FancL Beauty Concentrate Mask (for the eye area)

The sheet masks from FancL tend to be expensive but of excellent quality, my most favorite mask is from FancL (Moist Vital Mask), but I don´t often buy it as it´s really pricey/piece.

I recently purchased one pair of the Beauty Concentrate Mask (an eye mask) to try this out though I knew it would be a mistake coz these masks are really expensive and I´d surely like to order more if I like the sample pack I got =P

The masks come in a plastic pack and in a small container so that they dont loose their shape during transit. Each mask is heavily saturated with a white milky lotion and is made of a super silky thicker cloth-like material.

As I already expected these masks are fantastic, they make my undereye area super soft and silky, I can still feel the moisturizing effect a day later and fine lines caused by skin dryness are pretty much erased using these masks.

Just stick to the skin below your eyes, leave on for about 10 minutes (I left them for a good 30 mins), pat in the remaining beauty liquid, don´t wash off.

These are unscented and didn´t irritate my skin at all.

Rohto Suppin Rin Day Eye Bright Moist & Night Eye Cream

Rohto Japan might be more known for their eyedrops (Lycée e.g.) but they also produce other cosmetics, among them the new Suppin Rin eyecream range.

I believe the Suppin Rin range came out back in September and it features 2 products so far: The Day Eye Bright Moist and the Night Eye Cream.

Day Eye Bright Moist:
For 924 Yen (~US$12) you get a small tube containing 8g. Actually that´s a bit little for an eye cream, it´s about the same content as a lipgloss (and the tube with the rounded head looks like some lipbalm anyway).

I actually like the simple peachy beige tube with the cute Suppin Rin logo.
The Day Eye Bright Moist is a lightweight tinted moisturizer for the eye area. It feels hydrating but not the least bit heavy or greasy. It brightens my eyes slightly but it´s not a concealer as it only gives a hint of color and a slight pearly sheen. The color is quite light so it will suit most skin-tones due to its sheer nature.

I like this stuff very much as it feels light but hydrating, gives a bit of brightness to my eyes and looks cute. Right now my favorite daily eye cream.
This is not scented and doesn´t irritate my eyes at all. I got mine from Adambeauty for US$12.50 incl. shipping (+ US$2 per order for the tracking number).

According to Rohto this should be applied with the rounded head and massage it in but I squeeze a bit onto my fingers and gently dab it on.

Night Eye Cream:
Contrary to the Day Eye Bright Moist this comes in a fat pink squeeze tube and contains a generous 20g of the cream. It looks like an oversized lipbalm with its rounded head. Like the other product one is supposed to apply this straight from the tube but I prefer to use my fingers for this one, too.

The Night Eye Cream is a thicker silky balm which feels very moisturizing but not greasy...still I can feel my eye area is very soft in the morning when I wake up.
My eye area looks smooth and the fine lines I started to notice look a bit blurred so I think this slightly plumps them up.

Retail price for this product is 924 Yen whereas I got mine for US$12.50 from Adambeauty. I believe this product contains shea butter, squalane and other good ingredients.

Overall both creams are great products and will especially suit younger ladies. I would definitely repurchase them.

Skin Food Salmon Eye Patch

I love using sheet masks, that´s nothing new to most of my readers....but I hardly ever use the patches designed especially for the eye area as...well...probably I am just too lazy lol. I have several boxes of various eye sheet masks but they just sit there unused most of the time.

Since I am approaching my 30th birthday I got more aware of taking good care of the skin around my eyes as I noticed a few fine lines, especially under my eyes. So I whipped out those eye sheet masks and try to use them regularly. Of course I use eye creams daily (a light one from Cosmetex Roland during the day and the Meishoku Sleep Beauty Eye Cream or the Shills Avocado Eye Cream at night).
Anyway, I scored a nice lot of Skin Food goodies in an eBay auction and one of the items was a box of the Salmon Eye Patch.

I like the bulky brown cardboard box, it looks somehow elegant and precious and salmon is a very luxurious food so that fits with the look =)
There are 8 pairs (each pair wrapped individually) of eye masks in the box which is a quite generous amount, most eye masks come in packs of 5 pairs only.

