Spring 2011: Visée Mineral Cheeks Baby Finish & Mineral BB Cream Baby Finish

If you see this post on another site than lotuspalace.blogspot.com it has been stolen and used without my permission. I only allow reposts with proper credits for my work (please contact me first!)!

Woohoo! Visée managed to jump on 2 bandwagons with 1 product: Mineral BB Cream! How cool is that =D
I picked these goodies up from Adambeauty before I went to Hong Kong and I am happy I did as I didn´t find Visée in Hong Kong myself when I went there. Probably missed whichever shop stocks Visée!

Anyways, I picked up the Mineral BB Cream Baby Finish and 3 of the new Mineral Cheeks Baby Finish blushes.

I like the white and sort of lighweight and airy design of the new Visée products as it looks really pretty.

The Mineral BB Cream comes in a quite small squeeze tube containing only 25g for a retail price of 1400 Yen.

It´s unscented and has a slick slightly thick texture ike most other BB creams but still it´s neither heavy nor uncomfortable to wear. The color is really light and quite neutral-toned however it will work for most skin-tones as it´s really sheer so to me this is more like a makeup-base rather than a regular BB cream as the coverage isn´t really sufficient but it does even out my skin a little.

The finish is slightly dewy which is really pretty in my opinion.

Overall this is a really lovely and mild makeup base but not really what I would classify as a BB cream.

The Mineral Cheeks caught my eye the moment I spotted them on Rouge Deluxe so I instantly knew I´d have to pick up some of these.
There are 4 colors in each palette. The lower 2 colors are deeper and a bit more matte and the top 2 colors are shimmery and more suitable as highlighters.

The texture of these is a little dry but finely milled and easily blendable. The thing I dislike about these blushes is that the colors are all too glittery for my liking except for the deepest color which is matte. It´s the kind of glitter that is quite obvious and not giving a dewy but indeed a shimmery finish.

The colors are quite standard and nothing special at all.
The included brushes are quite soft and can work in a spot but I still prefer my regular blush brush.

Overall cute blushes but they can be skipped in my opinion.

PK-1 is a sweet pink combo

PK-4 is a dusty rose combo

RD-5 is peach-tangerine beige combo

Spring 2011: Visée Glam Shade Eyes BR-2, GY-6 & PU-7

For the springtime this year Visée released a brand new series of eyeshadow palettes so I picked up 3 of the colors from Adambeauty even though these were a little pricier (US$21...RRP is around that: 1800 Yen) than e.g. Kate or Lavshuca eyeshadows. Actually not a little pricier, the difference is quite significant, especially compared to Lavshuca.

The new palettes aren´t as pretty as the previous ones but I liked the lay-out of the 5 colors.

All eyeshadows are powders, there is no cream base. The shade at the very right is more glittery than the rest and is meant for the inner part of the eye to brighten that area.

The texture is smooth but the shadows are really hard to blend and apply blotchy so some layers are needed to achieve a nice result....not easy to deal with for makeup beginners I´d say. 2 of the palettes I have (the BR and PU ones) also are really lacklustre once applied, they look sort of flat and boring, lacking any kind of dimension.

Staying power is good, once applied the shadows stay in place very well on my lids.

BR-2 looked like a pretty taupe combo but turned out a flat boring brown quint. Still good for a conservative environment but nothing outstanding by any means.

GY-6 is the best of the 3 palettes, the gunmetal gray is really rich and pigmented with a lustrous finish. Hard to blend like the other palettes, though, but still better

PU-7 is the worst of the lot as it´s a red-toned sheer dull combo of plums

Overall these palettes aren´t worth purchasing in my humblest opinion, rather get a Kate Dual Blend Eyes or a Lavshuca palette...cheaper and so much better!

Rating 2.5/5 (the GY palette saved the bunch from going down to 2...that one would get a 3)

Kosé Visée x Royal Party Glam Nude Eyes N-6 & N-7 and Lash Blossom (Volume) Curl Separate Film Type Mascara

Visée recently did a collaboration with Japanese fashion brand Royal Party featuring 3 Limited Edition products like they did before with other brands like Mercury Duo and Duras Ambient.

This time the limited palettes are from the Glam Nude range so it was expected to see 2 rather natural and neutral palettes.
In contrast to the regular range of the Glam Nude Eyes the limited palettes come in white instead of black cases. I prefer the white ones as they look somehow prettier and more cheery than black.

Each palette contains a satin cream base (top right) which actually works really well as it´s not greasy and enhances the lasting-power of the shadows nicely.
The texture of the powder shadows is excellent, very smooth and with nearly no fall-out during application. The pigment is there and the colors have a beautiful glistening finish. Only the shade at the bottom right has a bit of finely milled glitter.

N-6 Rose Pink Fur: My favorite palette, a lovely array of rosey-brown colors that look so feminine and sweet. The colors aren´t too red so they look really pretty and flattering!

N-7 Blond Fur: A warmer golden/bronze palette. The main bronze color (left side, middle) has an intense metallic finish. Even though the palette is quite warm I like it a lot. The colors work nicely with my complexion and eye color.

Overall great eyeshadow palettes, even though I consider them neutral they are more special than the usual bland browns and golds found in other  neutral play-it-safe-palettes.

The Lash Blossom (Volume) Mascara Curl Separate Film Type Mascara (what a name!) comes in a limited white tube. I thought it´s a regular comb-type mascara but unfortunately it has that coil-shaped plastic I am not particularly fond of.

The texture is too wet and heavy so the result for me are lashes that don´t look curled, are stuck together and just don´t look good.
Removal is easy with waterproof-makeup remover.

BK002 is a pretty blackened brown but since the formula totally sucks I am not really going to use this.

I highly recommend the palettes but not the mascara!

This is N-6 but with the Heroine Make mascara:

Summer 2010: Kosé Visée Blossom Eyes in PK-1 and GR-4

Did I really write that I only found the purple version of the new Visée Blossom Eyes appealing? I don´t know, but sometimes I seem to be quite out of my senses =P Maybe it was a try to convince myself that I didn´t need any of the other palettes hehe!

Anyway, I remedied that and picked up 3 more Visée Blossom Eyes palettes but only 2 were for myself as the brown one was a gift for my stepmom (who btw. is only 6 years older than me and the mom of my younger brother who is just 5 months older than my YOUNGEST kid haha...yea naughty dad and messed-up family, I know!).

For myself I got the palettes in PK-1 and GR-4 (from the Apopofkawaii blogger sale, too, so each of them came with something else like a lipgloss or falsies).

I think I don´t need to say much regarding packaging etc. as I reviewed the purple palette thoroughly before here. The top 2 shades are non-greasy cream bases whereas the 3 lower colors are shimmery powders with medium pigment and a silky smooth and blendable texture. Please check the other post for more details.

PK-1 is a very sweet feminine rose/plum palette. The cream shades are white and brown whereas the powders are pale pink, medium rose pink and a deep brownish plum.

GR-4 contains white and brown cream colors and powder shadows in a light yellowish green, medium olive and deep olive-tinged brown.

Overall I really like these palettes and the new colors are very wearable and pretty.
