DHC Base Makeup Q10 Moisture Care Color Base SPF 22 PA++ in pink

DHC has quite a nice range of face makeup items up for grabs. Among them the Q10 makeup line. I reviewed the foundation which I quite like here!
I am definitely interested to get the pressed powder, too!

I think the Q10 Moisture Care Color Base has been out for some time now but I just saw it recently listed on eBay (alphabeautyuk as usual) so I picked up the pink one.

This makeup base comes in a squeeze tube containing 30g and comes with SPF 22 PA++.

This description is taken from eBay seller Alphabeautyuk:

"It just like an essence! With long lasting moisture care.

"Makeup + Skinare" - Concept

This Q10 liquid foundation contains rich beauty essence contents, and it can be described as an "essence". It gives you a moisture rich, smooth, elastic skin with long lasting performance.

Features

1. Q10 anti-aging & moisture care

  • with the highest possible concentration of co-enzyme Q10 content allowed in local Japan, works with super hyaluronic acid, it gives you an advanced moisture care via makeup. While the natural oceanic collagen helps improve the elasticity of skin layer, leaving your skin smooth & supple.
  • the natural olive essence oil acts as an effective agents against dryness & harmful UV rays.
  • contains the same ingredient levels as the DHC skincare products

2. Aqua Moisture Veil

  • it forms a virtual moisture mask veil cover your skin, the included beauty essence & moisture work together to keep your skin supple & moisture rich, avoid dryness and moisture loss via evaporation

3. Coverage for Fine Lines

  • like covering a thin veil over the face, it covers fine lines & uneveness, and making your skin look youthful

4. Sunscreen Support

  • with SPF22 PA++ sunscreen support against harmful UV rays.

No fragrance. No preservatives. For all skin types.

The shades available are:

Light Pink
- good coverage, increase skin translucency, and give a light & healthy pink finish

Shiny Beige
- cover skin uneveness, brighten up, and give a natural skin finish

Clear Ivory -cover over-redness, increase skin translucency, and create dimension for the nose part

Natural Beige
- cover skin uneveness, and give a natural skin finish

Cool Green
- cover over-redness and create dimension for the nose part"

I first didn´t know if I should get light pink or green but settled on pink eventually as I just got the green Freeplus base in the same time.

The base is a nice smooth cream but it´s not a very moisturizing or slick formula (but not drying either). Actually at least on me it´s more on the mattifying side but it makes a great base for foudation which clings to the base very well.

The light pink color really evens out my skin nicely covering slight imperfections neatly

This isn´t scented and doen´t irritate my skin at all.

I have to say that overall DHC is growing more and more on me. They released some really fabulous items in the past months, among them my holy grail eye concealer (the Q10 one in Light Beige I reviewed some time ago). Their color cosmetics are really good and cute, too!

I just started using the Moisture Fruit Foaming Face Wash after I ran out of my Juju Aquamoist HA Bubble Face Wash and will also try the Soft Touch Cleansing Oil soon =D
The DHC eyeshadow review will also be up soon (within the next few days).

Kosé Addiction Natural Veil Powder in 01 & Blush in Amazing

I hauled a few more goodies from Addiction among them the Natural Veil Powder in 01 and the Blush in Amazing.

Natural Veil Powder:
The powder comes in a thin plastic case as it´s meant to be put into either the Compact Case I (alone) or Case II (together with a blusher or 2 eyeshadows).
I was a bit disappointed when I received it as from the picture it was not noticable that this would not come in an actual case. Also for the hefty price I thought it should not just come as a refill. I eventually ordered the Compact Case I though as I just dislike to have it in the ugly thin plastic thing.

The Natural Veil Powder is a very light-toned finely milled silky powder that evens out my skin perfectly. I really love this powder as it doesn´t look overly powdery or chalky at all but still offers light coverage. It sets my foundation and doesn´t feel dry. I am not sure if 01 is supposed to be translucent but this is definitely best suitable for fair-light skin-tones as it definitely does have a bit of a tint to it.

Really, this is a superior quality powder however I must say I have other cheaper powders that perform almost as good at a fraction of the price. I think I will still repurchase this though as I seriously enjoy using this.

This is not scented and I don´t have any irritation or adverse reaction when I am using this.

You can get this on Ichibankao or Mihokoshop so you can check out the price yourself. There is also a color 02 available.

Blush in Amazing:
I saw this color shown on the pamphlet and fell in love with it right away. The perfect cool hot pink!

Oddly this comes in an actual case but without a mirror. I don´t know why the cheaper blush comes in a hard plastic case whereas the more expensive powder comes in a flimsy refill case! After all the blush is also meant for depotting =X
Anyway the blush color is gorgeous! It´s really a very bright cool pink but deep enough not to look clownish!

