My Scheming Silk Protein and Caviar Extract Masks

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!
My Scheming is a (new?) brand of sheet masks from Taiwan. I got couple of mask packs from Hong Kong (the Double Lifting series which came in boxes of 5 pcs) and recently I got 2 of the 10-pc packs from Sasa as they were really cheap (US$7.60 per 10pcs), however the price has gone up to US$12.60 which is a little weird!.

I got the masks in the Silk Protein and Caviar Extract versions.
The masks are made of super soft and rather thin cloth which is cut to fit excellently. Furthermore each of them is saturated with 30ml of a liquid gel-like essence which is quite a lot but due to the great cut and thin well-adhering material it doesn´t slip.

Like the majority of sheet masks this is a refreshing treat which makes my skin super smooth and soft and gives a certain brightness to my complexion.
The masks are lightly scented but with a pleasant not overly heavy fragrance.
Effect-wise I don´t notice a difference between Silk Protein and Caviar Extract.

Overall these are high-quality masks, are affordable and mild to my skin, brighten my complexion and feel refreshing.

FancL Beauty Concentrate Mask (for the eye area)

The sheet masks from FancL tend to be expensive but of excellent quality, my most favorite mask is from FancL (Moist Vital Mask), but I don´t often buy it as it´s really pricey/piece.

I recently purchased one pair of the Beauty Concentrate Mask (an eye mask) to try this out though I knew it would be a mistake coz these masks are really expensive and I´d surely like to order more if I like the sample pack I got =P

The masks come in a plastic pack and in a small container so that they dont loose their shape during transit. Each mask is heavily saturated with a white milky lotion and is made of a super silky thicker cloth-like material.

As I already expected these masks are fantastic, they make my undereye area super soft and silky, I can still feel the moisturizing effect a day later and fine lines caused by skin dryness are pretty much erased using these masks.

Just stick to the skin below your eyes, leave on for about 10 minutes (I left them for a good 30 mins), pat in the remaining beauty liquid, don´t wash off.

These are unscented and didn´t irritate my skin at all.

Isqueen Princess Carnival Fuji Sakura Brightening Mask (comes with 5ml olive essence primer)

Isqueen is a Chinese beauty brand which deserves to be tested as there are some really nice products in their lineup.

I reviewed some of their products before and today I am showing you my so far favorite product from this brand.

The Princess Carnival mask series is brand new, featuring a variety of sheet masks with ingredients from all over the world like lily from Scotland, Aegean rose etc.
I purchased a package of the Fuji Sakura Brightening Masks first but ordered more masks so you can expect more reviews soon.

I am a sucker for packaging so I must admit that I LOVE the cute packaging. The princess is so cute and I adore the sweet pink color of the sakura tree!

What makes these masks special is that they come with a primer liquid to be applied before the actual mask. The olive primer essence is filled into the upper right part of the mask pack and should be applied right before the mask as it will help the skin to absorb the mask liquid faster.

The "induction essence" is a clear liquid with a light slip but no oily or heavy feeling at all. The 5ml are plenty for one application.

The mask itself is made of a thicker very soft and smooth cloth with a good cut so it fits snuggly and doesn´t need to be constantly adjusted (something that happens with poorly cut masks).
The sheets are very drenched with a milky essence which feels quite moisturizing and smooth. It has a very non-descript floral scent, not quite like sakura and I can´t describe exactly like what it smells.

The sheet contains 25g of liquid which makes it feel heavy and very wet but it stays in place well nonetheless.
After wearing the mask for 15-20 minutes my skin looks visibly brighter and more even and feels very plump and moist. This is an effect all good sheet masks give to my skin though so the Princess Carnival Fuji Sakura Brightening Mask performs just as good as my other favorite masks.
I am not quite sure how much use the primer really has. I believe the mask would perform pretty much the same with or without primer so for me this is a bit of a gimmick.
Still I think this is really good stuff and very worth purchasing and the primer after all is a nice little extra.

I got mine from Alphabeautyuk on eBay for around US$11 for 5 pieces. I ordered the value pack of all 4 available kinds a few days ago so reviews for those masks will follow later.