The eye masks aren´t sheet masks actually since they aren´t made of cloth, they are made of a jelly-like material which is transparent with a slightly peachy (or salmon) tint. Don´t worry, these don´t smell like salmon (I was a bit wary of that actually hehe) but has a rather unobtrusive floral scent.
Since these masks aren´t made of cloth there is no "essence" but still the jelly makes my undereye area really soft and smooth and reduces fine lines and slight puffiness visibly for a few hours. It´s more of a temporary effect but well, it´s there.

The gel pads stick very well to the eye area and are quite large so they cover a good part.

Here you can see how many layers of plastic the patches are protected with!

Just apply for 10-15 minutes, then peel off.
I am not aware of the retail price in Korea, sorry! Normally Skin Food´s prices don´t break the bank there. I know that in other countries (or on eBay) the prices tend to be very inflated though!

Overall good for giving a temporary lift and smoothness to the undereye-area, for deeper hydration I prefer a wet eye patch like the ones from Beautymate or Hisamitsu.

Auravedic beauty products(various items)

I was contacted by Auravedic.com, offering me a set of products to test and review on my blog. I gladly took the opportunity as I always like trying new things and the Auravedic line looked really intriguing! Read about the concept behind the line here!
Of course my reviews are honest, this is not a sponsored review!

I got a pretty red box and some very gorgeous goodies all the way from Kerala, India, and i have to say I love how much attention was spent on the nice wrapping!

Auravedic doesn´t test on anirmals and has very mild formulations (the products contain amazingly little ingredients!)

The products I received are:
-Hand & Nail Treatment - Fresh Rose, 100ml
-Coconut Milk Gentle Make-Up Remover - Fresh Rose, 100ml
-Rejuvenating Under Eye Therapy - Bitter Orange & Lemon, 100ml
-Cinnamon Turmeric Botanical Soap Bar
-Lemon Grass Botanical Soap Bar

As a general remark I want to say that I really like the way the labels are designed, the products look really pretty and the sturdy plastic bottles are a great pick. The 100ml sizes are generous and last a long time. I used the items now for about a month and still have enough to last me for many more months.

-Hand & Nail Treatment:
This product is a deeply nourishing handcare oil containing Wheatgerm Oil, Jojoba and Olive Oil.
This is a really rich oil so a few drops are sufficient to give you super soft hands. I massage the oil in well into my hands and nails and then wipe off the remaining oil with a tissue. This way my hands aren´t oily or greasy but just super smooth and look really nourished and healthy.

This has a quite strong smell, hard to describe. I´d say a faint note of rose mixed with exotic spices and a bit of lemon. I really like this scent which also lingers long but I can understand how it could be overpowering for some.
The oil also is fantastic when used overnight with a pair of cotton gloves.

Overall I highly recommend this product if you have really dry hands or just want to have a deeply nourishing treatment to keep them in good shape generally.

-Coconut Milk Gentle Make-Up Remover:
This is a cleansing milk with a thicker creamy texture (think buttermilk) to gently remove makeup and dirt from the face.
This has a very nice light scent, similar to the one in the Hand & Nail Treatment but a little lighter and a bit fresher.

This feels very moisturizing and gentle and didn´t give me any sort of irritations or allergies on my face. This can remove a light layer of makeup but it´s not sufficient to remove my usual war-painted face. It works somewhat when I use a foaming cleanser afterwards but the cleansing power of the Coconut Milk Gentle Make-Up Remover is just not strong enough for me.

However I really enjoy this in the morning as I can give my face a massage with this rich cream and then have super-soft clean skin when I wipe and wash this off.
So overall a nice very gentle face massage/cleansing product but it´s not a makeup remover for heavy duty users like me =)

Check the ingredients list, it only contains 6 ingredients! Among them Coconut Milk, Rice Bran Oil and Olive Oil.

-Rejuvenating Under Eye Therapy:
This item is an eye care oil to use around your eyes in the morning and/or at night. I use it at night as it´s a bit too rich for daytime use right now (but possibly it will be great in winter!). This oil contains only 3 ingredients: Arrowleaf Sida, Coconut Milk and Coconut Oil (and some fragrance oil I suppose).

