Cathy Cat Brush Face Color

I think Cathy Cat offers very fine blushes as their colors, pigment and finish are just gorgeous.
When I found their Brush Face Color by coincidence on Gmarket I couldn't resist picking it up (item #153566334).

The Brush Face Color is housed in the cap of a twist out brush which makes it handy for taking along.
Those kind of blushes were very popular when I was a teen (I had several of these from various brands) but I never really liked them. However I really heart the one from Cathy Cat.

My main problem usually was that the brush was crappy and didn't pick enough blush to be of use.
However the Cathy Cat brush, even though it's not the softest, applies the blush evenly and picks up the perfect amount of the beautiful blush (there is only 1 color 01 available).

The color is just pretty, a soft pink beige with peach tones with very fine shimmer and medium pigment. About 2 swipes/cheek are enough to give me a healthy flush of color.

I paid 14400 Won for the blush (about US$11.50) which isn't really the cheapest but considering the makeup pricings here in Europe it's on the low end price-wise.

Cathy Cat Glow Moisture Cake & Pact

I actually wanted to review the Cathy Cat Glow Moisture Cake for some time now but just couldn't decide really what it is lol.
And just a week ago I got the Glow Moisture Pact so I thought of packing both items in 1 review.

The Glow Moisture series seems to be the newest hit from Cathy Cat as their items are listed on their website as Best Sellers...

-Glow Moisture Cake:

I really couldn't determine what this is exactly. It's a solid cream in a compact foundation case. You get the refill in a sealed plastic bag and just insert it in the compact. The refill has an airtight cover so it won't dry out.

I *believe* it's supposed to be a brightening compact foundation. It comes in 2 color (#21 and #23) of which I chose the lighter one hoping it would be light enough. Man, it is SUPER pale (very unlike Cathy Cat's other foundations in #21 which are way too dark for me) and has nearly zero coverage. On the other hand it gives the most beautiful soft pearly glow and has a great brightening effect. So for me it's more of a compact highlighter to be applied on top of my BB cream or foundation for that extra glow.

I just spread it evenly with the sponge provided (and there is a 2nd one in the package, too).
As I said above it doesn't really cover a lot and the color is very very pale but since it's sheer it blends nicely over my BB Cream or foundation.
It has a creamy texture but it's not greasy or heavy so it feels very comfortable to wear.
It is rather pricey for Cathy Cat at about 22000 Won.

-Glow Moisture Pact:

This is a good addition to the Glow Moisture Cake or to wear on top of any other BB Cream or foundation.
This is a compact powder with a glowy finish created through very fine shimmer. It comes in one color only which is a light neutral beige. It gives sheer-medium coverage and doesn't cake up on my skin.

The case comes with 2 puffs so you can toss one after a while.
The only thing I dislike about the powder is the strong perfume. But it vanishes after 10 mins or so so I can live with it.
To my greatest delight my Glow Moisture Pact came as a Special Set with a load of pretty extras (it wasn't advertised as set on Gmarket, just the powder).

I paid around 17000 Won and got deluxe sample tubes of their Moisture In Day Base (green color) and Foundation (both oil-free, SPF10), a deluxe mini tube of their Dream Rouge Gloss in #158 (a pretty very opaque muted pink) and a sampler of 5 Dream Rouge lipsticks in pretty pinks and berries.

I ordered both items from miincos on Gmarket if I remember correctly.

Cathy Cat Lucid Pure Whitening Base SPF45 PA+++ Special Set

I pick up something from Cathy Cat nearly every time I place an order on Gmarket. Cathy Cat has become one of my very favorite brands due to their great quality (and great color choices), cute packaging and affordable prices.

Cathy Cat put out special Sets a lot so you can score nice deals most of the time.

I had the intention to buy a makeup base from Cathy Cat so when I found the Lucid Pure Whitening Base SPF45 PA+++ in a Special Set for around 18000 Won (miincos on Gmarket) I decided to give it a try.

The Lucid Pure Whitening Base comes in a pretty white pump bottle with cute snowflakes printed on packed in a pretty silver box.
I personally don't need a whitening product as I am naturally already ghostly pale but the base has a pretty brightening effect I really like.