Skin Food Salmon Eye Patch

I love using sheet masks, that´s nothing new to most of my readers....but I hardly ever use the patches designed especially for the eye area as...well...probably I am just too lazy lol. I have several boxes of various eye sheet masks but they just sit there unused most of the time.

Since I am approaching my 30th birthday I got more aware of taking good care of the skin around my eyes as I noticed a few fine lines, especially under my eyes. So I whipped out those eye sheet masks and try to use them regularly. Of course I use eye creams daily (a light one from Cosmetex Roland during the day and the Meishoku Sleep Beauty Eye Cream or the Shills Avocado Eye Cream at night).
Anyway, I scored a nice lot of Skin Food goodies in an eBay auction and one of the items was a box of the Salmon Eye Patch.

I like the bulky brown cardboard box, it looks somehow elegant and precious and salmon is a very luxurious food so that fits with the look =)
There are 8 pairs (each pair wrapped individually) of eye masks in the box which is a quite generous amount, most eye masks come in packs of 5 pairs only.

The eye masks aren´t sheet masks actually since they aren´t made of cloth, they are made of a jelly-like material which is transparent with a slightly peachy (or salmon) tint. Don´t worry, these don´t smell like salmon (I was a bit wary of that actually hehe) but has a rather unobtrusive floral scent.
Since these masks aren´t made of cloth there is no "essence" but still the jelly makes my undereye area really soft and smooth and reduces fine lines and slight puffiness visibly for a few hours. It´s more of a temporary effect but well, it´s there.

The gel pads stick very well to the eye area and are quite large so they cover a good part.

Here you can see how many layers of plastic the patches are protected with!

Just apply for 10-15 minutes, then peel off.
I am not aware of the retail price in Korea, sorry! Normally Skin Food´s prices don´t break the bank there. I know that in other countries (or on eBay) the prices tend to be very inflated though!

Overall good for giving a temporary lift and smoothness to the undereye-area, for deeper hydration I prefer a wet eye patch like the ones from Beautymate or Hisamitsu.

DIY Skin Care: Sheet Masks (Naris Up Skin Conditioner HA Lotion & Kanebo Sure Up sheet mask tablets)

I know a daily sheet mask is something wonderful but on the long run a quite expensive and uneconomic thing since they usually come wrapped in single sachets. I like either buying boxes containing say 20 or 30 sheet masks or actually do them myself as it´s fun and the lotion can be varied. They are not replacing my favorite masks from Simply Sexy Look but they make a great substitute for some days of the week so I can enjoy the benefits of a lotion mask several times a week instead of my usual 2-3x.

I think the most known Japanese brand advertising dry pressed sheet mask tablets to use with their lotion is Kosé Sekkisei. But other brands sell them now and you can use any skin toner (aka lotion in Japanese beauty terms) to enjoy its benefits for longer than just swiping it on with a cotton pad.
The cheapest sheet mask tablets I found so far online are from Kanebo Sure Up which cost US$4.50 for a pack of 15 pieces shipped from Adambeauty. there might be cheaper ones if you do a thorough search but that is already pretty good I think.
I got one pack and I also picked up a bottle of Naris Up Skin Conditioner HA lotion with Hyaluronic Acid quite some time before to use for the masks from Sasa. The 360ml bottle cost me around US$5.50. It´s specifically meant to be used as a face treatment with cotton pads but I like the sheet mask tablets more =)
To make a mask just drip the lotion onto a tablet until it´s saturated and unfold the mask. The unfolding is a bit tricky as the sheet is really densely pressed and it´s made of a very thin soft material which can tear apart easily. The cut of these masks is really nice so they are really nice and feel very light on the skin. If you prefer very soft and thick masks this is not for you I guess =)
The Skin Conditioner is excellent in my opinion. It is rather liquid but with a nice slippery feeling and after using this for about 5-10 minutes my skin looks really clear and bright and well moisturized. The lotion is a bit sticky when it dries so I prefer using a moisturizer to reduce the stickiness or wash the residues off.
Doesn´t irritate my skin and is not fragranced at all so it´s great stuff.