To me this is the star product of the lot! This oil has a light spicy scent which is very pleasant for me personally. Again this could be too much for some but it´s not a cloying or heavy smell so to me it´s a nice sort of aromatherapy when using this!

The oil is effective in keeping my eye area very soft! In the morning my eye are is very smooth and fine lines caused by dryness get much less visible.
This doesn´t irritate my eyes at all but I am careful not to let it enter my eyes.

The 2 soaps I got are very mild but foam up nicely and leave a soft scent behind. They are nicely wrapped thus they are great little gifts!

Overall I am pretty impressed with this natural and mild skincare line and can recommend the products if you like to use oils and are not overly sensitive to scents.

If you are intersted in Auravedic please go to the website and contact them for availibilty and pricings.

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Anosa Q10 Eye Cream Set & GIVEAWAY =)

Finally that ash cloud is gone! My husband was stuck for 4 days in London until he finally managed to catch a flight to here! Oh and the packages I am waiting for are subject to delay *sigh*. Hah, anyway, I have enough stuff to review here...so even if we should have an ash cloud disrupting air mail for the next 10 years I´d still probably be able to do a review per day haha!

Anyways, Sasa is pure temptation as they just can´t stop listing cool new things... that´s really hard for a beauty stuff junkie like me as I need to haul and there is no way out of that! =P

So...2 bottles of eye cream for US$5.40? I am sold! Anosa is a sister brand of Shills as they´re under the same company.... Anosa is somehow not as cute as Shills but they have some good products worth trying out!

Anosa has several Eye Creams (Sets) up for grabs but Sasa only has the Q10/Elder Tree version (right now).

I am a sucker for eye creams... no idea why, but eye creams just appeal to me very much! I rarely ever have irritations caused by eye creams which is weird since the rest of my face likes to act up when I try to indulge it with something new so maybe that´s why I like buying eye creams!

So the usual not too expensive eye cream contains about 15ml and will set me back around US$15-20. Anosa gives me 2 *35ml* bottles for about US$5 (or at least Sasa charged me that) so can they be good?

First off packaging is very basic and simple as the creams are packed in hygienic pump-bottles. The pump isn´t the best as it somehow has the tendency to be hard to push but when it moves it will spritz out lots of cream so just push gently not to end up with eye cream on your mirror.
Design-wise the labels remind me of some plant-based pharmacy skincare line. A bit cuteness wouldn´t have hurt but it´s still appealing to me.

If you scan the ingredients lists you will notice that the formulas of the Elder Tree Eye Cream and the Q10 Eye Cream are almost identical. Just the last few ingredients are different.

Since the ingredients are nearly the same the texture is identical, too. Both are lightweight yet moisturizing and make the skin around my eyes very soft and smooth and are a perfect prep for eye makeup/concealer.
I am not sure if the creams have any effect away from moisturizing so for a basic eye care for younger ladies both are a perfect inexpensive choice but if you want deeper care, something against dark-circles or anti-wrinkle ingredients these creams will probably not succeed.

There are some really nice ingredients in the formulas like Macadamia Nut Oil, Collagen, Shea Butter and Vitamin E. Both creams are unscented and don´t irritate my eyes at all.

Overall I really like the eye creams and think they are great value for money. The expiry and production dates are printed on the box and mine is very fresh, just was produced a few months ago and will expire in 3 years (which is probably the time needed to finish 70ml of eye cream hehe).

Sasa claims:
  • 【Q10 Eye Cream】(35 ml)
It contains coenzyme Q10, an super antioxidant and anti-aging ingredient, and highly moisturizing collagen to firm skin around eyes and restore its moisture-retaining ability. It is more penetrating and is more similar to skin constituent. It re-energizes skin around eyes, leaving eyes firm and hydrated again. Accompanied by massage to promote blood circulation, it restores skin’s elasticity, prevents dryness and relieves the tired eye contour.
How to use: Morning and night, take a pearl-sized amount to gently apply to eye area. Follow with eye massage, or coverage of eyes with palms with fingers covering forehead. Let the warmth of hands warm up the eye contour to promote blood circulation and reduce puffiness as well as dark circles.
  • 【Elder Tree Eye Cream】(35 ml)
It contains eye-firming factor extracted from elder tree to firm skin around eyes. Eye bags will become unobvious. Skin will be firm and delicate again. With shea butter, niacinamide derivatives, vitamin E and vitamin K, the fresh cream, which is easy to absorb, is more effective in moisturizing skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines due to dryness.
How to use: Morning and night, take a pearl-sized amount to gently apply to eye area. Follow with eye massage, or coverage of eyes with palms with fingers covering forehead. Let the warmth of hands warm up the eye contour to promote blood circulation and reduce puffiness as well as dark circles."

