Summer 2009: Kate Diamond Cut Eyes BK-2 & GD-1

The guys from Kate seem to be quite secretive about their limited palette releases... they totally surprised us at Xmas with their Select Eye Color palettes and now they released 2 new Diamond Cut Eyes in special packaging and limited quantity. Actually the limited palette thing started at Xmas so it's quite a new thing to happen.

Since I am quite a die-hard fan of Kate I had to pick up both new palettes, especially as 1 of them looked like taupey/black goodness...exactly my colors!

The Diamond Cut Eyes in BK-2 (Dark Diamond) and GD-1 (Gold Diamond) come in cute palette with little round clear windows so you can see the color underneath. The biggest circle is surrounded by a silver respectively golden corona like the moon/sun (sounds pathetic I know! When it's about describing things my English is really s*it)

Anyways, the arrangement of the eyeshadow pans is just like in the normal Diamond Cut Eyes: you get a split pan of golden/silver glitter, a highlighter, lid color and liner color. Also the texture is similar. Rough/gritty glitter split pan but the shadows are smooth, pigmented and blend well.

BK-2 Dark Diamond:

This is definitely my fave among the 2 palettes as this contains just exactly the colors I like. It contains white,
The colors are a deep sparkling gray, taupe gray, white.

The 2 colors are shimmery (fine shimmer), the deepest color looks
sparkly (but doesn't show up too glittery on me)

GD-1 Gold Diamond:

This is definitely warmer than BK-2 but still neutral enough for me to wear it.
The colors are brassy gold, deep gray with golden glitters (turns a little greenish on me) and off-white.

All in all the palettes are worth picking up and good neutral colors to wear all year round. To me they don't look like super exciting summer colors though (in all honesty).

The palettes retail for 1680 Yen/each in Japan. You can buy them from Adambeauty or Ichibankao right now.

Kathi, you are fast! I can always count on you to review the newest Japanese/Korean releases.

I'm undecided on this but who doesn't like LE items?

I'm definitely getting one or two or maybe three Majo palettes though! =D

Kate packaging is simple but neat. For me, packaging is not a big issue as long as the product is good. Of course, it has to be use friendly though.Keke..