To create one mask I need less than 10ml of the lotion so the bottle will last for many sheet masks. If I did the maths correctly one sheet mask costs about US$0.40 if I calculate getting 3 packs of Kanebo masks (=45 pieces) with 1 bottle of Naris Up Skin Conditioner (which comes in more versions, not only the one with HA). That´s quite a good rate I think. Surely if you get 100 sheet masks from Gmarket from Purederm or another cheap brand it might probably cost you less but I still think the mask tablets and lotion are a good thing and convenient.

Fueki Honey Lemon Mask

I am now in Egypt =D The trip was quite good though a bit exhausting, especially for my kids.
My husband threatened me with nearly daily family/friend meet-ups but ok, the 5 weeks will pass lol =D Yes, I am not that fond to travel in general as I am a very home-attached person (well, I´d go to Japan or other places in Asia without any feeling of home-sickness, I am sure!)

Anyway, just 10 days before I left my mum asked me to get her some things from Sasa for a friend (whom I got hooked on Hisamitsu Lifecella masks) so I took the opportunity and got some more goodies for me incl. all items they had from the Fueki range (there are only 3 different product anyway lol).

I spotted the Honey Lemon Mask for the longest time but found it quite expensive as you get only 1 sheet for nearly US$7! That is quite out of my personal price-range for sheet masks usually as after all they are thrown away after 1 use!

Anyway, I got couple of them because I was just seriously curious. I should have ordered 3 pieces as I found out after placing my order that each mask comes actually in a small jar! I have 3 kids thus I should have gotten 3 pieces as they are aleady struggling over them! *sigh*

The Honey Lemon Mask comes as mentioned above in the cutest little jar featuring a head of some animal (a dog or so?). It wears a brown cap which is the cover.
The mask itself is heavily saturated with essence (30ml!) and has a light beige color.
Since this mask is so wet it tears apart easily so one must be careful when unfolding it. I tore the part under the nose when I used my first mask right when I tried to unfold it!
The cloth is really soft and with a good cut but the liquid is very sticky so you have to wash your face after using this. The mask isn´t really scented but I got a whiff of something sweet when wearing it.

I used my 2 masks and really love them as they make my face very soft and smooth and give it a bright look. Nothing my beloved Sexy Look mask can´t do as well so this Fueki mask isn´t cheap really but the jar is so cute (and kind of waseteful actually) and it´s a really nice mask so worth to indulge from time to time.

Overall recommended but surely a splurge and not a steal!

Face Q Sheet Mask (various)

Sasa recently listed those ubercute sheet masks from a Taiwanese brand called Face Q. The box of 10 cost about US$12 for 10 pieces so I quickly grabbed 3 boxes of different sheet masks... I wish I hadn´t!

Face Q is produced by PPC Life, a Taiwanese pharmaceutical company... when I saw the website addy printed on the back of the box it looked familiar to me but I couldn´t remember which product I tried before from the same company...

Well, I tried on the Red Grape & Green Tea Mask and it was very nice, with an excellent fit and feel. The sheets are made of natural pulp instead of cotton so they adhere and adjust to the face shape very well.
I washed the essence that was left over on my face off and used my usual skincare before I went to bed.
I woke up in the middle of the night to notice that I had a very swollen, red and itchy face..so I assumed it must have been the mask as I didn´t use any other new things that day.

The next day I checked the website ppc-life.com.tw and to my horror found out that it´s the same company producing My Beauty Diary! I had a horrible allergic reaction to the masks form MBD some time ago (maybe couple of years?) and seems the same irritant must have been used in the Face Q masks, too!
Had I checked the website earlier I probably wouldn´t have tried the masks *sigh*.

Anyway, if you are sensitive to MBD I suggest staying far away from Face Q but if you like MBD you might just love Face Q.

I am selling the boxes so if anyone is interested, please let me know. The boxes of Luffa & Adlay and Red Pomegranate & CoQ10 are still sealed whereas I took 1 mask from the Red Grapes & Green Tea masks. If you are interested please email me (lotuspalace@gmail.com).

