though sure quite a bit below retail).

-Intensifying Cream Eyeliner:

I believe this is the star item of the new collection. It's a brand new range of eyeliners in little jars and comes in 3 colors.
101 is black, 102 is brown and 103 is a shimmery deep gray which looked like a color I don't have in my stash yet so I settled on this color.

First off a minor rant: I was shocked to see in which kind of flimsy plastic jar this is packaged.
Come on, for 6300 Yen (=US$69)/US$60 (retail in the USA) this should come in a sturdy heavy luxurious pot and not in a super lightweight cheapo plastic jar!

But that's my only little complaint. The product itself is GREAT and the brush provided is of excellent quality, too!
The jar is rather flat and wide. On the cream liner the Cle de Peau logo is printed on with blue color which wipes off when you touch it.
The Intensifying Cream Eyeliner is creamy but not too soft and the flat rounded brush picks up the perfect amount with just a few swipes.
The color is intense and well pigmented and applies absolutely smoothly. It dries down to a smudgeproof finish quickly so for me this is more of a gel eyeliner than a cream eyeliner (as the difference for me is that the cream liner stays creamy hence it has the tendency to smudge).
Contains Cle de Peau's Hydro-Wrap Complex and Argan Tree Oil.

#103 is a gorgeous very deep shimmery gray. It is a bit softer than black but still gives perfect definition. I used it with the new Kate Diamond Cut Eyes in BK-1 (I will review the Kate spring stuff soon) and they work together perfectly.

The Intensifying Cream Eyeliner is definitely great but it's very expensive. I suggest picking up a Kate, Maquillage or Esprique Precious gel liner if you prefer to score a better deal. Those 3 brands make fantastic gel liners!
I also like the new Coffret D'or Full Keep Eyeliner in GY-05 which is a very complex bluish gray shade (but texture-wise a bit harder to work with). I will review this along with their new Lip Essence soon, too!

Flawless skin in 30 seconds: Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer

The famous and very popular Cle de Peau Beaute Concealer always called my name but so far I didn't call back.

I searched eBay before and either found none in the lighest color Ivory or the price was ridiculous and then I forgot about it until recently.

I should have listened earlier as this is one of the most perfect concealers out there.

Like all CdP stuff this comes in the revamped smooth midnight blue tube that feels rather heavy and looks elegant and posh.
It's a solid concealer in a swivel-up stick like lipstick.
This comes in 3 colors and I ordered the lightest in Ivory/Ivoire and prayed it would be light enough.

This is indeed one of the best color-match I ever found in a concealer. It's slightly more yellow than my skin but it blends in so beautifully I can wear this on spots without any other makeup and it will just look like my skin but perfect.
The coverage-strength of this concealer is very good. The texture is slightly powdery and not greasy at all and feels lightweight on my skin. Blending is a breeze and staying-power is really good.

All in all it is very worth its pricetag (I paid US$50 but I think it's like US$65 retail price) and it contains 5g.

Cle de Peau Beaute really have some very good items like their fabulous Silky Lipsticks and a few of their eyeshadow quads (I am loving the one from last fall in black/gray and purple/pink color combinations). I stumbled across some crap, too, but overall it's a very good brand (and they better be good for all that money they take for their products!)

While I still love my cheap concealers from Beauty Credit, Etude House and various other brands I have to admit that CdP is probably the best among them. But for the price of 1 CdP Concealer you can buy like 6 or 7 tubes of the others and they perform well, too.

Deals of the week =D

Yesterday I got a package with really really really good deals!
I got the Cle de Peau Serum Blanc Extra AC for US$29.99 instead of the retail of 8400 Yen (About US$80)

Furthermore I received 6 Ettusais lipglosses for US$27 whereas each gloss retails for 1575 Yen (about US$15/each)

Sometimes there are really great deals on eBay!