The primer is a white smooth cream that gives a glowy highlight to my skin. It gives very light coverage evening out my skin nicely.
This base offers good sun protection, too (SPF 45 PA+++).

The kit contains the full-sized base, a sample of their Lucid Pure Whitening Foundation SPF28 PA++ in #21 (6g tube) and a foundation brush.

The Lucid Pure Whitening Foundation is very pale thus suitable for my skin. However it has very strong yellow tones that get a bit too obvious on me as I am on the pinker side. The coverage is not bad (about medium) and it feels lightweight and moisturizing.
The foundation brush looks decent enough to me, but I don't use foundation brushes. I might try this with my Cathy Cat Amazing Cream Blush though!

Cathy Cat Apple skincare

Even though I am VERY pleased with my Banila Co, Skin Food and Etude House skincare (I mainly use Banila right now... check my review here) I had no chance resisting buying a few items from Cathy Cat as they looked very pretty on the pics online.

I decided to order the Apple Fresh Light Skin Softener (basically a toner), their Apple Eye Ring Pleasure Eye Serum and their Apple Aqua Fresh Facial Cream.

-Apple Fresh Light Skin Softener 150ml:

This comes in a super pretty iridescent pink heavy glass bottle. It looks like white glass with fine pink shimmers under bright lights.
The skin softener is a basic liquid toner that feels refreshing when I use it. It also takes care of the last mini rests of makeup I might still have on after using cleansing oil and and a foaming cleanser.
I paid somewhere around 14000 Won

-Apple Eye Ring Pleasure Eye Serum 30ml:

This is a lightweight but nonetheless moisturizing eye fluid. It makes a great base under eye makeup as it's light and not greasy.
The cute iridescent pink/white glass bottle contains a generous 30ml which is about double the amount of most other eye creams.
I think I paid around 15000 Won

-
Apple Aqua Fresh Facial Cream 50ml:

I think this is the star in the series. It's a very huge bulky glass pot with a white cover flashing pink forming an apple shape.
The cream is actually a gel cream so it's lightweight and sinks into my skin quickly but gives a good deal of moisture to it. My skin feels super soft when I use this so I just want to touch it all the time =)

The coolest thing is the included spatula. I love spatulas but hate how I lose them all the time in my bathroom. Cathy Cat solved that problem and made one side magnetic. You can just attach it to the center of the pot and it will adhere making it look like an apple leaf. So cute! It's a good strong magnet so the spatula really stays in place. How nifty is that? Gotta love the Koreans for their inventive ideas!

The pot set me back 20200 Won (less than US$20 at current exchange rate)

All items carry a soft scent. I hoped it would be a crisp apple scent but indeed everything smells like a soft version of D&G Light Blue. A nice perfume but it's the only small rant I have as I prefer unscented or lightly scented face care instead.

I ordered everything from the same seller that sells Banila Co (check my Gmarket sellers list). While the seller was really generous with samples the small pet peeve I have is that he packed EVERY SINGLE ITEM in an extra box. I got a super huge but very lightweight EMS last week and wondered why it was so huge.. so when I opened I found every item in a box (even the Banila Co Eyeliners etc. were all packed separately)... my EMS box was full of 11 (or so) other small boxes. Crazy!

Cathy Cat...various items

My Cathy Cat stash is constantly growing and there are only very few disappointing items so far. Really, the overall quality is really great and the line is after all quite affordable =)

Today I'll review a lot of stuff I received 2 or 3 weeks ago. 3 of the items are really good while 1 is a pure disappointment.

-Foxy Eyes:

I wanted to try one of Cathy Cat's eyeshadow singles for long time now as I really love their eyeshadow quints, duos and trios so I was absolutely sure that the singles would be striking.

However the one I got is not. I got the Foxy Eyes shadow in R348 as it looked like a metallic taupe on the swatch. Unfortunately it's a warm strange brown that doesn't work for me. I don't have to worry too much about the color though as the color pay-off is so little that it doesn't really show up anyway. It has indeed a sort of metallic finish if you're able to dig into the super hard rough shadow at all.

Costs 8000 Won and is definitely NOT worth it. I can't say if the other colors might be nicer though!

-Eyebrow Pact:

As I wrote before in other posts I have a strange passion for eyebrow powder compacts. So I was very tempted to buy the one from Cathy Cat and obviously gave in my lemming finally =)
The Eyebrow Pact contains 2 eyebrow powders and 2 applicators in a mirrored sleek black compact.