Isqueen Whitening Essence Collagen Mask value pack

I´ve been indulging in more stuff from Isqueen with my recent Sasa orders as there were quite a few products that looked worth trying.

Isqueen offers 2 value packs of sheet masks of which each contains 2 packs of masks (6 pcs/each so 12 masks total of either the Whitening Essence Collagen Mask or the Moisturizing Essence Collagen Mask) and a 15ml tube of their Crystal White Moist Peeling Pack. The whole bunch costs are mere US$12.40 which is a steal in my opinion.

I purchased both packs but will review the Whitening Essence Collagen Mask set which comes in the pink box today.

The Crystal White Moist Peeling Pack is a lightweight gel which you spread on your cleansed dry skin and massage it in until you feel small grains forming (those are supposedly your dead skin cells and pore-deep dirt!) and then you just wash it off. It really works as almost instantly after starting rubbing the gel into my skin I can feel those small beads forming.

I think this makes my skin very smooth and soft and it´s a perfect prep for the mask afterwards. My skin doesn´t get tight but it looks a little irritated (as in a bit red) afterwards so I am not completely digging this stuff. I use it but only once in a while... and the scent is a bit weird but it´s bearable.
I use this stuff on and off to exfoliate as my skin gets smooth and soft but I think if you have sensitive skin like me you shouldn´t use this too often.

What Sasa has to say about this stuff:
"IsQueen Crystal White Moist Peeling Pack brings you bright, smooth and instantly whitened skin.
  • Natural papaya proteinase can instantly soften aged keratin, speeding up the flaking of freckles and colour patches.
  • Vitamin PP can effectively improve uneven and dull skin tone and help retaining a long lasting whitening effect.
  • Amino acid moisturizing factor can replenish water and nutrient to skin, solving problems of roughness and dehydration.
  • Hyaluronic acid can effectively balance the water supplying system of skin, constantly moisturize, smooth dry skin lines and prevent formation of tiny wrinkles."
The Whitening Essence Collagen Masks are nicely cut thus fit my face well. The (slightly thick) cloth is soft and is saturated with lots of liquid (can´t see the amount written anywhere on the box). The mask stays on well on my face so I don´t feel it slides down constantly.

I expected the masks to be heavily perfumed like some other Isqueen masks I tried before but to my delight the Whitening Essence Collagen Mask have only a very light nice scent so nothing bothersome there in my opinion.

The masks feel nice and cooling and leave my skin moisturized and soft (like pretty much most sheet masks unless they irritate my skin). I also can notice a slight brightening effect so I am pretty pleased with the masks.

The masks contain Collagen, Aloe Essence, Nano-Vitamin A etc.
Overall this is a decent mask set and a good value for money. It´s not my favorite (which are currently the Simply/Sexy Look masks) but a good buy nonetheless!

Rosette Hello Kitty Moist & Lift Mask

Rosette has a small skincare line with Hello Kitty which as it seems is quite popular now. Rosette has fabulous skincare (I have to review the Soys line soon which is my current favorite facecare line!) so I didn´t hesitate to pick up 3 pcs of their Hello Kitty Moist & Lift Mask despite the rather high price of US$14/3 pcs (on Ebay).

Awwwwwww! Hello Kitty is showing us how to use the masks! Isn´t that too cute?

The cut and fit of the mask isn´t perfect in my opinion. It´s too wide at the top which means you´d have to stick it on your hair and makes the mask peel off a few times when wearing it for 15 minutes.
The thin cotton cloth is soft and comfortable otherwise though.

The essence the masks are saturated with is fragranced with a yummy candied apple scent...Hello Kitty´s favorite! =D
The liquid is on the lightweight not overly nourishing side so I honestly don´t notice much moisturization as I am used from most sheet masks however I notice an instand brightening effect which I think is rather nice (but something most other cheaper sheet masks can do as well).

Overall these masks are cute and smell good but they aren´t among the best I tried. Right now my favorite masks are from Simply and Simply Sexy Look (which I reviewed recently) and my old fave Kanebo Kracie Hadabisei (the black ones).