Inexpensive Beauty Find: Cosmetex Roland Q10 Treatment Care Cream for Eyes/Q10 Eye Treatment Serum

And again Cosmetex Roland, this nice but small Japanese brand, has made it into my Inexpensive Beauty Finds category.
So far everything I tried from them is really good and also great value for money as their price point is just really low.
I hope eventually Sasa will list more of their products but right now you can get about 25 or so items there which is a good start.

I purchased this product with the inconsistent name (the name on the box is different from the tube) back in December 2009 but just started using it in January as I was waiting for my Kose Sekkisei eye cream to finish. I still have the Etude House Moistfull Eye Cream around but just prefer using the Cosmetex one.

So on the box it says "Q10 Treatment Care Cream for Eyes" and on the tube "Eye Treatment Serum Q10".

The box is golden and somehow overloaded with pics and writings lol whereas the tube is super simple with nearly nothing written on it =P This is somehow what makes me realize that this brand is still small and probably doesn´t spend too much on expensive packaging designing =P

Anyways, I don´t mind, to me that´s kinda cute! And the cream itself has convinced me of the quality (and it cost me less than US$9 for a hefty 20g tube) so I already repurchased the same cream as a backup and ordered one of the other 2 available eye creams from Cosmetex.

The tube is just white with an eye and "Eye Treatment Serum Q10" written on it. On the back is some Japanese scribble, too.

The cream itself has a buttery yellow color and smooth but very moisturizing formula. It´s a lighter cream so if you have severly dry skin you might want something richer but for me this is the perfect amount of hydration and care for my (not yet wrinkly *knocks on wood*) eye area.
Makes a great smooth base for eye makeup, too!

Overall a really nice eye cream and the 20g tube will probably last me around 3-4 months (I need about 5-6ml eye cream per month, with 2x daily application)

This is not scented and doen´t irritate my eyes at all. Overall very recommended as it´s doing its job wonderfully!

Fall 2009: Etude House Moistfull Collagen (Part 2: Skincare)

I totally forgot to review the 2nd part of my Etude House Moistfull Collagen haul which I purchases already back in October 2009 =X

I only got 3 skincare items: Moistfull Collagen Cream, Eye Cream and Mask Sheet.
Etude House included samples, too, so I could also try the essence. I didn´t try the toner and lotion though!

Just like the majority of the makeup items the skincare doesn´t work for me either.

The Cream comes in a heavy orange glass pot and is not really a cream but more of a very smooth and moisturizing cream gel. It really makes my skin smooth but alas my skin doesn´t tolerate this item. I didn´t have an allergic reaction but my skin got irritated and started to pop up some red bumps on my cheeks. Also my skin in general felt somehow stressed and got rough after a few days so I had to stop using the cream.

The scent of this is nice albeit a bit strong and I prefer unscented facecare anyway!
My Cream came with a sample of the Essence (which caused the same reaction of my skin even when used with my normal Freeplus skincare routine so I stopped using it, too) and a small jar of the Cream (I should have used this before dipping in the big pot!N =X)
Contains 50ml

The Eye Cream however is quite nice even though it´s not something extremely special. It is a lighter gel cream and does a nice job of smoothing out my eye area. Although if I may be honest I prefer my US$9 Cosmetex Roland Eye Treatment Cream Q10 over this (will review soon)=P

This is lightly scented, too.
The tube contains a generous 25ml which is a lot for an eye cream. I think this tube lasts really long!

The Sheet Masks are heavily saturated with essence (25ml) and you get 5 in the package, each packed individually of course.
Again my skin didn´t have an allergic reaction to this but it felt rough and irritated after using this so this mask is not good for me.

Prices were somewhere around 10000-16000 Won I think but can´t remember exactly.