The powders are medium pigmented (I prefer this over super-pigmented brow powders as it looks more natural) and both colors work very well with my medium brown hair color. Filling in my brows is very easy with the silky powders and the result is natural and pretty.
I finish with Etude's Brow Fix Coat and my brows stay in place perfectly all day long.

Doing my brows is a very essential step in my makeup routine!
I paid about 14000 Won for mine and chose color 01 Brown (I see no other colors listed in this seller zelstory's shop).

-Brightening Dual Concealer:

I believe this is meant mainly for the eye area just like Etude House's Dark Circle Concealer. The Brightening Dual Concealer comes with a lipstick-type concealer one one side and a creamy one on the other side. I first use the solid concealer all around my eyes and then the liquid one below my eyes for added concealing strength.
The solid side is a bit sheer but brightens my lids nicely. The creamy side has more pigment and is a bit lighter in color so it does the concealing job better (this one is also nice to use on other parts of the face).

Using both sides together gives me a fresh awake look. I got color #20 which is the palest one (I know there were also #25 and #30 one of them being green.. they only sell #20 now though).

I do have to admit that I still prefer my Etude House Dark Circle Concealer though!
I paid 11800 Won for this.

-Creamy Tender Lips R510:

This is the 3rd lipstick from Cathy Cat I own (but I only like 2) and it's a really pretty color.
The tube of the Creamy Tender Lips is rather simple (basic smooth shiny black) but sleek.

The formula of this is creamy and sheer. The scent is a bit strong but it fades after some time. The staying power is fine in my opinion.

The one I got is color #R510 which is a pretty cool lavender-undertoned shimmery rose.
I paid 11800 Won.

I have a bunch of more Cathy Cat stuff to be reviewed soon (incl. their newest Glow Moisture Cake). =)

Cathy Cat 3D Face Pact SPF45 PA+++ and Aqua Sun Pact SPF50+ PA+++

Erm, I don't know exactly how I ended up with both Cathy Cat's 3D Face Pact SPF45 PA+++ and the Aqua Sun Pact SPF50+ PA+++ but somehow it seems I purchased both =X

Both come in the same style of compact but the Aqua Sun Pact comes in a metallic silver case whereas the 3D Face Pact comes in a shiny black one.
Both come with 2 puffs so you can toss one after some time (I think that's convenient!).
Also there is a clear plastic flip-top in both compacts to rest the puff on and to protect the powder. Korean makeup brands are very nifty!
Another thing both products have in common is the nasty perfume. Really, it's cloying and just gives me a headache (even now while I am typing and both compacts rest beside me opened). Thankfully the scent isn't lingering long when it's on my skin

The main difference I can see is the texture/coverage and the shimmer in the 3D Face Pact. I think 3D generally means glitter in Korean makeup language lol.
It's very fine silver glitter though and it's not obvious unless you're in bright sunlight. It gives a light glowy finish though so it provides a pretty finish.

Aqua Sun Pact:

The Aqua Sun Pact has a lightweight airy feel and provides a soft matte finish. The box claims that this is cooling and water resistant (that's the only thing printed in English lol).
I love the way it feels on my skin... very lightweight and fine.
The 3D Face Pact offers a bit more coverage (a good medium coverage) and has an almost creamy feel to it.
I purchased both in color #21 which is a very light color on the slightly peachy side. Both don't turn me orange and work very well with my skin-tone. In terms of wear the Aqua Sun Pact feels lighter whereas the 3D Face Pact has a slightly more powdery feel but offers better coverage.

3D Face Pact:

All in all if these wouldn't stink so yucky they'd be close to perfect. Both compacts are good but I prefer the Aqua Sun Pact.
Each product contains 17g. I paid somewhere around 17000 Won/each.

The 3D Face Pact came with a free Glow Moisture Base SPF20 PA+ in a generous 20ml size (most face primers contain 30-40ml full-sized) so it will last me quite a while.
The base adds a very light iridescent pink sheen to my skin and really feels moisturizing. It doesn't cover at all but makes a nice smooth base. Has a light scent that's much more pleasant than the stinky granny perfume of the compacts.