The blush has a very smooth fine texture and is only very lightly shimmery, almost matte.
The only little rant I have is that the level of pigment is actually much less than I expected for such an expensive makeup-artist-like brand. Actually for me that´s not that bad as I can overdo blush very easily but still I think this should have a bit more pigment. It takes about 2-3 layers to achieve the soft pink flushed cheeks I like =)

You can fit 2 of the blushes in the Compact Case I or 3 pieces in the Compact Case II.

Overall both items are great albeit a tad expensive. Next time I´ll review the 4 eyeshadows I picked up =)

Kanebo Kate Eyeliner Frame Impact Marker

Kate makes my favorite eyeliners I use nearly daily: Kate Supersharp is the best liner to draw a very fine precise line without any effort (I used up like 7 or 8 pencils?) and Square Cut Liner is the best for the inner rims (I just close my eyes and pull the liner a few times along my inner rims to have them done perfectly).

One of the newest liners is the Frame Impact Marker which is something I haven´t seen until now!
Basically the Frame Impact Marker is meant for tightlining as you dot the ink (this is a liquid liner like a felt-pen!) just in between your lashes to make them look fuller but it should look like you´re not really wearing liner. The liner is split into 3 small tips (sort of like a fork) so you can reach between your lashes nicely.

I think the idea is good but it takes quite some time to apply the liner and I just prefer a super thin but clean line I can draw with my Supersharp liner.
For a super natural eye look this might be nice though!

Here you see my bare eye (no concealer or anything else applied)....woot, never showed you my naked eye, right?)

And here it´s with the liner on (sorry, I somehow opened my lid more than in the first pic but you can spot the liner dots). I wear the liner and nothing else btw:

Overall an interesting invention but not quite a must-have for me.

I purchased mine from Adambeauty. I paid US$10 for it. There is only one color (black BK-1) available.

Rohto Lycée Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion

I´ve been using the Rohto Lycée eyedrops for some time now and really like them (will review soon, too!) so when I spotted their Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion I immediately ordered it (from alphabeautyuk on Ebay, also ordered the 450ml jumbo bottle!).

My eyes are one of my weakest points... I had several surgeries as I was born with a squint leaving me with small scars inside my eyes which makes it hard to wear contact lenses (I used hard ones but they were so uncomfy I always wear glasses now as I am very hyperopic). Furthermore my left eye has a scratch on the cornea which usually doesn´t cause any problems but when I open my eye too quickly after sleeping deeply it hurts like someone punched me in the eye with his fist as the cornea is a bit dry and the lid can stick to the scratch and open it when I open my eye.

Anyways, I always take good care of my eyes as I am visiting my ophthalmologist frequently, replace mascara often and use gentle eye products. Even though I consider my eyes sensitive I rarely react to any makeup or eye care products and I have an eye infection once in 5 years at most. I never rub my eyes and generally keep my hands off my face (I really trained hard to do that lol!)

The new Rohto Lycée Eye Wash Cleansing Lotion is a welcome extra step of my evening facecare routine as it helps in removing any last traces of mascara (those little bits that enter the eye) and dust and generally making my eyes feel fresh and rested.

You get a bottle of rose-scented liquid with a special suction cup to wash your eyes. You pour 5ml of liquid into the cup (up to the line), place it gently over your eye, squeeze it lightly and then lift your head a bit till the liquid is over your eyes. Open your eyes and blink several times for around 10 seconds. Discard liquid and fill again to do the other eye.
This stuff doesn´t burn or sting at all which makes it really a comfy thing. If you have a slightly blurry vision from removing eye makeup this stuff will help getting rid of it.

All in all I really like this and will continue using it! Contains Vitamins B6 and B12, Vitamin E, Hyaluronic Acid, is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
Besides that the bottle is darn cute =)
You can use this up to 6 times a day but I use it 1x at night after removing makeup and sometimes in the morning if my eyes feel very dry.

I got the 80ml bottle which costs about 600 Yen and waiting for the 450ml bottle which costs about 1100 Yen so it´s MUCH better value for money! The smaller bottle is convenient for travels etc. though!

Update on my Prettia hair color Berry Cassis (after 1 week) & Hoyu Beautylabo Hair Color in Velvet Brown

So I just dyed my hair ago with Prettia´s Bubble Hair Color in Berry Cassis (or Cassis Berry or whatever it´s called).
While initially I really liked the color I have to say that after a few washes it started to catch a rusty orangey tone, especially on the roots as they were lighter (my natural hair color is about light-medium brown) so the 1cm of hair closest to my scalp looked really yucky. The overall color was still pretty but I just couldn´t stand the look of the orange roots so............tada...... I dyed my hair again =O

Look: =X

I didn´t intend to do it so quickly but really my hair looked gross! To my delight the Hoyu Beautylabo color I used was rather mild so my hair doesn´t look or feel damaged or fried at all but surely I will give it a dye break now until the outgrowing hair will be really ugly (say 1-2 months =P)

The Beautylabo dye is a regular cream color which consists of 2 agents. You just squeeze the tube into the bottle, shake and apply. You also get a leave-in treatment for afterwards.

