While I am not impressed with VOV´s Castledew Shirring Eyes palettes I am really loving its sister for cheeks named Shirring Cheeks. It has been just added to the VOV Castledew Line-up very recently.
It comes in the same cute silver compact like the eye palettes reminding me a bit of Jill Stuart´s palette cases which makes the blush look pricier and more elegant than the pricetag of only 9600 Won (about US$9) would suggest. (I purchased this on Gmarket from seller "eloah" who seems to have quite reasonable prices...I have seen the Shirring Cheeks retail for 12000-15000 on Gmarket, too!)`
The blush is one of the most pigmented Korean blushes I have tried so far. I expected this to be on the sheer side like most Korean and even Japanese blushes tend to be but the Shirring Cheeks is really well pigmented, 1-2 swipes are enough or else I´ll look like a clown.
The texture of this is silky and finely milled and it only imparts a very soft glowy shimmer, no metallic or frosty finish some other Korean brands seem to prefer (like the VOV Aura Shimmer Blushes have e.g.).
It comes in 1 color only so far consisting of 5 stripes of pinks-peaches from darker to light (so you can use this as a highlighter, too, if you use a small brush). My 6 yo daughter commented that the blusher looks like cozy little cushions lol (she likes to discuss my makeup items with me, she´s totally my girl hehe)
The color I get from mixing all colors together is a pretty flattering peachy pink that goes with most lip colors.
All in all this is a great product to try and well worth its small pricetag.
2 thumbs up for VOV!