To my horror I noticed that after doing about 3/4 of my head I ran out of the dyeing cream! Yikes! I thought the 120ml of dye would be enough for my hair as the 100ml Prettia dye are even too much and cover all my hair and possible another short haired person if I wanted to. Seems the bubbles really make a difference in that (and also their application was more pleasant).

Anyhow, with lots of combing, squeezing out the last bits of dye and massaging I was able to cover my head and hoped for a somewhat even result.

The color I used is called Velvet Brown which is more of a deep blueberry-toned brown shade. I really really heart that color so much (it took more of a reddish blackberry tone on me)! I like my hair darker and this color is just outstanding in my opinion.

Here is the before:

And after:

Will update on how this color performs, I hope the rusty tones of the Prettia won´t come out soon.

Next time I will probably use a Prettia color again though =P They have lots of pretty browns and the bubbles are just so convenient!

JUJU Aquamoist Moisture HA Bubble Facial Wash

JUJU is one of those brands I have noticed but hadn´t tried (except for one free face mask I received a year or so ago) until December 2009. While their products always received praises I just didn´t really have the interest to try anything.

When I ordered my big Sasa hauls couple of months ago I included couple of JUJU products in the order, one of them being the Aquamoist HA Bubble Facial Wash which is a cleanser that is dispensed in bubble form through a pump so you don´t need to later it up with water.
I generally enjoy bubble face washes as they are usually milder than regular foaming cleansers and the bubbles are dense and fluffy and just fun to use. The Aquamoist HA Bubble Facial Wash is not a mousse cleanser like Kose Softymo Airy Whip which is one of my absolute favorite facial cleansers but I enjoy the Aquamoist cleanser very much!
The smells this face wash carries isn´t the best as it´s a slight chemical one but that doesn´t bother me as I wash it off immediately anyway. The bubbles are dense and soft and look and feel like steamed milk =)

I think this is not the strongest cleanser so I don´t know how this would perform with seriously oily skin and surely any skin type needs a makeup remover like a cleansing oil or milk (or whatever makeup remover you use) beforehand but this is a gentle and nice face cleanser to follow your makeup remover or to use as your first skincare step in the morning.

I got my bottle in December and I almost finished it because I use it daily, in the morning usually. At night I currently use my Happy Bath Day Essence Oil Cleanser and Essence Wash.

I usually use about 3 pumps to cleanse my face, sometimes 4 if I feel generous =P
The pump bottle contains 150ml and retails for 900 Yen. I got this from Sasa.com for US$9.70.

I have several foaming cleansers in my stash i.e. Sana Konuka Bubble Face Wash (with rice ceramides) and DHC Moisture Fruit Foaming Wash.

Kanebo Freeplus Base Make Soft Nuancer in Milky Green SPF11 PA+

Some of my readers might know that my favorite skincare line is from Freeplus. Freeplus is made by Kanebo for sensitive skin-types and is very mild and free of all the irritating stuff found in many other cosmetics. I´ve been using the Maintenance Care Lotion and Emulsion for the past 9 months or so and I am very happy with them (though I strayed and got some Kao Curel stuff which seems to be a good but cheaper alternative!)

I reviewed a couple of items here: Click!

Anyway, Adambeauty has several items from the Freeplus range up for grabs and this Base Make Soft Nuancer (a makeup base) was a total steal at US$15 incl. shipping (add US$2 per order for registered mail) while it actually retails for 2625 Yen (about US$29) for a 25g tube.
Since I have quite a lot of redness in my face and green is great to combat this I settled on the Milky Green color (you can also get Milky Yellow).

The Base Make Soft Nuancer comes in a simple green squeeze-tube and since I always need a little it will last quite a while I am sure.
It´s a smooth slightly thick cream with a good coverage ability but it manages to not make my face look green or ashy. I am not sure if it would work for very tan skin-tones but I guess it could create an ashy cast.

I seriously love this stuff! I use a tiny dollop (about pea size) to apply this to my whole face and it evens out the redness on my cheeks and other imperfection so nicely! It really does a great job at evening out my skin-tone!

Note: The swatch above was taken on my arm. I didn´t blend the base in, just spread it lightly to show the greenish tone. When it´s blended it doesn´t look that green on me.

This base also makes a great smooth base for my foundation and feels moisturizing.
This is free of parabens, alcohol and fragrance and is non-comedogenic (shouldn´t clog pores).

For me all in all this is a big yay and my favorite makeup base purchase in a long time (I also got one from DHC, Maquillage and Kose Grendaine recently which I haven´t reviewed yet.)
